Chapter 679: Chapter 318: What are you doing here for ?

Following the scant mory of the Holy Sun Church’s Sanctuary architecture, Leon analyzed the route out of this massive temple as much as possible.

The last place he opened his eyes was the Oran Palace plunged into a massive crisis during the dead of night. Now, it was broad daylight, in what seed to be a Saint Sun Temple within Seryan. This stark difference in environnt made both of their minds flood like a spring.

Considering the exploding scene at the end of his mory, Leon used the imagination from fantasy novels he’d read in past lives to formulate so guesses.

Could it be that the ancient ritual under the Holy Sword Courtyard was actually a Magic Teleportation Gate?

Had he accidentally triggered its original function last night, being ‘blasted’ from the Orland Kingdom to the Seryan Kingdom by that magic?

Leon temporarily set aside these speculations. The imdiate priority was to leave the temple quickly. Whether this was indeed Seryan would be known once they got out.

Listening carefully to the ambient sounds, avoiding the occasional Holy Sun Priest like an assassin in hiding, Leon led Ines lightly and swiftly through the wide corridors.

He suddenly saw a few church priest attendants co out of a secluded small room carrying stacks of robes and miscellaneous items. Leon pulled Ines to hide at a corner. Once the priests walked away, he approached the door to listen, and confird there was no one inside. Using the Object Manipulation Technique, he flicked open the door lock and slipped inside.

The small room was piled with old and new priest robes. Leon promptly found two suitable ones for himself and Ines.

He helped Ines pull down her hood, significantly reducing their suspicious appearance.

Unfortunately, Leon didn’t find any shoes, so he could only lower the hem of the plain robes as much as possible to cover his feet.

Disguised as a priest attendant, they discreetly passed through the corridor and left through the palace’s side door. Even when they brushed past other attendants, they aroused no suspicion.

Carefully following the side of the courtyard from the side door, Leon and Ines boldly walked out of the temple in the gaze of the guards who didn’t look sideways.

Although the temple was a sanctuary, it wasn’t a restricted area. Many believers and priests went in and out daily, paying little attention to the large and small priest attendants leaving the temple.

Descending the long stairs from the high platform, distancing themselves from the religious area, they ca to the secular street. Leon looked at the sunny blue sky, the clean and tidy bustling streets, and couldn’t help but feel dazed for a mont.

Looking at the people coming and going outside the temple’s side door, and the street corners and alleys of Seryan-style architecture, the familiarity from the original owner’s mory gave a sense of misplaced nostalgia as if returning to a ‘hotown’.

Were they really ‘blasted’ to the Seryan Kingdom?

Ines, seeing the exotic street, lightly tugged Leon’s robe sleeve, “Where are we going now?”

Leon ca back to his senses, surveyed the street, and, leading her away from the temple behind, suggested steadily, “Let’s first find a place to settle down, and then ask the locals where exactly we are.”

Ines nodded and followed him, but couldn’t help glance sidewise and ask, “But, did you bring any money?”

Leon was taken aback, slowed his steps on the street, and reached into the inner pocket under the priest robe, finding only the closely kept Netti Card, with no other possessions.

He hadn’t been troubled by money for a long ti and almost forgot about it.

Last night, he hurried to rescue Ines without even putting on his coat, let alone bringing money. His valuable sword had been confiscated upon entering the palace, and the long sword he got from the Royal Palace Guard was destroyed in battle as a Magic Bomb. As for the Netti Card and Garner, they certainly couldn’t be pawned.

Unless he used magic to ‘pawn first and steal later’ to cheat the rchants accepting the pawn, otherwise, besides this suit, he had now beco penniless.

Leon turned his head awkwardly, “Your Highness, you, do you have any money on you?”

“No, I hardly ever carry coins.” Ines sighed. She rarely traveled alone, usually accompanied by Agatha or other guards, so she never needed to carry money.

The girl gently stroked her long hair loosened for the night’s rest under her hood. If only she still had her usual hair ornants, it would relieve their imdiate difficulties.

But fortunately, she again tugged the priest robe on her body, still finding sothing roughly valuable on her.

“My undergarnt is made of fine material and well-crafted, plus my boots are gemstone-studded; if pawned, they should fetch so money. After selling them, we can buy so inexpensive ordinary clothes.” The girl suggested.

Looking back at the unfamiliar foreign surroundings, without knowing exactly where they were, she only felt that before returning to familiar land, it would be wise to conceal her identity and dress plainly and low-key.

She twisted her head to look at Leon’s bare feet walking on the stone path.

Even though it seed Leon was consistently indifferent to the abrasions on his feet, she still wanted to quickly get so money to buy a pair of shoes to protect his bloody soles.

Leon thought of the luxurious lady’s outer garnt under Ines’ robe and sighed in relief. Indeed, as Princess Orland, any accessories she casually discarded would be highly valuable. The money they could get from Ines’ outer garnt and boots was bound to be more than ‘a little’ for ordinary people.

“Thank you, Your Highness; I was inconsiderate. Just now, I should have brought a couple of silver candlesticks from the temple.” Leon apologized.

Hearing this, Ines raised her eyebrows, her lips curling into a playful smile, “Stealing goes against the Knight’s Creed, Mr. Leon, and aren’t you afraid of the Desecration of the Holy Sun as a Seryan?”
