The newly rich Tuanzi giggled foolishly.
Gu Che passed by and glanced several tis.
If it weren’t for the caras already trained on them, he’d have quite liked to take out his phone and snap a few pictures.
His sister looked pretty cute when she was giggling senselessly.
Jin Chunting didn’t have this concern.
He’s a veterinarian, and even if he looks quite good, he’s still a vet and only cos into view when needed. Normally, he’s just regular staff without on-cara requirents, so he could openly take out his phone to take pictures.
Happy as they are, everyone still needs to draw lots to form teams.
Chen Wen didn’t want to miss another good opportunity and hinted to her brother to team up with Tuanzi before the draw.
As long as her brother was tied with Gu Miaomiao, she could naturally join that team, too.
Unfortunately, Tuanzi was too popular.
Not only did Chen Lin want to team up with her, but Zhou Xiangshang, Wu Yu, and Yang Heng also wanted to be with her.
Wu Yu stood by Tuanzi and patted his own face, trying hard to pull himself together.
"Miaomiao, if I team up with you, we can do less work."
Hearing this, Gu Che frowned. What’s this kid implying? Trying to make my sister do more work?
Just then, he heard Wu Yu grumbling, "That aunt keeps whining about being tired and needing a break, and there are so many tasks. In the end, us kids have to do a lot of things."
Mountain Patrol isn’t just about hiking. It also involves checking trees, crawling through bushes to pick up bottles and cigarette butts or other things that might cause forest fires, re-marking paths, and counting so wildlife numbers.
Everyone has a lot on their plate.
If one person slacks off, it ans a lot more work for the others.
Wu Yu’s thought process was simple: if he was with Miaomiao, he’d only need to do what he was supposed to do. Teaming with Chen Wen ant not only his own tasks but also picking up Chen Wen’s slack.
Even though his sister sotis smacked him and disturbed him, he didn’t plan on doing other people’s work, especially adult work!
Usually, this little guy talked very little, but in front of Tuanzi, he was practically rambling.
He said sulkily, "I was so tired yesterday that I didn’t even want to eat. I was so sleepy while studying, and I’m just a kid."
Why was that aunt making things difficult for him, a child?
Tuanzi suddenly rembered.
"Oh right, yesterday during class, your head kept nodding. I guessed you were really sleepy."
Gu Che’s brow furrowed even more tightly.
His sister was so attentive to this pesky kid during class?
He glanced at Wu Yu, then at Wu Ti, who shrugged and smiled.
Yang Heng, the little guy, could totally relate as well.
He wasn’t tired on the first day and worked enthusiastically. But yesterday, he was exhausted.
"I wasn’t tired at first," he thought he was murmuring, "But then that aunt said she was tired, and sohow I felt tired too. It’s so weird."
Most importantly, he heard Zhou Xiangshang talking about Tuanzi leading the way, and he was super envious. If he could team up with his little sister and experience flying, he’d be willing to do the work of two people.
Chen Lin was also one of the envious ones, running over to request teaming up, purely out of his own interest, as he completely missed his sister’s hints.
A few kids gathered to gripe, completely oblivious that the audience had heard everything.
[Are they talking about Chen Wen?]
[Looks like Chen Wen’s actions have provoked public ire]
Imdiately, so fans chid in, saying that mountain conditions are tough and Chen Wen is just not used to it.
[Then how co others are coping? Never mind, don’t answer, I already know what you’ll say: one mont you’ll say the other female contestants are athletes and therefore have good stamina, the next you’ll say the rest are male participants and should inherently do more work. But your sister can’t even compete with the kids.]
[Don’t scold the kids, they’re just candidly speaking the truth by accident]
[By the way, does Chen Wen know she’s not welco among the kids?]
Chen Wen really had no clue. She spent her days wrapped up in her own thoughts, oblivious to the chatter of the kids.
But in the end, Chen Wen’s wish was half fulfilled.
Director Chen explained, "We have received a notice. Footprints of others have been found in the mountains. It’s currently unclear if they’re poachers or just ordinary citizens. For safety, everyone will do a collective mountain patrol today, and our security staff can also better protect everyone when concentrated."
Chen Wen’s face turned pale instantly, fulfilling half of her wish.
She wanted to stir up so buzz for fa but not by risking her life.
Yet if she suggested pausing the filming for a day, it could easily lead to controversy.
Taking advantage of the ti when everyone was gearing up, she cozied up to Yang Jin, attempting to stir him into being the voice of dissent.
"I think it’s okay," Yang Jin responded with a lukewarm attitude while stepping back a few paces to keep his distance from her, "Not to ntion our full security personnel; as long as Miaomiao and her senior brother are here, we won’t be in danger."
Just poachers, they don’t stand a chance in front of martial arts experts. He even considered sending his brother to learn martial arts so that even if he didn’t beco a master, he’d at least strengthen his body rather than always playing on his phone or tablet at ho.
Chen Wen was dumbfounded. Why did this person suddenly get so cold?
Yang Jin walked away indifferently and was all smiles when he t the other contestants.
Not only did Chen Wen notice this, but the audience did as well.
[Was he rejected by the goddess and now he’s angry?]
[Uh, only you guys seem to think your goddess is great when apparently, he doesn’t see it that way at all]
[I don’t think so. Yang Jin saw the stuff posted by the PR account and realized he was being set up]
[What PR account?]
[Here’s the link, check it yourself]
[Don’t say the PR account is trying to gain hype, everyone knows that this PR account is under your goddess’s company]
[What’s it got to do with Guan Wenwen if the company bought the articles?]
anwhile, Yang Jin approached Wu Ti, took advantage of an unnoticed mont by the caras, and mouthed a ’thank you.’
Wu Ti smiled and shook his head.
It was just a small favor.
Yesterday, after noticing Yang Jin’s cautiousness and dissatisfaction, he casually sent him so previous news articles on Chen Wen’s hype tactics.
Yang Jin wasn’t foolish; he got the hint quickly and began searching the web for news relating to himself and Chen Wen, soon discovering so articles indirectly implying that he joined the show for the goddess’s sake.
Although the hype wasn’t high at the mont.
If he perford well later in the show, the hype around these kinds of articles would definitely rise, and the attention would automatically shift to Chen Wen.
He was nearly beside himself with anger.
He’s just a drama actor. Even though he’d heard so entertainers would do anything for fa, he never imagined this seemingly sweet actress would play such nasty tricks, without even asking for his opinion?
Even the best temper would crumble under such circumstances.
This was just an interlude.
Once the group was prepared, they hit the mountain again, starting the last day of the first phase of the mountain patrol.
Everyone was well-practiced by now.
Whenever they encountered familiar scenery or the little animals they’d seen before, the kids would warmly greet them.
Tuanzi waved at a little squirrel poking its head out, "Hello, little cutie!"
The little squirrel imdiately shrank its head back.
Wu Yu wondered, "Isn’t it called Little Brown Brown?"
Chen Lin countered, "It’s called Little Mao Mao."
Zhou Xiangshang protested, "It’s clearly called Little Hopper."
"No, no, no," Yang Heng disagreed, "It’s called Little Flyer!"
The five kids couldn’t settle the argunt and ran to the adults for an answer.
