642: Chapter 301: Fa Soars…

or Tarnished?

The heavy doors of the library were open, and as they walked in, Leon handed over Ines’s letter at the managent desk.

Citing his Seryan background and interest in the history of the Orland Kingdom, he guided Olivia and Kovis toward the section where historical archives were preserved.

Entering the display area, a scent of old paper mixed with a faint aroma of ink greeted them.

Compared to the refined elegance of Lady Aphrodite’s Mage Tower library, the interior of the Oran University library seed far simpler in both decoration and furnishings.

The library hall had a high ceiling supported by sturdy oak beams which cast mottled shadows.

Along the walls stood tall bookshelves that reached from the floor to the ceiling, filled with parchnt scrolls and bound books.

The wide aisles between the shelves were very tranquil, with sunlight streaming through the stained glass windows on the walls and ceiling, casting a haze of light curtains.

Every so often, there was a long wooden table lined up, where deep grooves of varying shades, left by generations of students over hundreds of years, marked the surfaces.

Ink bottles, quills, and open books lay scattered, so scholars reading intently, others writing fervently, in a silent environnt where only the sounds of quill tips and turning pages floated.

Surveying the layout, Leon planned to build a library at Avalon Knowledge College in the future, perhaps drawing so inspiration from this century-old academy’s internal design.

As for how to fill the shelves with books…

Leon wasn’t worried about having enough knowledge to fill Avalon’s library.

The only issue was that he still struggled with efficiently translating the vast knowledge he possessed into words that people of this era could understand.

Lady Aphrodite’s library contained a vast number of advanced books from ancient civilizations.

Although they were primarily “Magic Guidebooks” on magic science, Lorelette’s magic science could also be considered a form of “science,” with knowledge fields that had erged during the developnt of magical civilization as nurous as the stars.

He and Kovis couldn’t understand the more advanced Magic Guidebooks yet, but even the simplest phrases in those books contained knowledge far surpassing the current era’s human civilization.

Astronomy, geography, matter, elents, space-ti dinsions, animals, plants, spirits…

These are all essential common knowledge distilled from countless years of wisdom of ancient civilizations, invaluable to people of this era.

However, most of the books in the Mage Tower library are written in “Lorelette Language,” with even so written in “Helarn Dwarf Language,” “Yisuya Elf Language,” and even “Dragon Language,” along with so bizarre languages that even with a reference guide, are hard to decipher.

For Leon and Kovis, identifying Magic Guidebooks written in Lorelette Language was already extrely challenging.

They couldn’t understand a bit of other languages’ texts.

If it weren’t for Kovis already knowing so Lorelette Language, and the two of them miraculously finding an ancient introductory Magic Guidebook written in Felu Language in the Mage Tower library, allowing them to study comparatively, Leon reckoned that even if he got Lady Aphrodite’s Mage Tower, he could only admire the ocean of ancient civilization knowledge.

Even now, after extensive learning of Lorelette Language with Olivia and Kovis, relying solely on the three of them to transcribe and translate ancient texts in the Mage Tower, the efficiency was still too low.

In these days following the war’s end, he, Kovis, and Olivia would each spend so ti daily, choosing the most crucial parts for domain developnt and transcribing and re-editing them into Felu Language booklets as efficiently as possible.

But with the quills practically smoking from exhaustion, they’ve only compiled ten books covering fields like agriculture, alchemy, dicine, and basic engineering so far.

Even those few volus hardly stuffed are almost squeezing out their daily leisure ti to the limit, since this isn’t rely transcribing; it’s complex work integrating searching, understanding, selecting, re-editing, and translating.

To be honest, besides Kovis seeming to enjoy it, both Leon and Olivia found this task sowhat daunting.

Azeryan learned so Lorelette Language and wanted to help, but the administrative affairs in the territory were busy, and he had to take on the role as the administrative head.

As for Lokhak…

the lad would rather charge into a den of Demons for a bloody battle than endure the torture of an ocean of ancient civilization knowledge.

His Lorelette Language was stuck at just knowing so ancient greetings and swear words.

In the future, it would be inevitable to open part of the Mage Tower collection for other trustworthy individuals to help translate ancient texts.

Otherwise, relying only on the three of them, they might not be able to complete all the transcript translation tasks in the Mage Tower collection even in their lifeti, and they wouldn’t be able to do anything else.

Of course, this issue can’t be rushed.

Even if they wanted soone to help, others would first need to learn Lorelette Language.

And within Avalon, aside from the three of them, there’s no one else who could sowhat teach this language.

Among the current ancient language learners, limited by the shortage of responsible instructors, only Magic Apprentice Brandon, Miss Elena, and several female officials, along with Lena and the few household servants, were taking the course.

However, once the Magic Academy officially opens, this ancient language class will beco a compulsory course for future Magic Apprentices.

…Walking through layer upon layer of bookshelves, they reached the area indicated by the manager.

To be honest, Leon didn’t hold much hope for these archival docunts recording past national events.
