On the way while waiting for the police to arrive, Li Zhou briefly explained his findings.
"Near the courtyard wall, I slled a cry for help."
Tuanzi and the others couldn’t understand, so they could only consider it a unique ability of the Beastman Clan.
"Then you left the zoo to rescue them, senior brother?"
Li Zhou sheepishly touched his nose.
"Because I sensed their anger and slled the scent of death, I was in a bit of a hurry and didn’t inform you guys."
Thinking about the scene he found following the scent, anger flickered in his eyes.
He had rushed there as fast as he could, but still, a dog had an accident.
It was a large dog, with signs of being beaten. He guessed that because this dog resisted after being captured, it was beaten and didn’t receive tily treatnt, and was without food and water, leading to its demise.
Tuanzi glanced at his expression and extended a paw to grab his hand, just as a cat tried to leap onto Li Zhou’s arm. It accidentally jumped too far, flying over their hands, with its furry tail brushing Tuanzi’s paw.
"Eh?"
She looked down at the cat that overleaped.
The cat was a bit befuddled too, its tail swaying aimlessly.
"Hahaha!"
Tuanzi laughed unreservedly, "You jumped too high! You need to jump like this!"
She demonstrated for the group of cats.
But before that, she quickly pulled the cats clinging to the fourth senior brother off and bounced directly into Li Zhou’s arms.
Li Zhou instinctively caught her, and Tuanzi naturally wrapped her arms around her brother’s neck.
She looked down, her tone boastful, "See, that’s how you jump!"
"ow ow ow!"
A group of cats owed furiously.
Tuanzi beca even more smug, "Only you guys can ow? Miaomiao can too, ow ow ow!"
"ow ow ow!"
Wen Li took out his phone and gently suggested, "Miaomiao, it seems like your owing isn’t quite right. Try a few more tis, and maybe learn from them."
Tuanzi did as she was told.
Wen Li contentedly recorded a short video and sent it to Wen Qi, then explained a few minutes later that it was a ’slip of the hand.’
Wen Qi ignored him but liked posts from a mutual friend of theirs.
He was online and saw the video but just didn’t want to respond to you.
Wen Li pursed his lips and quickly smiled again.
When the police arrived, they saw a little girl hugging a handso guy, owing proudly.
A group of angry cats and dogs at the handso guy’s feet.
And with the help of this handso guy, they effortlessly loaded the cats and dogs onto the vehicle.
Terrified, the two thieves were very cooperative, readily admitting that they had stolen these cats and dogs. So were to be sold to less particular pet stores, while others were to be sold to at vendors.
In the past few years, they often carried out a few deals in a city before moving on to another city, and their targets were carefully chosen.
"We didn’t even have ti to sell them this ti!" one of them sobbed, also saying Li Zhou startled him out of his wits by descending from the sky.
The officer remained unmoved.
Do these two think the cats and dogs or their owners should pity them?
"Tell us exactly where each one was caught!"
Many people had posted missing cat/dog notices after losing their pets, and the police found many based on the two thieves’ confessions.
In the following days, quite a few cats and dogs returned to their original hos.
Li Zhou would occasionally visit to check on the remaining cats and dogs and comfort them.
In the end, only one little husky was left unclaid.
The officer responsible for the case explained, "That family happened to move out of town, and they let us handle the dog as we see fit. We plan to send it to the shelter."
Apparently aware of its fate, the little husky quickly extended its paw to hug Li Zhou’s pant leg.
As it hugged, it couldn’t help but start biting Li Zhou’s pant leg, soon creating a hole.
Officer: "..."
Tuanzi couldn’t help but squat down, pulling the little husky away, "Don’t bite!"
Thinking she was playing, the little husky stumbled and charged at her.
Tuanzi pushed its little head, causing the husky to flop onto the ground, pitifully howling ’awoo.’
The little girl was stupefied.
Was she just conned by a little dog?
"Miaomiao just lightly touched it!"
"Awoo woo!"
Tuanzi was so annoyed she gritted her teeth, "You can howl too? Miaomiao can do it too!"
The blue-eyed puppy staggered up, hiding behind Li Zhou.
Tuanzi: "!" This little dog is really good at playing the victim!
Li Zhou helplessly picked up the little husky, holding its head, "Don’t bully my junior sister."
"Awoo woo woo!"
As if understanding his words, the little husky clung to his finger.
When the officer tried to take it away, it threw even more tantrums.
The officer hesitated, looking at Li Zhou.
The forr owner had confird abandoning this little dog. If Li Zhou was willing to adopt, there would be no further trouble, and it wouldn’t have to be sent to a shelter. One more spot in the shelter ant saving another animal.
But he couldn’t directly propose that, needing to see Li Zhou’s intent.
Instead, Tuanzi proactively suggested adopting the little husky.
"We have a yard at ho where it can run freely."
"And also," Tuanzi carefully recalled her family’s work, "we’re all earning money and can support it. Miaomiao also has ti to accompany it."
She counted on her fingers.
They had money to buy dog food, enough space for the dog to exercise, and ti for companionship. Yup, they t the conditions for adopting a small animal.
Li Zhou naturally had a liking for small animals and was willing to adopt the little dog.
He just felt staying at his junior sister’s place, adopting an animal wasn’t quite right.
"Miaomiao, do you really like it?"
On the surface, Li Zhou was sunny and cheerful, but deep down he was very sensitive.
"We can also find it a good owner."
"Miaomiao likes it!"
Tuanzi deliberately made a face at the little husky, "Awoo woo woo!"
The little husky imdiately echoed, "Awoo woo woo!"
The calls of the person and the dog rose and fell.
So people visiting the police station curiously looked around.
"Where’s the police dog? Why can’t I see it?"
After so communication and discussion, when Li Zhou and Tuanzi left the police station, they took a little husky with them.
The two headed straight to the pet supply store, buying so dog food, treats, and toys.
The shopkeeper, seeing their decisiveness, continuously recomnded items, exaggerating their qualities.
However, Tuanzi had her own ideas, Li Zhou didn’t want to spend too much money, and the system searched for pet-keeping guides online, giving targeted suggestions. They only bought the necessities.
Soon the two returned ho.
Tuanzi swept through the yard like a gust of wind, not yet inside the house when she heard Ji Zhangzhuo’s exaggerated laughter.
"Hahaha! These netizens have such vivid imaginations, actually saying the fourth junior brother is a cat reincarnated!"
