After seven days of urgent travel, Kovis jumped off the back of the Stormhawk upon reaching Avalon Castle.
"Welco back, Master Kovis."
Tekatu, dressed in a simple robe, nervously imitated the manner of Brother Brandon in greeting and salutation.
"I returned for urgent matters, but I won’t stay long." Kovis nodded to the two, handing the reins to Brandon who ca forward to greet him: "Go and wipe down Xiao An to cool it off, and feed it later. It’s exhausted."
Not wasting words with his two students, Kovis hastened towards the Mage Tower behind the academy with an urgent pace.
Plunging headlong into the Magic Veil concealing the high tower, Kovis pushed open the tower door and swiftly rode the elevator up to the library.
Entering the orderly placed bookshelves of Magic Guidebooks, he casually pulled out a thick directory from under the shelf, then opened the notebook in his other hand. The pages turned on their own, flipping to the page recording the Soul Bell’s rune symbols and Demon Runes according to his will.
He read aloud the segnts he could recognize, and the directory of Magic Guidebooks began flipping its pages with a rustle, with the titles containing related segnts glowing.
Kovis scanned the surroundings, stood before each relevant bookshelf, and recited the book titles. Corresponding Magic Guidebooks imdiately jumped out of their positions and floated behind him.
Reciting entry after entry that needed reviewing, soon, the magical ancient books and scrolls following him were piled like a short wall.
Setting down the directory, he gazed back at the mountain of books behind him; even with Kovis’s patience, it induced a slight headache.
He needed to narrow down his search scope temporarily, otherwise he feared half a year at Avalon wouldn’t suffice to read through it all.
After so thought, Kovis recited several rune phrases consecutively, continuously combining and screening books containing the most important and related information.
When he uttered "Kleinian," the many Magic Guidebooks started to quiet down one by one, leaving only one still floating before him.
Only one book records this term?
Kovis was montarily stunned, allowing the black leather-bound ancient book to fall into his hands.
"Ring Gaia Travel Log"
—— Anonymous·Traveling Mage of the Mysterious Court.
He opened the book, and the first thing that caught his eye was the directory, beautifully listing a dazzling array of nas.
Death World·Nihyis... Steel Wasteland·Pandao... Ice and Snow World·Babad.... Broken Star·Suhuyaite... Horizon Star Island·Senite...
Despite being keenly intrigued by the exotic realm travels of this ancient star realm mage, Kovis resisted distraction, quickly locating the term he wanted to understand from the ranks order...
The pages rustled open, arriving at the latter half of the thick travel log.
The opening sentence was the ancient mage writer’s grievance:
Subjective period, 361,437 Gaia days, paying tribute to the approximately 99% omniscient Lord Arias.
It’s rare to find a star with intelligent life, yet there is not a trace of Natural Magic here. Just after leaving the Void, I almost suffocated, but fortunately, I can still draw so Chaos Magic from the Spirit Realm here, better than nothing.
But the starship I painstakingly reforged disintegrated in an instant; none of the constructs in the wreckage can operate.
Again relaying to Omlos, I truly hate these domains with differing material logic and mathematical laws. That damned two-dinsional plane trapped for a hundred years before I could reshape my body. Hopefully, here won’t have any weird toxins or laws killing once again.
The transition from the Spirit Realm back to the material plane is unpleasant. Who knows when Yin Nie’s power will notice ; I’m not ready to head to the Dead Sea so early...
I pray the beautiful Lord Illaril and the wise Lord Arias invent magic apparatus applicable throughout the Void soon...
Subjective period, 361,445 Gaia days...
This place seems to have an undeveloped Star Soul, but it doesn’t quite welco the power of the Spirit Realm, or is it , the unknown foreigner, it doesn’t welco?
What surprised more, the constant overcast skies obscuring the stars, is how the races here unbelievably resemble humans on Gaia, what a miracle.
You must know, even the Helarnians and Florians, born from the sa star, have bloodline and appearance differences bigger than those between them and wheat.
I should dissect a few corpses to examine the structure.
But seeing that this ti these beings who can talk and think are humans, not just energy balls, truly comforts .
....
Kovis frowned.
"This term refers to a different plane in the Void?"
He couldn’t be sure if this term from the Soul Bell coincided with this ancient mage’s travel log by coincidence.
But the ntion of clouds enshrouding that exotic realm startled Kovis, recalling the plane convergence invoked by the Great Magic Ceremony during the Undead War.
He felt a vague ominous foreboding arise within, imdiately continuing to read diligently...
...
Subjective period, 361,479 Gaia days.
So it is not perpetually night here; a group called the Dark Night Race shrouds the starlight to steal the power of the Dead Sea. It seems I have quite a few topics to discuss with the local mages; perhaps they can assist in repairing the starship?
....
(Profane curse in Ancient Lorelette)
The local mages are nothing but arrogant fools, rely fit to be called wizards, especially that hideous one nad Squash... Forgive for rarely attacking others’ appearances; I thought he admired my knowledge, didn’t expect he coveted my flesh, intending to make a slave.
What did Lord Illaril say?
An idiot who buys a box and cherishes the pearl.
I cannot endure such insult, so I decide to join the local human kingdom to overthrow Squash’s regi. These foreign people may not be powerful or smart enough, but at least they know to respect outsiders and knowledge.
...
......
Subjective period, 397,980 Gaia days.
That Squash is really hard to kill, even restoring the sunlight over the land couldn’t finish him. The sun here is just an ordinary material star, far from the might of the exalted Mosela.
This guy indeed has so skills in Life Science; if born on Gaia, he might have had a chance to be Lord Helmond’s student.
But he picked the wrong adversary, I know quite a few thods to deal with such undead. Next ti I travel, I will cast him into my fissure cage in the Spirit Realm to enjoy eternal happiness.
...
Ready to set off, taking a hundred years to repair the starship was indeed a miracle in a magic-devoid plane like this. Honestly, it’s more successful than I expected, even I don’t know how the starship’s power source recovered.
Although the locals warmly urged to stay, I won’t halt my journey; the title ’Traveling Mage’ was personally bestowed upon by Lord Illaril before departure. How could I sha this honor?
Moreover, the locals have already revered as God, which is truly embarrassing; they might as well worship the tender Star Soul beneath their feet more realistically.
Heavenly honesty, though Lord Illaril can’t spank now, I don’t share Novadin’s mischievous pleasure in deceiving the Felu Mountain People...
...It’s ti to leave, let ponder how to record this travel destination.
The locals now call their holand the Land Under the Sun’s Embrace, Star of Dawn.
In the Lorelette Language, it roughly translates to "Kleinian."
....
Kovis turned to the next page, finding it detailed a wholly different travel log, so he closed the ancient journal.
..... Bloodsucking eternal undead race.
The Eternal Night Cloud enshrouding the land.
A different plane, Kleinian.
This surely cannot be coincidence!
He must inform Leon imdiately.
Kovis set the journal aside and continued diving into the pile of books, hoping to uncover more clues...
