Bear-san Went to Ellelaura's Residence
After completing the Ice Dragon egg puzzle with Fina, I used the Bear Transfer Gate to go to the royal capital.
It was a hassle, but I couldn't ignore Ellelaura-san's request.
If I ignored it for too long, it would definitely beco even more troubleso in the future.
I wondered whether I should head to the castle or to Ellelaura-san's house. Finally, I decided to go to Ellelaura-san's house.
The reason for my decision was that the flowers Shia had used in making the pressed flowers were identified as rare. Even if I t Ellelaura-san at the castle first, we would still end up going to her house to examine the pressed flowers.
I actually thought about going to see Flora-sama, but if I went to see her now, the King would co along as an added bonus.
If the King got involved, I had a feeling that the matter regarding the pressed flowers would beco even bigger.
The best thing to do was to avoid trouble.
I could visit Flora-sama after the issue related to pressed flowers was dealt with.
So I went to Ellelaura-san's residence, or rather I should call it Cliff's house in the royal capital.
"Yuna-san, it's been a while." (Sururina)
Sururina-san, a maid working at the mansion in the royal capital, welcod .
"Hello, Ellelaura-san called over." (Yuna)
"Yes, I have been inford. I was told to entertain Yuna-san when she arrives." (Sururina)
Sururina-san guided to the guest room.
And, true to her word, she prepared sweets and tea to entertain .
I ate the cookies and drank tea.
It was delicious.
As I leisurely ate sweets and drank tea, the door opened and a beautiful girl with swaying golden hair ca in.
"Yuna-san!" (Shia)
Shia entered the room in a school uniform.
She was as beautiful as ever.
Cheerful, hardworking, the daughter of a noble, and beautiful… I was sure she was popular at school.
"Shia, it's been a while." (Yuna)
Shia sat directly across from .
Then, Sururina-san followed along into the room, placed tea and sweets in front of Shia, bowed and left.
The Maid-san was amazing.
"Are you here because of pressed flowers?" (Shia)
"Yeah, I heard that precious flowers were used in pressed flowers." (Yuna)
"Please wait a mont." (Shia)
Shia said, as she put a cookie in her mouth, and left the room.
But she ca back within a few minutes.
When Shia ca back, she was holding a picture fra.
Then she placed the fra in front of .
It was a fra with pressed flowers in it.
"It's this flower." (Shia)
Shia pointed to a flower.
It was a bluish flower.
It had six petals, which spread out like fireworks.
"This flower, huh?" (Yuna)
I couldn't tell what kind of flower it was even after looking at it.
It just looked like a normal flower to .
Maybe I could find more details if I used the Bear's Observation Skill.
I placed the Bear-san puppet on the blue flower and tried using the skill.
[Pressed flowers… Made by crushing and drying flowers…]
… I felt angry.
It was the right information, but not really what I wanted to know.
I felt like I'd searched for a breed of dog and been told "dog".
So people may not know what pressed flowers were, so it was the right answer, but that was not what I wanted.
For now, I wanted to shout out loud that it was not right.
"By the way, how did they find that this flower was precious?" (Yuna)
Since my Bear's Observation Skill couldn't tell about it, I had to ask for more details.
But it sure had been a while since we made these pressed flowers together.
If Shia or Ellelaura-san had any knowledge about rare flowers, they would have noticed it sooner.
"That's…" (Shia)
Shia told the story.
Apparently, soone ca to Ellelaura-san's house to et her for work.
That was when that person saw the pressed flowers in her office.
"Do you display the pressed flowers in Ellelaura-san's office?" (Yuna)
"Mother brought them over. She said, [This is nice. It's handmade by my daughter, so I'll borrow it for a while.]"
… Ellelaura-san.
I would sotis see on TV about parents displaying pictures that were created by their children as wall decorations, and I think it was similar to this.
I think parents treasured those pictures because they were made by their children. But from the child's point of view, I think it would be embarrassing.
"Well, I wasn't so attached to the pressed flowers either, and I couldn't throw them away, so I lent the flowers to her." (Shia)
Well, I didn't have any attachnt to pressed flowers, either.
If soone asked to lend pressed flowers, I would also lend them without thinking.
"So, who is that person? A florist?" (Yuna)
If they were an aristocrat, they might have wanted to use the flowers as decorations.
Maybe Ellelaura-san invited a florist to her office for so reason.
"Not a florist, but soone from the Ministry of Magic." (Shia)
"The Ministry of Magic?" (Yuna)
I'd never heard of that before.
"Most people probably don't know this, but the Ministry of Magic is where they research magic, magic power, magic items, and so on." (Shia)
"There's such an institution?" (Yuna)
"Yes, magic and magic items can be dangerous, so that departnt is run by the governnt." (Shia)
Indeed, both magic and magic items could be dangerous depending on how they're used.
Magic aside, magic items were often usable by ordinary people as well.
It would have been terrible if soone tried to use a magic item and, when channeling magic power to it, caused a huge explosion.
"Soone from the Ministry of Magic ca to our house and saw the pressed flowers in Mother's office." (Shia)
So, to follow, soone discovered precious flowers being used in the pressed flowers, then Ellelaura-san contacted Shia, who made the pressed flowers, and Shia told her about making them together with us in Crimonia, so Ellelaura-san contacted through Cliff.
I understood the flow.
"I just want to confirm with Shia. Did you tell her where you got the flowers?" (Yuna)
"Mother asked if I knew where the flowers were picked, but I lied and said that they were picked by Yuna-san. After all, I promised not to talk about Targui." (Shia)
Shia answered with a smile.
I told Shia before not to tell anyone about the Targui.
She was keeping her promise.
Shia's smile was dazzling.
"So, what are you going to do? Mother might ask you to pick so for her." (Shia)
"Even if I don't tell her any information about the Targui, the fishern of Mileela at least have so information about the moving island. So, I think it’s fine to tell her about the island itself, but not that it’s a living creature." (Yuna)
I told her that Noa and the fishern of Mileela also knew about the moving island.
"That's true." (Shia)
"But thank you for keeping quiet." (Yuna)
"It's a promise to Yuna-san after all." (Shia)
I was happy about Shia's consideration.
I was equally happy that Fina and Noa stayed quiet.
Well, it was also fine if I were to tell Ellelaura-san the details about the island after she ca back ho.
"So, Yuna-san, do you have ti?" (Shia)
Shia asked as I put the cookie in my mouth.
"Well, for now, I'll just be waiting for Ellelaura-san." (Yuna)
"If you don't mind, can I have a match with you? I think I've gotten a little stronger since then." (Shia)
Well, just eating sweets, drinking tea and relaxing in soone else's house was fine as well, you know?
I touched my stomach.
… I needed to get so exercise.
"A little bout is fine." (Yuna)
"Thank you." (Shia)
Despite my reply, I still continued putting a cookie in my mouth and drinking my tea.
After all, Sururina-san prepared them for . It would be a waste if I didn't finish them.
Shia looked at and also drank her tea.
After that, Shia and I moved to the garden.
Shia handed a wooden sword, and we distanced ourselves from each other.
"You can go at it any ti." (Yuna)
I said as I prepared my sword.
Shia took a deep breath, prepared her sword, and slowly closed the distance.
Her sword was raised.
At the sa ti, she stepped in.
A beautiful sword stroke.
But I parried Shia's sword.
Last ti, Shia lost her balance and was unable to respond to my movent.
But Shia didn't lose her balance this ti and pulled her sword back.
It was proof that she had improved.
When I took a step back, Shia followed suit and stepped forward.
There was no hesitation.
Shia brandished her sword down.
I shifted my body to avoid it.
Shia had probably expected to avoid the attack, as she launched a series of attacks one after another.
She was carefully thinking through her attacks.
I lightly deflected Shia's sword.
If I deflected it with too much force, the sword in her hand would end up flying off after all.
That wouldn't be good.
Shia gripped her deflected sword tightly, enduring the force so she wouldn’t let the sword slip from her hand.
It was impressive that she didn't let go of her sword.
This ti I would be the one to attack.
I brandished the sword I had raised when I deflected her attack.
Shia quickly pulled back her sword and blocked it.
"Uuh." (Shia)
Even if she could block the first blow, what about the second?
I swing my sword to attack from both sides.
Right, left, right, left, it was a monotonous attack flow.
Shia managed to block it at the last mont.
It felt like she was moving her sword without thinking.
So I shifted the attack pattern.
"Ah." (Shia)
The mont I followed up with my attack for the second ti, Shia was not able to block it and the sword hit Shia's body.
To be precise, it was just a touch off, so it was not really a strike.
"Ah, I thought it was going well." (Shia)
Shia dropped her stance and lowered her head in disappointnt.
"No, it was good. I don't think you need to be so pessimistic." (Yuna)
"Really?" (Shia)
"Your legs are well-trained, and even when I parried your attacks, you didn't lose your balance. I can tell that you have put in so effort in your training."
"But you blocked all of my attacks." (Shia)
"Well, that's the difference in experience." (Yuna)
"How much did you practice, Yuna-san?" (Shia)
"Hmm, that's a secret." (Yuna)
I once fought more than 100 people in one day in a ga.
I have fond mories of having practice matches against other people to win.
Swords, long swords, great swords, knives, spears, clubs, axes, etc. I fought people with various close-combat weapons.
Those experiences made the person I was today.
But I couldn't win every ti.
There was also compatibility with weapons and fighting styles.
You couldn't just win with strength alone, but luck also played an important role.
I couldn't complain about losing because my opponents were random.
"Want to keep going? I can spar for as long as Shia has the strength." (Yuna)
"Thank you." (Shia)
Shia readied her sword.
I practiced with her until she ran out of strength.
And when practice was over, Sururina-san ca over, gave us cold drinks, and even prepared a bath for us.
As expected of a proper Maid-san.
Shia and I gratefully accepted the bath.
