Chapter 658: Chapter 306 Knight Tournant_4
Leon glanced at the girl beside him and asked, “Have you been watching for too long and now itching to try? I’m sorry for not letting you participate in the two knight tournants.”
“It’s fine, observing many powerful knights is also quite interesting. For example, Baron Kellan, he’s really formidable, and I’m not confident I could necessarily defeat him. However, it would have been great to compete this ti…” Olivia looked at Leon as she spoke.
“The day before yesterday I watched the match of the Kantadar Knight who injured you. His na is ‘Valensis Arsene,’ right? How dare he co here! Hmph… It’s a pity I can’t enter the field; otherwise, I would definitely teach him a harsh lesson for you.” Olivia tightened her fingers around her husband’s palm, fuming with quiet resentnt.
She still rembered the heartache that almost stopped her heart when she saw Leon’s arm severed.
Leon smiled at his wife’s indignation, “Don’t worry, have so faith in . I might even make it to the end and get a chance to avenge him myself.”
He hadn’t expected the Peacock Knight, who had almost gotten him on the battlefield, to have co to Oran to participate in the tournant hosted by Lydwen.
The rumor was that he ca with the delegation of King Caso of Kantadar.
Such is the unpredictability of affairs. To think, during the Battle of Ustato, that Peacock Knight was an ally of the Southern Country’s rebel, Duke Ablo, and an enemy of the new king Caso.
Now, does he seem to have pledged loyalty to Caso instead?
Who knows how many twists and turns are involved behind this.
…
Soon after, Leon took Olivia and Kovis on a walk to the nearby warehouse and explained their purpose to the tournant’s quartermaster.
With over twenty Avalon mbers participating, the number of competition riding spears they had gone through in the matches was considerable, having exhausted those brought from the Baron Domain.
Though seven or eight Avalon Knights unfortunately encountered strong opponents and were eliminated from the individual combat, many advanced further, potentially requiring dozens or nearly a hundred more long spears for the entire Avalon team.
With such a large demand, Leon couldn’t just take them back on the sa day and would have to wait until after Lokhak’s match to arrange for a carriage to transport them.
He was careful not to neglect inspecting the quality of the spare long spears with the quartermaster; this would determine how much profit the Avalon team could bring ho from the tournant. They couldn’t be careless about this, not knowing if there might be any subpar items mixed into the equipnt supplied for the tournants.
Upon entering the large warehouse, moisture- and sun-proof, and filled with various competition riding spears and weapons, the quartermaster, with a booklet in hand, looked around and counted. He seed puzzled, recalling that a large batch was moved out yesterday for participating knights to purchase and use. But all of it was consud after his shift?
“Lord Pendragon, please follow further inside to search,” the quartermaster scratched his head and continued leading the way.
“What’s wrong with those?” Leon curiously pointed to riding spears piled nearby.
“Those have already been bought by other lords and are set to be transported to nearby stations soon,” the quartermaster replied with a helpless shake of his head.
Leon had no choice but to continue following deeper into the warehouse.
The quartermaster looked around, a bright look in his eyes as he walked over to inspect, and eagerly turned back to say, “Here we go. This batch appears to be newly delivered and is said to be made of high-quality Levia Poplar Wood. How do you find them?”
Seeing the pile of brand-new competition riding spears, Leon had no objections. He stepped forward to untie the straps and picked one up for inspection.
Indeed, the material and craftsmanship felt comndable…
Hmm? Was it an illusion, or did it feel slightly heavier than the ones bought previously?
