Chapter 150: WEDDING AT FERRER
[MUSIC RECOMNDATION:HEART OVER MIND ~ ALAN WALKER FEAT DAYA]
"Are you sure the bird would go directly to the palace?" Larel asked, pressing her lips gently. It’s been over two hours since the bird was summoned.
Axilla tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear. "I don’t know." She was not sure, especially after the owner of the bird suggested that there was sothing like a food cycle. Of all tis, it was now the food cycle would take effect. And especially the clumsy way they had summoned the bird.
’We have a bird to summon,’ Axilla had told Larel, but when she blew the whistle, there was no sign of the bird for so many minutes.
’What if the bird doesn’t want to answer us today?’ Larel had asked, as each mont made her tensed up.
Soon, a bird flew to their window, turning its head to look at the two won who were fascinated by its presence.
’Is that the bird?’ Axilla asked Larel, who was now looking at her with confusion.
’How am I supposed to know?’ the woman waved her hands, almost startling the bird.
’Let’s not scare it away, ok calm down Axilla. Um.... Good morning Lady or Master bird. Ok.... I don’t know, I’ll just tie these sowhere’ Axilla said moving closer to the bird, just as she moved closer the bird moved back.
’Let’s not give the ssage to a random bird,’ Larel muttered, watching what the young maid was doing.
Gently, after gaining the bird’s trust, Axilla finally secured the parchnt on the bird’s leg. She wiped the sweat on her face after it. It was as if it took her long years to get it done, and when she was done, she felt proud of herself.
’What next?’ Larel asked, wiping the sweat on the side of her face with the back of her palm.
’Go on, Bird, umm... to Morado... oh wait, whistle, whistle,’ Axilla picked up the whistle and did as she was instructed, and just then the bird took flight.
’It left! It got the ssage!’ Larel clapped her hands excitedly.
Axilla shook her head, ’Lady Larel, I think I made a mistake in the number of tis I blew the whistle,’ the young maid tapped her feet nervously.
Back to the present ti, the two of them sat in their room praying that the bird got the accurate ssage. Ti was already going with every passing second; soon, the wedding would start.
"We should make other plans in case the bird was not the real one." Larel sighed, pulling the heavy hairpin from her hair. She was about to get married again!
Axilla walked back to the window checking to see if the real bird would appear, but it was just the soft wind that was blowing her hair.
The next minute, a knock was heard on their door, and this startled both Larel and Axilla. It reminded them that they had a wedding to dress up for.
"Princess, the crown prince has asked you to get ready. The wedding would be held earlier," Aria the maid announced before leaving the door.
"Lady Larel, we should get ready," Axilla said in a low defeated voice. It was evident that there was nothing they could do.
Larel used her palm to cover her face. "I don’t want to marry that crown prince even as a mistake." She muttered, trying to compose herself. It’s not been long she beca free from the marriage with Khelan now she was being forced to marry again. Was there so kind of fault in her marriage star, Larel thought to herself.
A ruffling sound was heard at the window; Axilla rushed to take a look at it.
"Lady Larel, co see." Her voice held the hint of excitent as she looked outside the window.
Larel raised her face, walking towards the window she caught sight of a pigeon. It was the sa pigeon they had summoned earlier.
"See, the ssage is missing. It has been delivered!" Axilla smiled excitedly; she couldn’t contain her happiness.
"Are you sure it’s the sa bird? What if it lost what we gave-"
"Lady Larel! Let’s have faith," Axilla cried, stopping the lady from completing her negative words. It was normal for people to be all negative when they are facing tough situations but a little faith helped too.
As the big red ball in the sky started to take a bow behind the clouds, making the presence of the magnificent night. Inside one of the guest rooms, the bride for the wedding was now fully dressed with a veil hiding her face while her maid stood in front of her.
"I don’t know if this is the best ti to say this, but you really make a beautiful bride," Axilla let out a dry smile, trying to give the lady hope. They have taken their ti to get Larel dressed, waiting for soone to save them, but nobody had burst into the room trying to rescue them.
"Well, even though you did not see
for my first wedding. It’s a blessing in disguise that you’re seeing
now, right?" Larel added, trying to lift up their spirit. That was the only thing they could do in what seems like a hopeless situation.
Axilla nodded in addition, she moved closer to hold Larel’s hands. "We’ll be fine, the white Lord and Princess Kitanna would do everything to find us. And I know the young master, he promised to always keep
safe." Even though she didn’t know if that pass has expired since she returned to the palace. The young maid sighed.
It was finally ti for the wedding it was just few persons who were in attendance; Axilla was not allowed to move any further, as Larel made her way to where the crown prince stood, grinning like an idiot. Axilla caught sight of Lady Hash sitting comfortably on her chair, while others were standing. She sipped casually from her cup like the wedding was not a serious one.
Larel tried to walk as slow as possible, praying that ti would just stop so she would run away with Axilla. But the guests started murmuring when her footsteps got very slow, she finally got to the altar, putting her small hands on the stretched ones of the crown prince. She stood in front of him, her heart pounding very fast.
After the blessings were given, it was now ti for the crown prince to remove the veil and see the face of his bride. Moving the veil to the back, the smile on his face fell.
"Y-you..where is the princess?" His brows furrowed in confusion.
Larel held her gown tightly, as her most feared mont finally arrived when the crown prince opened his mouth to shout. She shut her eyes close.
"Imposter!" The young prince shouted, but when he looked at the crowd, soldiers of Morado had already surrounded the whole place.
"Crown prince Lasance! You have been charged with a lot of cris already let’s not waste ti ntioning them, Arrest him." Nix ordered.
Axilla almost cried when she saw Princess Kitanna dismount the horse, and beside her was the young master and white Lord.
Larel removed the veil and heavy hairpin from her hair, as she rushed down to hug the princess. It was an emotional mont for her.
"What took you so long?" Larel whispered, holding the princess tightly.
Axilla stood still, despite her closeness to the noblewon she still knows her stand as a maid.
"You did well my bright flower," Axilla turned to et the dreamy eyes of the young master. Without thinking she hugged him tightly.
"I knew you would co." She finally let the tear leave her eyes.
Cortez smiled patting the girl’s back, after a few minutes with Axilla. He walked to where Lady Hash still sat amidst the chaos.
"Lady Hash, thank you so much." Cortez bowed to the woman.
"Cortez, I should thank you for saving
the second hand embarrassnt of that dumb crown prince. I was ashad of him." The woman sighed, dropping her cup on the table.
"What would happen to his kingdom?" Lady Hash asked standing up with the help of Cortez.
"That was what took our ti, we got the stamp of all the seven representing ministers. Morado would now take over Ferrer, since it’s a small kingdom. Lasance’s actions are not one fit for a king." Cortez replied, taking the woman to the already prepared a carriage.
"Let’s go back to the palace. We have a lot to talk about." Kitanna smiled, mounting her horse. She was already tired with the day’s activities, after being locked up in place of Larel, while Larel was abducted in her place. It was a whole funny rollercoaster of events and she needed to rest, and she knew it was not just her. Every one of them looked very tired.
