The Loen parliant was divided into the House of Lords and the House of Commons.
The mbers of the House of Lords were primarily high-ranking nobles and royal descendants.
Unlike the House of Commons mbers who needed to be elected, the seats in the House of Lords were hereditary.
This ensured a stable transfer of power to so degree, but it also led to an increasing number of incompetent people filling the parliant.
By now, much of the House of Lords' power had been seized by the House of Commons, and its political standing in Loen continued to decline.
But regardless, as the stronghold of the country's Conservative Party, it still represented the fundantal interests of the old nobility and competed with the House of Commons.
The current greatest supporter of the Conservative Party was Pallas Negan, brother of the current Pri Minister Lord Agushid Negan.
The title people were more accustod to calling him by was Duke Negan.
Queens District, West Palace.
This was where the House of Lords held its regular etings.
Inside the building known as Whitehall, the various parliant mbers had already taken their seats in the tiered arrangent according to rank.
Each of them wore red ceremonial robes made of deep crimson velvet, lined with mink fur and decorated with golden lace trim, appearing noble and dignified.
Matching this, each of their faces displayed grave and solemn expressions, as if they were constantly exhausting themselves for the kingdom's future.
"Look at this bunch of incompetents."
On the second-floor gallery, Levi, who was monitoring the eting hall, sneered quietly.
"Kons, see that guy dressed most lavishly?"
He said to his team mber, pointing toward the middle section of the tiered seating.
There, a noble wore an extravagant curled white wig, with his family crest embroidered in gold thread on his red robe.
"I see him."
The man beside him answered.
"That guy is Marquis Manila.
To maintain his noble appearance, he just sold thirty thousand hectares of land to cover his expenses."
As a senior intelligence officer, Levi knew the nobles' daily lives inside and out.
"Three seats behind him, the one who's quite bald, that's Earl Dyke.
He's having an affair with his son's wife. And the noble to his left likes to abuse servants in his villa..."
These were words that Levi would never normally speak, but today, looking down at them from the second floor, for so reason, Levi suddenly felt the urge to vent.
"Oh, so these parliant mbers aren't good people at all."
The person beside him said with a sowhat frivolous tone.
If Levi were in his normal state, he would definitely sense that sothing seed off about "Kons."
But at this mont, he was acting strangely, as if the dark side of his heart had been opened.
Instead, following the guidance of the person beside him, he continued with a cold laugh:
"Heh... I could talk about these guys' scandals for dozens of minutes without stopping.
How is it that once they put on a robe, they start putting on airs, acting like they're pillars of the nation too?"
"Well said, Mr. Levi, well said indeed."
The Noss encouraged him, his cold eyes flickering with interested light.
"What else do you want to say? I know there are things you've kept buried in your heart for a long ti, right?"
"I... I can't say..."
"What can't you say? Release it all freely. Let those pompous fools know your fury..."
Noss was clearly very interested in this, constantly suggesting to him. He wanted to use this to complete his control over Levi and obtain his soul.
Levi's expression beca increasingly dazed. Then, as if making up his mind, he spoke:
"My superior, the forr Captain of the Palace Guard, he actually..."
"Hmm?"
The devil Noth suddenly made a soft sound of confusion.
He abandoned his questioning of Levi, suddenly stepping back into the shadows and closing his eyes, as if sensing sothing.
A mont later, he opened his eyes and shook his head with considerable regret.
"That little lady from the Hall family actually broke free from my control. I should have just dealt with her directly..."
Noth thought to himself.
He stepped out from the shadows, smiling as he looked at Levi beside him.
"Sorry, Mr. Levi, it seems I don't have ti to hear the rest of your story."
Since that young lady had already broken free from his control, the Noss had to hurry.
The church's people would very likely arrive in an extrely short ti.
Before that happened, he'd better quickly eliminate Duke Negan.
At the sa ti, on the first floor of Whitehall.
"We are the most important component of Loen, representing the law and virtue of this nation."
At the speaking podium, Duke Negan was making an impassioned speech.
"The mbers of the Conservative Party should unite and maintain our struggle against the House of Commons.
Those forces attempting to change the kingdom's order are committing complete and utter betrayal..."
Duke Negan was advanced in years, with a protruding belly and aged features.
But when he stood here, watched by nurous parliant mbers, that passion buried deep in his heart surged up again.
It was like returning to the countryside villa of his childhood, or like secretly eting with his lover...
Strange emotions swirled in his heart.
The feeling of having the most important group of people in the nation obediently listening to his speech was simply too wonderful.
Strange... This is just a routine eting like any other. Why am I so excited...
A small confusion arose in his mind, but it was quickly pushed aside by his enthusiasm.
Duke Negan beca increasingly emotional, his words resounding powerfully.
"Boo..."
Just then, from several seats at the front of the parliant, so mbers made sounds of dissatisfaction.
Even the most united organization would have dissenting voices internally, and the situation in the House of Lords was similar.
These parliant mbers, whether due to different political views or being bought by certain forces, were always opposing him anyway.
On a normal day, the Duke would simply ignore the voices of these clowns.
But for so reason, today after hearing their boos, a surge of anger involuntarily rose in his heart.
"Please maintain order, maintain order!"
The Speaker struck his gavel, shouting loudly.
"Your Grace, your brother may be the Pri Minister, but he always chooses to compromise before the King, completely ignoring our interests!"
"Saying such high-sounding words, don't you find it ridiculous?"
The Speaker's reminder only made things worse.
After he spoke, these few people beca even more brazen, directly raising their voices to shout.
"Shut up!"
"You're the most laughable ones..."
The nobles supporting Duke Negan weren't about to back down. They directly cursed from their seats.
The two sides imdiately erupted into chaos, with tumultuous waves of noise filling Whitehall.
This was the Loen parliant. Contrary to what citizens might imagine, when parliant mbers argued, they weren't much more refined than street brawlers.
A bunch of fools, only causing trouble...
Duke Negan's heart grew increasingly furious.
Just then, he saw soone on the opposition side, which had fewer people, suddenly beco so angry that they pulled a dagger from beneath their robe and stabbed it into the body of the person beside them!
