568: Chapter 269: The Battle of Fenlidun_3 568: Chapter 269: The Battle of Fenlidun_3 Stepping on its back, the girl gritted her teeth and twisted forcefully.

Crack!

The terrifying burst of energy masked the sharp sound of bones snapping.

The clawing and gnashing monster instantly lost control of its body.

As the monster’s head twisted backward, Olivia agilely kicked away from the undead monster and leaped back into the cavalry ranks below.

“Lokhak!”

Upon hearing the girl’s shout, the burly knight glanced her way, swiftly reached out with his left hand, grabbed her arm armor, and forcefully flung her forward.

Hurled high into the air, Olivia leveraged the montum, flipped mid-air, adjusted her balance slightly, and landed lightly.

With a few steps over the shoulders of nearby knights, she had already returned to her galloping warhorse at the front.

Leon charged past the Bat Ghost that had just been shot down by the Magic Gun.

In passing, he swiftly yanked the Garner spear embedded in the monster and gripped it tightly as he led the army deeper into the city.

Penetrating into the Phantomshade Domain’s city interior, two thousand elite forces tore through enemy lines like a storm.

Leon recalled Kovis’ earlier aerial observation: the feigned attack strategy had successfully lured away at least twenty thousand undead.

The remaining enemy forces within the city numbered no more than ten thousand, scattered across various locations.

With his elite alliance troops confronting each undead wave thodically, they left trails of destruction in the ghost city, as though encountering no resistance at all.

But Leon knew the ti left was short.

The five thousand troops harrying the enemy troops on the outskirts were enduring a siege by four tis their number of undead.

The altars must be destroyed swiftly.

Advancing toward the inner city, Leon imdiately ordered Lokhak to lead the Avalon Knights to attack the nearest altar.

Irem was to lead the Holy Lake Knights to destroy the altar in the Lower City District.

Leon himself, alongside Olivia, would lead the Griffin rcenary Group’s heavy cavalry and the Baldim family knights to assault the Undead Bell Tower in the Upper City.

The forces split into three teams and embarked on separate missions.

Carrying the Holy Lamp and brandishing Garner, Leon bloodied his path through the Corpse Ghost Army lining the streets, the closer he drew to the city’s Main Altar, the more pervasive the vengeful spirits and wandering ghosts beca.

Torches could only frighten the wandering souls but couldn’t truly eradicate them.

Without magical weaponry, the mortal army was thankfully protected by Leon and the accompanying wizards’ Holy Lamp barriers and spells.

The knights cleaved through the Corpse Ghosts, while Leon and the southern wizard continually repelled approaching wandering souls.

After sustaining considerable casualties, they finally reached the Upper City’s plaza.

Leaving the Kantadar soldiers to guard the rear against the relentless Corpse Ghosts, Leon and Olivia dismounted.

The golden-haired girl abandoned her cavalry spear, unsheathed the Victory Sword, and swiftly carved a path into the Bell Tower.

Leaving the unwieldy Magic Gun embedded in the floor by the entrance, Leon drew his sword, gripped the Holy Lamp, and followed Olivia closely.

They kicked the door open and stord into the building, where two Undead Knights stood guard at the staircase entrance.

The Corpse Demon Knights suddenly raised their heads, Kantadar visages hidden beneath battle helts, their ghost lights flickering ominously.

They gripped their ornate longswords and roared as they attacked, one from the left, the other from the right.

“Make it quick!” Leon raised his sword and advanced.

Olivia mirrored his movents on the opposite side, sweeping forward with a slash, forcibly knocking away the enemy’s longsword with one strike, and following up with a powerful kick.

Bang!

With a resounding thud, the knight girl’s steel boots sent the foe crashing heavily into a row of benches behind.

anwhile, Leon parried expertly, diverting the angle of a slash with ease.

The blade, still deadly in the eyes of a common warrior, seed sluggish and predictable to him.

Its trajectory held few variations, revealing the pitiful remnants of martial technique the Undead Knight could wield—no more than a third of its pre-death prowess.

Leon’s sword deflected the chipped and rusted blade, his body turning as his single-handed stab pierced through the straps of the corpse’s shin armor.

He dodged another swing with a graceful twist.

With only a rip in his cloak as collateral, he reversed his grip on the sword hilt and struck the iron latch at the back of the undead knight’s helt.

Clang!

Though the poml couldn’t knock the undead unconscious, it successfully unfastened the connection between its helt and neck guard.

The undead shook its head furiously, its motions blind with rage, charging at Leon once more.

Taking half a step back, Leon swung the Guardian Spirit Holy Lamp in his hand.

Another clang rang out as the magical artifact’s corner struck the loosened battle helt, sending it flying off the undead’s skull.

Before Leon could move in for a decisive strike, a familiar Victory Blade pierced through the corpse’s skull from behind.

He turned his head to see the other Undead Knight already dismantled into pieces by his Golden Lion Knight.

The girl withdrew her sword and executed a horizontal slash, cleanly beheading the Corpse Demon Knight.

Leon kicked away the collapsing corpse and stord toward the staircase within the tower alongside her.

Monts later, the Kantadar knights battling the Corpse Ghosts in the plaza heard the toll of a bell from above.

As if an invisible force rippled outward.

The dense sea of undead before them suddenly froze, slowing and stiffening in place…
