Ti seed to move slowly as the soldiers and fighters from various families stared at the approaching beasts, a thick air of nervousness covered the wall and was oppressive.

The people here had reached two hundred, with more standing on the ground behind the gate; the approaching beasts caused the ground to tremble and made the people even more nervous.

Leon stared from on top of the wall, his hand tightly gripping the white sword. Even as a martial artist, this was the first ti he had seen such a large number of beasts; he could not help feeling nervous, too.

'I hope that damned God of misfortune hasn't really found yet, I'll definitely die if I go down there if that's the case' Leon thought to himself, deciding to trust Goddess Selinthia on this one; he had thought of escaping and avoiding this fight but he knew it was impossible with his Senior sister's next to him.

Unless he used his skill and convinced them to let him sit this one out.

'That won't do, I don't have enough exp to spare'

Leon shook his head as his gaze moved from the approaching beast to the people standing on the wall. Many of them were in plate armor, they were the soldiers of the town chief. Others wore robes of different colors and carried different weapons; so held long-range weapons such as crossbows, javelins, and wooden bows, while others carried lee weapons such as shields, blades, and clubs.

A hand suddenly landed on Leon's shoulder, startling him so much that he jumped and imdiately drew his sword.

He looked at what was behind only to see that it was his Senior sister, Feifei.

The latter looked at Leon's stance with a comical expression on her face as she held back herself from laughing.

"Relax, they are ordinary savage beasts and can't hurt you unless you want to get hurt. Even if a ranked beast appears, as long as it's not above the 4th level, we can deal with it" she said with a small smile, trying to calm Leon.

The light of the moonlight made her smile exceptionally dazzling. Leon was stunned for a brief mont, he returned his sword to his scabbard after realizing that it was just his Senior sister and let out a few dry coughs.

"Thanks for the reminder, Senior sister," Leon said softly; Feifei smiled at him before turning her attention back to the forest.

Linux shot him a glare before snorting and turning her gaze away.

At this mont, the first beast finally broke out from the forest and dashed toward the wall. It was a huge leopard with a twisted horn poking out from its head, its speed was very fast and it was only several hundreds of ters away from the wall; it would reach the wall in less than a minute with its current speed.

More and more beasts appeared from the forest right behind the leopard, and all of them dashed toward the wall with ferociousness; roars and screeching sounds filled everyone's ears for a mont.

Leon gulped at the sight of this, he quickly reminded himself that he was a martial artist and these beasts could not hurt him.

"Everyone with ans of attacking from a distance remains on the wall, everyone else heads down and prepare to kill those beasts!" A soldier in plate armor shouted in a loud voice.

Everyone standing on the wall imdiately moved; dozens of people stread down and joined those who were waiting beyond the gate while less than a hundred people remained on the wall with their long-range weapons.

Their jobs would be to attack any beast that ca too close to the wall while providing assistance to those fighting on the ground.

Don't underestimate the skills of trained fighters and soldiers, even though they are not martial artists and are not as powerful as the latter, they have spent years training their weapons and have beco very proficient in them.

Each of the archers could hit a target from a hundred ters away, even in the dark!

Rumble!

The gate on this side of the wall was opened with a loud noise and hundreds of people stread out and ford a long line in front of the tall wall, they gazed at the beasts that were approaching from the distance with serious expressions; the beasts were now less than three hundred ters away and were rapidly approaching, their speed seems to increase at the sight of the people coming through the gate.

Still standing on the wall, Feifei pulled out her sword while backing Leon and the others.

"Get ready to attack" she muttered to the three of them.

Leon gripped his sword tightly while Linxu and Wanxu also readied their weapons.

On the ground, the soldiers and people in robes watched as the beasts got closer and closer. Imdiately after they reduced the Gap between them to a hundred and fifty ters, a soldier shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Attack!"

Imdiately after his shout, many battle cries rose into the air as the hundreds of people standing in front of the wall charged at the incoming beasts; their voices echoed through the night and were like a small thunderclap.

They ran for just a few seconds before coming face to face with the beasts, both sides imdiately clashed and mixed.

The fight began!

Loud cries of anguish and roars of the beasts filled the sky as both sides entered a bloody battle.

Flesh were ripped, and blood gushed into the air with each clash; corpses of humans and beasts dropped to the ground every now and then.

Attacks rained from on top of the wall, and many beasts were pierced; more beasts rushed forward from behind and trampled their fellow beasts as they charged at the humans without regard for their lives.

"Stay together, watch each other's backs!"

Loud voices rang across the place as three to four people worked together to take down a single beast.

A soldier carrying a huge shield charged forward while letting out a loud shout; his shield smashed into the side of a four-ter-tall gorilla with huge arms.

The beast was instantly thrown away and crashed into other beasts, smashing them into at paste under its weight. The gorilla roared angrily but before it could charge at the soldier, two n in brown robes and wielding long spears jumped at it and pierced its head and chest with their spears.

Blood gushed out, and the beast waved its huge hands; his hand smacked the chest of one of the n and sent him flying, but it suddenly went limp and fell to the ground before it could attack again.

The man who was sent flying spat out blood as he crashed into the ground and his spear fell from his hand. He struggled to get up, but a shadow suddenly covered him; he looked up, and his eyes widened in horror; it was a huge tiger with a bloody mouth.

The tiger imdiately attacked the man; its mouth opened and revealed a mouth full of bloody, long teeth.

The man brought his hand forward out of reflex to defend himself.

Crunch!

"Argh!"

He let out a heart-piercing scream as his arm was bitten off.

The tiger swallowed the arm in one gulp and wanted to attack again, but a black tal arrow suddenly whistled through the air and pierced its head; it fell to the ground beside the man and died.
