[MUSIC RECOMNDATION: TRIGGER ~ SEORI]

The word ’abandoned’ replayed in Cortez’s mind as he turned to look at Axilla. Who would abandon a harmless girl like her? She was soone who only brought joy to people’s lives. Why would her own mother abandon her?

"I’ll appreciate it if you don’t tell her about it. It would break her heart to know that she was never wanted by her birth mother. Let’s keep that innocence for her. Okay?" Nix asked Cortez, who replied with a nod.

Far away from where Cortez and Nix were having their conversation, Axilla stood with Kayla, who wouldn’t stop rambling about the King.

"Axilla!! You didn’t explain to well that the King is a heavenly being," Kayla exclaid, pinching her friend. Ever since she got to the palace, she hadn’t been able to see the king this close before.

Axilla sighed, "He’s from Wahels," the girl muttered.

Kayla shook her head, "Except Wahel is an extension of heaven. Look at his eyes; they’re like pearls. Is that his real hair color? I haven’t seen soone like that before. This won’t do, Axilla. I want to stay in the palace. I have to stay in the palace," she declared firmly.

Axilla shook her head, "Kayla, I believe you haven’t seen Queen Kitanna fight. You’ll be like a fly in her presence, so it won’t take much ti for her to squash you. Stop dreaming," she nudged her friend.

"She’s so lucky to have soone like that. He is so handso," Kayla sighed, thinking about the king. But then she rembered soone else. "Then the guard I told you about, the nice one with angelic kindness. He’s not taken, right?" Kayla asked excitedly.

Axilla twitched her lips, "I don’t know the person you’re talking about. Point him out for ."

"He’s here already; there he is," Kayla pointed at Chantal, who was now walking towards them.

Axilla’s eyes widened as she took a step back. "K-kayla, tell sothing. Did you tell this your angelic guard what I said about the king’s personal guard?" Axilla prayed earnestly that Kayla didn’t ntion all those insults to Chantal.

"Yes, that’s when he promised to save from the nuisance. Where are you going, Axilla? You need to greet him," Kayla insisted, holding her friend firmly as Chantal approached them with a deathly glare directed to Axilla which caused the girl to gulp.

Axilla shook her head, "Kayla, I’ll greet him next ti. I just realized that Queen Kitanna asked for . I’ll be right back." She tried to wriggle her hands free from Kayla’s firm grip as Chantal approached them with steady calculated steps.

Kayla waved her hands, "Rubbish. I saw Lady Larel helping the Queen out. Just a few minutes won’t kill you, will it?" she asked.

"It will. A few minutes is enough to kill ," Axilla cried the mont Chantal got close to them.

Chantal grinned while cracking his knuckles, making spine-chilling sounds. "Welco back ho, Axilla. We have a lot to catch up on."

"You both know each other already? Axilla, you said you didn’t know him," Kayla pointed out, confused.

Axilla gulped, "Chantal, I can explain. What I ant was that the king’s personal guard is soone very strong and powerful."

Kayla furrowed her brows, "No, you said a big nuisance that should be avoided."

"Kayla, shut it!" Axilla exclaid.

Chantal tied a band on his knuckles, "Let’s see how powerful he is, shall we?" He stretched his hand forward to grab Axilla, who dodged. Soon, they started running around Kayla, with Chantal trying to catch Axilla while she tried to escape.

Cortez stood far away and watched the girl; she was really happy, unaware of the sad story behind her birth. He wanted to give her all the best in life, where she didn’t have to worry about having parents.

Cortez didn’t want to imagine the look on Axilla’s face when she realized that she was abandoned. All those smiles and happiness would vanish, and he didn’t want that. He sighed deeply.

A few days passed in Morado until it was finally the day for Cortez and Axilla to leave the palace and head back to the rchant village.

"Axilla, make sure you visit from ti to ti," Kitanna hugged the girl.

Axilla nodded her head, "Queen Kitanna, I’ll really miss you. And let know when you give birth; I’ll arrive in Morado imdiately," she replied.

Axilla got down on her heels and hugged Labre, "Next ti I see you, you will be all grown. I hope you don’t forget . I am Aunt Axilla," she hugged the little boy gently.

"Clephas, Severus, please continue to take care of yourselves. I’ll always visit when I can," Axilla said to the n who were now battling with old age but still enjoyed their ti in the palace.

Larel was the next person at the door, and when Axilla pulled her into a hug, she said, "Axilla, there’s sothing you have to know... Cortez..." but then the door opened, and Cortez walked inside.

"The carriage is ready, Axilla. Let’s go."

Axilla turned to Larel, "You were saying sothing; what is it?" She asked with a small smile.

Larel blinked her eyes, "No, I wasn’t. Maybe you heard wrong. Safe travels and do write to us when you get the chance," she hurriedly left the room.

Axilla shook her head, "I was sure she wanted to say sothing," she muttered under her breath before packing her remaining bags to take them outside.

Larel walked towards the garden holding her chest. She sighed.

"What do you think you are doing?" She turned when she heard Cortez’s voice.

Larel gulped, "She deserves to know the truth. I wanted to tell her."

Cortez smiled, "If she’s going to know the truth, then let be the one to tell her. It’s my life, not yours," he said firmly.

"Larel, you’ve been doing great all this while. Don’t ruin it. If anyone should tell Axilla about , it should be , not you," Cortez completed and turned to leave the place when Larel said to him,

"Are you ever going to tell her? You haven’t accepted the truth yourself, so how do you think you would be able to tell soone else? If you really love her like you say you do, tell her Cortez. Tell her who you really are and let her accept you," Larel said in a low voice.

Cortez stopped in his tracks, turning his face to the side without looking at Larel before he walked away from there.

Larel stood there alone as she watched Cortez’s back disappear from her sight.

"What was that about?" Larel was startled by the voice.

Kitanna, who was only passing, heard the argunt between two siblings but beca interested when she heard Axilla’s na.

Larel wiped the tears that now ford in her eyes, "Actually, there’s sothing you need to know..." Her voice trailed.
