Thirty minutes later, the couple that was biting their lips anxiously, awaiting a response from their daughter finally got one. It was a broken heart emoji with little band aids covering the cracks.

Muyang looked at his wife. He did not need to speak up in order for her to hear the question on his lips. ’What does this an?’

"Quickly, check the internet." She told him.

Muyang gave the order verbally to the phone AI, Bandit. It reported back to them what the internet suggested, ’Healing in a healthy way. The nding heart emoji can be used to convey that you are healing well from a physical or ntal wound,’

The couple sat up straighter, puzzled more than before.

"What does this an?" Chi Lian asked.

’It can also be used as a sign of empathy, condolences and support. The most common interpretation of the nding heart emoji is that one is recovering from a romantic heartbreak.’ Bandit added.

"That doesn’t help at all." Muyang said. "This is not helping, it is just making this ambiguous. We should have gone with my original suggestion and sent ’hi.’"

Spider shook his head once more. He wondered if now was the ti to intervene and help his bosses. For a genius like Jun Muyang and a tech genius like Chi Lian that was responsible for fifty percent of the high tech developnt in the world, they were dummies when it ca to parenting.

Muyang received a new notification and it was also from i i. It was text with words!!

"She sent words." Chi Lian marveled.

The way she had widened her eyes in wonder, one would think that their daughter was the first human in existence to send a worded text.

"Look, not just one word, there are many!" Muyang exclaid.

"OH MY GOD!!! BOTH OF YOU...STOP IT AND JUST READ THE TEXT!" Spider bellowed.

His reaction and words were appreciated by the other three bodyguards that were pretending to mind their business and yet eavesdropping.

Muyang cleared his throat and he looked at the watch. He read the text out loud for so reason. [Hi dad and mom because I know that you two are together like you are most of the ti. I hope that you are both doing okay and your health is superb.

I know that I made so many mistakes before and I promise to co ho and apologize in person soon. I don’t know if you will forgive but I hope that you will give a chance to apologize and make it up to you. I thought that I should let you know that I am getting a divorce. Obviously you know because the whole world knows!

Dad, you were right--n are bad. So of them anyway and I seem to have found one of the worst ones. I am really, really, really sorry for not listening to you. I promise to clean the wax out of my ears the next ti you give advice. haha...

But sothing good did co out of my mistake. I have a daughter...you have a granddaughter. Her na is Mingzhu, I am already changing her surna from Mo to Jun. I hope that you will allow these two unfilial descendants to return ho.

I have more to say but a text cannot cover it.

P.S. The dreaded trio is living in my house and Jun Yi brought a frog, a wolf and a tortoise. We must be living in so kind of fairytale book. Who raises frogs!!!!

Love you both forever, Your slightly wiser, broker, older, very apologetic eldest daughter.]

i i had not sent a text alone. She also sent pictures of Mingzhu and herself that had been taken over the years. Even videos of Mingzhu from a little baby to where she was now.

The very first picture sent Chi Lian into tears and Muyang hugged her. He knew what was making her cry. In the picture, their daughter looked malnourished, one of her shoes had a small rip which showed that it was coming apart. There was pain in her eyes and despite the smile on her face.

It was Mingzhu’s third birthday and they were at the amusent park. Even through i i appeared to be struggling, Mingzhu looked well cared for and healthy. Her clothes were new, the hair pins in her head were the butterfly type that had been trending among little girls that year. Clearly, i i had given the best of everything she had to her daughter.

"We should have kidnapped them both back then and locked them in our castle." Chi Lian said through sniffles.

The fox that was sleeping on the back of the dog that resting on the sand woke up then and T4 said. "What did I say about kidnapping other people’s children?"

"She is my daughter, what do you an by kidnapping? Don’t parents kidnap their children back from cults? I was hired for that job before, Have you forgotten?" Chi Lian answered.

Muyang projected a video of Mingzhu as a baby from the watch and Chi Lian forgot T4 for a mont. One thing they loved the most about Mingzhu was the fact that her looks were eighty percent similar to i i’s. Looking at her was like looking at their daughter as a child back then.

The couple sighed at the little laughs made by their granddaughter.

Spider laid back down on the beach chair. He figured that would give them soti to lose themselves in baby videos and then he would remind them that they had not replied to their daughter’s text.

Jun ilin was also thinking of the sa thing as Spider, wondering if she would get a response. But rather than be nervous, she reminded herself that she had taken one step today and seen results. The bleeding heart emoji and the text was the most she had communicated with her parents since she left ho.

She left the office and passed by the toddler swimming class. The large pool was very busy, children were being assisted by swimming coaches that Wu Qing had hired on short notice. If they did well, they would beco permanent employees.

The pool side, pool chairs and every end of the room was covered in toddlers, cried of nervous children and laughter. Camp guides were running after the little ones that were being naughty.

"She was right, it is a baby gym." A woman that was passing by said.

i i hissed. "It is not....oh what the hell."

Soone gasped and then a five year old child shouted, "Teacher, she said what the hell. It is a bad word."

i i found herself in a spotlight, stared at by judging adults and scandalized children. She wanted to tell the many eyes that ’what the hell’ was not a bad word. But when dealing with children, she had learned that it was easier to just say sorry and teach them a lesson than be defensive and confuse them.

"I apologize, next ti I will be more careful." She said.

It worked, the children seed appeased and they returned to their activities. i i escaped the swimming area quickly as if she was running from a swarm of bees.
