After the lunchti rush ended that day, the guests hurriedly prepared the ingredients needed for the evening, the props needed for the performance, and also contacted the invited guests to ask where they were.
The small semi-open-air garage had indeed been transford into a barbeque stand.
Various ingredients kept fresh with ice blocks were neatly arranged on the side.
Later, everyone would perform in the yard, and most of the guests would also choose to sit at the tables in the yard. Everyone unanimously decided to let Yi Heng beco the head chef of the barbeque stand, while another chef recomnded by the welfare center stayed in the main kitchen to et the dining needs of other guests.
Yi Heng: "..." Forget it, he accepted his fate.
Every ti he dressed stylishly to participate in the program, Yi Fei even instructed the team to match him with a lot of outfits. However, he was basically stuck in the kitchen, with no ti to change or go in front of the cara to show off.
As ti passed, that desire to fight for cara ti gradually faded, and he fell in love with cooking instead.
Occasionally, just occasionally, he would wonder if he might buy a small restaurant when he no longer pursued a career in showbiz, cooking according to his mood or simply entertaining friends.
Thinking of the word "friends," he laughed at himself.
All along, he had been chasing fa and fortune, even daring to sche against those he got along with. How could he possibly have friends?
Not far away, Tuanzi was diligently counting the performance props. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Yi Heng’s expression and quickly urged Yi Kai, "Your brother’s having a mont again. Go interrupt his madness."
Yi Kai: "?"
The little boy, clueless but obedient, ran over to his brother.
As he got closer, he realized his brother’s mood was off.
After thinking for a mont, the little boy asked cautiously, "Brother, do you not want to be in charge of the barbeque? If you don’t want to, let everyone know, and they can change the person."
Yi Heng froze, his handso face almost unable to hide his expression.
Soon, he collected his thoughts, shook his head, "I’m willing."
On this rare occasion, he patted Yi Kai’s little head, his attitude becoming more gentle, as if deep down, he’d co to accept this little brother.
Watching his brother walk away, he sighed inwardly.
Even his little brother noticed, huh?
Recently, he had not been sharing his thoughts with the guests, just like how he never shared his thoughts with Yi Fei. He didn’t tell the forr because he was willing, perhaps even indulging everyone. He didn’t tell the latter because he knew he couldn’t change it or wasn’t willing to.
Thinking back to last week when he went ho, Yi Fei assigned his little brother a new task, and the little brother bravely refused. This stirred sothing within him.
Maybe he should struggle a bit.
When the performance was about to start, Gu Qize returned.
Gu Chi greeted him with a smile and led him to the front seat.
"Miaomiao saved this seat just for you."
Gu Qize sat down and looked around, "Where’s Miaomiao?"
"Getting ready for the performance."
Gu Chi smiled, "Ai Jie will sing to start things off, and Miaomiao will go on after heating up the crowd."
Noticing Gu Qize taking out a brand new cara from the bag, he was a bit surprised, "Just bought it? Do you know how to use it, brother?"
"I studied a little, I guess I can."
Gu Chi: "If Miaomiao knows you bought a cara just to capture her performance, she’d definitely be happy."
"Ah," Gu Qize let out a short sound.
He composed himself and described the process of buying the cara seriously.
It all started when his sister hoped he could share his visits to various attractions. He took so photos on his phone, but was dissatisfied with the results. Just then, he saw a photography enthusiast using a cara at a scenic spot and went up to ask for their expertise. Upon their recomndation, he bought a cara nearby and began learning.
The photography enthusiast said he was quite good at capturing monts.
Gu Chi quickly checked the cara brand, looked it up online, and asked Gu Qize about the price, finally breathing a sigh of relief.
"I almost thought you got scamd."
People with decision-making difficulties can easily be led by the nose, unknowingly buying a bunch of things only to realize later that none of them are useful.
Realizing this, Gu Chi was also a bit surprised, "Brother, this seems like the first ti you’re interested in sothing. Is photography fun?"
The handso man nodded, and honestly described his feelings, "It feels calm."
Calm of mind? Gu Chi automatically filled in the thought.
Seeing the relaxed look in Gu Qize’s brow, he couldn’t help but sigh internally, Gu Yunmu’s sacrifice this ti was worth it. Hopefully, the cousin hadn’t been beaten down emotionally and physically by the company’s business.
Soon, Gu Chi had no ti to entertain Gu Qize.
That night was all about outdoor barbeque and outdoor performances, so he played the role of a waiter, weaving through the crowd, occasionally delivering drinks and various barbeques.
Ai Jie’s performance had already started.
She directly sang a bold and heroic song, which was quite exhilarating.
In the middle of delivering drinks, Gu Chi was startled, then turned to look at the guests. He found that everyone was getting fired up, with so singing along. Of course, so were practically wailing like banshees, the effect quite startling.
For a mont, he couldn’t tell if it was the artist’s charm or the song’s impact.
After Ai Jie’s performance finished, it was Tuanzi’s turn to lead a group of kids on stage to perform.
A little girl with chubby cheeks politely bowed and introduced the performance content in a sweet voice.
There were indeed guests who ca specifically for Tuanzi’s performance.
While delivering als, Gu Chi could hear everyone excitedly saying that this performance was different from the ones that had spread online before. They felt they’d benefited!
He noticed many guests taking out their phones to take photos and record videos, presumably to post on their social dia or upload online.
If it were before, he might’ve been a bit bothered by everyone spreading photos and videos about his little sister. But after tentatively discovering that his sister had traveled back and forth in ti from the ancient past, he had faintly guessed the reason she always appeared on shows.
If videos related to traditional martial arts spread quickly, it should be beneficial for his sister.
Thinking this way, he placed a glass of iced lemon water on a nearby dining table.
"Here’s your lemon water."
The guest seed not to notice, muttering to themselves, "Damn, I ca too late, couldn’t get a front-row seat, now I can’t shoot good videos!"
This voice?
A young painter smiled and looked up, seeing that the guest at the table was soone wearing a hat and mask.
Besides the newly ordered lemon water on the table, there was a bunch of barbeque, probably delivered by another waiter.
But this guest didn’t touch the barbeque, holding a phone and filming like mad.
"Custor, wasting food is shaful."
"I know, I know, I’ll finish it later."
Gu Yunmu impatiently shooed him.
Engrossed in filming, he hadn’t realized that a different waiter replaced the previous one.
Until a young and handso face appeared in the lens of his phone, wearing a gentle smile.
