Bear-san ets Up Jubei-san
After relaxing in the garden with tea, we went to see other places.
“Yuna, can I have a mont? My master wants to et you.” (Shinobu)
“Jubei-san?” (Yuna)
Jubei-san was the na of Shinobu’s master.
I fought him when I first arrived in this country.
I got a little angry at the ti and got serious.
“I don’t mind. What about Noa and the others?” (Yuna)
“If you don’t mind, I’ll go with you.” (Noa)
“Yes, I don’t mind as well.” (Misa)

“Shinobu-san said he was her master?” (Misa)

Noa and the others were surprised.
“Yes, I can, but I’m not as strong as Yuna…” (Shinobu)

Although Shinobu claid otherwise, I still think she’s a strong fighter.
My strength was only thanks to my bear equipnt.
If I were not wearing my bear outfit, I’d be too weak to even beat Fina.
We headed to Jubei-san’s place while listening to Shinobu’s story.

After so ti, we arrived at a place that looked like a training ground.
“So there’s a place like this in here as well.” (Noa)
“This is where the soldiers train.” (Shinobu)
“But there’s no one here.” (Noa)
“There’s no one here at this ti of day.” (Shinobu)
“Ah, but there is one person here.” (Yuna)
Misa and everyone looked in the direction I was looking and saw Jubei-san, a man with a samurai-like appearance.
“Master!” (Shinobu)
“…You have arrived.” (Jubei)
Jubei-san walked over to .
“Jubei-san, I heard you called .” (Yuna)
“Sorry. I’d like to ask Yuna sothing.” (Jubei)
“What would you like to ask ?” (Yuna)
“Could you spar with Shinobu?” (Jubei)
“”What! Fight with Yuna (Shinobu)?””
My voice and Shinobu’s voice cried out in unison.
“Why is Shinobu surprised?” (Jubei)
“Master, you never told about this arrangent before. What do you want by making do this? Why ask to spar with Yuna out of nowhere.” (Shinobu)
“It’s because you’re probably blaming yourself again for not being able to do anything in the last battle you were involved with Yuna.” (Jubei)
“Yeah, but I don’t understand why I suddenly have to fight Yuna.” (Shinobu)
“I want you to see for yourself what you are trying to reach and overco.” (Jubei)
“Shinobu, are you aiming to be like ?” (Yuna)
“Jubei-Sama!”
Shinobu shouted in embarrassnt.
I was also a little embarrassed by the complint.
“I’m not aiming to be like you, I just wanted to be as strong as Yuna.” (Shinobu)
“But Shinobu is strong too.” (Yuna)
“Are you being sarcastic?” (Shinobu)
I didn’t an to be sarcastic.
I honestly think Shinobu was strong.
“Shinobu-san, have you never fought Yuna before?” (Noa)
“No, I haven’t. I watched my master fight her though.” (Shinobu)
“What you learn from watching is different from what you learn from fighting. If you want to beco strong, you should fight Yuna at least once.” (Jubei)
What Juubei-san said was right.
Even in gas, you learn by watching the movents of other players. Of course, just watching didn’t make you stronger. There were so things you wouldn’t understand until you actually experienced them. If you could beco stronger just by watching, no one would have any trouble.
“Yuna-san, are you fine with having a match with Shinobu-san?” (Juubei)
“I didn’t want to accept it, but…” (Yuna)
I knew that Juubei-san was doing this for Shinobu’s sake.
Shinobu looked at .
“If it’s not a bother to Yuna, I’d also like to ask you to spar with .” (Shinobu)
Shinobu’s expression was serious as well.
It was not an atmosphere where I could refuse.
“…Okay. But what format should the match be?” (Yuna)
“Is there any weapon or fighting style that Yuna is bad at?” (Shinobu)
I thought about Juubei-san’s words for a mont.
In the ga, I was a magic swordsman. I couldn’t think of any fighting style that I was bad at. Conversely, there was no specific fighting style that I was excellent at as well. I was pretty balanced or rather a little too balanced. That’s why I could fight with a sword, knife, hand-to-hand combat, and magic.
I was like a jack of all trades, master of none.
“Basically none.” (Yuna)
“Well, if you can say that, Yuna is a monster.” (Shinobu)
To call a Monster, how terrible.
“Shinobu-san, Yuna-san is not a monster. She’s a Bear-san.” (Noa)
Noa said aloud what I was thinking to retort with.
“Sorry. I didn’t an that Yuna is a real monster. I ant it as Yuna being remarkable because she can say that she has no weaknesses.” (Shinobu)
“If that’s the case, then I do agree…” (Noa)
Noa agreed.
No, I don’t agree with that.
“For now, no magic. Let’s fight with short swords.” (Jubei)
Juubei-san decided the content of the match. I have no problem with it, so I agreed.
Shinobu and I picked up so short swords.
It was dangerous to use real swords, so we used wooden swords.
Well, even if they were wooden swords, they could still injure you if you got hit in the wrong place, but they were still much safer than a real weapon.
“Does Yuna use two weapons as well?” (Shinobu)
Shinobu also had two short swords.
“One is fine, but if Shinobu uses two, then so will I.” (Yuna)
“Yuna really can do anything.” (Shinobu)
“It’s not that I can do anything, I’m just a jack of all trades, master of none.” (Yuna)
I didn’t have a weapon that I specialized in.
I tried my hand at everything.
You see, I mostly played gas solo (though I sotis ford parties), and there were weapons that made so quests easy to clear.
My character in the ga was mainly a magic swordsman, but I’ve also used knives and other kinds of weaponry as well.
“It’s incredible that you are not just a jack of all trades, master of none. But you can use two weapons as well.” (Shinobu)
“Um, is it that difficult to use two weapons?” (Noa)
Noa asked.
“That’s right. The easiest way to understand this is to imagine that there are various soups on a table. Then, hold a spoon in each hand and instantly try to drink the soup that you are instructed to eat. Normally, even if that specific soup was far away, you would use the spoon in your dominant hand to reach for it.” (Shinobu)
Noa and the others made the gesture of holding the spoon as Shinobu said.
“Uh, it’s certainly difficult.” (Noa)
“It’s not that it’s difficult to do, but it would be awkward if you are not used to it and would still tend to use your dominant hand.” (Shinobu)
“That’s what it ans to hold a weapon in both hands. What to do with the weapon in your right hand, what to do with the weapon in your left hand. You had to fight while always thinking about it.” (Jubei)
“It really is difficult to use two weapons at the sa ti, huh.” (Noa)
“But on the flip side, your opponent will also dislike you. It will be like fighting two people.” (Shinobu)
After Shinobu’s brief explanation, along with so additions from Jubei, Shinobu and I took so distance and faced each other with wooden short swords.
“I’m going to fight with the intention to learn from you.” (Shinobu)
“ as well.” (Yuna)
Shinobu took a breath and stepped forward.
Quick.
Just when I thought she’d stepped forward, she was already within my reach.
Shinobu closed the distance in one go and waved her the short sword in her right hand. I took a step back to dodge. Then Shinobu took another step forward, and the short sword she was holding in her left hand ca at . I deflected it with my short sword in my right hand. Shinobu used the montum of her step to pass by.
Two strikes in a split-second, it was a quick exchange of offense and defense.
With a normal opponent, that would have been the end.
I turned my eyes to where Shinobu had run past, and without a mont’s hesitation, she launched an attack.
This ti it was a combo.
The short swords she held in both hands ca flying at , right and left.
Shinobu moved left and right to make it harder for to block, but I blocked all of her attacks with my short sword.
Gradually, Shinobu’s face started to look impatient.
I deflected Shinobu’s short sword a little more forcefully.
Shinobu’s right hand was knocked back.
With her right arm knocked away, it left her body defenseless. With that opening, I attacked with the short sword I was holding in my right hand.
Shinobu blocked the short sword in my right hand with the short sword in her left hand.
But that was not the end.
I quickly returned my left hand that first deflected Shinobu’s short sword and delivered a follow-up attack with it.
Shinobu pulled her body back with force, causing my short sword to cut through the air. Shinobu then jumped back lightly to put so distance between us.
“Yuna, you’re really strong.” (Shinobu)
“Shinobu is more than strong enough I would say.” (Yuna)
“You blocked all my attacks with such ease…” (Shinobu)
“Should I have gone easy on you?” (Yuna)
“If you do that, I’ll get angry.” (Shinobu)
Shinobu said and prepared for the next clash.
Then the match between and Shinobu continued.
“I can’t move anymore.” (Shinobu)
Shinobu fell to the ground.
For the final clash, I grabbed Shinobu’s outstretched arm, twisted her body, and threw her away.
“Shinobu, do you now understand just how strong Yuna is?” (Jubei)
Juubei-san asked Shinobu.
“Yuna is better at everything, both in movent and prediction. Above all, her stamina is different. How can she move like that even though she’s dressed like a bear, which just by looking at her made imagine how difficult it is to move in that outfit?” (Shinobu)
“That’s right. First, it’s not that Yuna just had a lot of stamina. She only moves to the bare minimum.” (Jubei)
Shinobu often moved left and right to create openings for . I was mostly blocking attacks, so I didn’t move much.
“I’m losing confidence. How much experience did Yuna have to beco this strong?” (Shinobu)
“I want to know too. I think Yuna’s movents are the result of many battles. She has probably fought nurous opponents.” (Jubei)
“Is it that obvious?” (Yuna)
“I can tell by the experience of fighting her and watching her fight with Shinobu.” (Jubei)
I wondered if one would really be able to understand soone else’s experience if they reached the level of mastery that Juubei-san had reached?
“I’ve indeed fought many people just like Juubei-san said. I’ve fought with people using normal swords, great swords, spears, knives, dual swords, axes, hamrs, and other blunt weapons, and I’ve also fought people who use magic.” (Yuna)
But it was only in a ga after all.
However, that experience was useful in this world.
Well, even with that experience, what I have learned and accumulated would have been useless without my bear equipnt.
