"Do you hear yourself?"
Everyone’s attention snapped to a single spot as the scream of pure shock echoed through the room. Yujin was standing, pale as a ghost, completely out of his mind.
"This is wrong. This can't be right, it's a lie. Ah, that's it, he must not have been in his right mind. Campbell... he was so sick, wasn’t he? He couldn’t have been thinking clearly. If not that, then sothing went wrong. Yes, that’s it. The USB—sothing must have been switched. Yes, that has to be it. Otherwise, this makes no sense at all. This is impossible!"
"Winston."
His mother whispered softly beside him, urging him to say sothing. But Yujin was rambling on, utterly incoherent. He was clearly in shock, too overwheld to speak properly. Assuming that the will’s contents had gone far beyond what Yujin expected, Winston hesitated to speak. He hadn’t heard a single word of the will.
He had been too deep in his fantasies of violating that filthy whore.
Winston slowly looked around the room. For the first ti, he noticed the others’ faces. It didn’t help much. Everyone was confused, faces full of embarrassnt and disbelief, glancing at each other or at Winston. Sothing serious had just been revealed.
"Again."
Winston finally spoke, his tone slow and heavy. Yujin fell silent instantly, and so did the entire room. All eyes were now on Winston, who stared directly at Yujin as he continued.
"Play it again. Let’s be sure of what we heard."
No one objected. Not because they agreed, but because no one dared to defy him. Winston tore his eyes away from Yujin and focused on the screen at last. Finally, the contents of his father’s will reached his ears.
At first, nothing stood out. The boring listing of inheritances dragged on and Winston listened patiently. Even as it was declared that all the estate, excluding previously ntioned portions, would go to Winston, he remained composed. He thought he understood why Yujin had reacted so fiercely.
But then ➤ NоvеⅠight ➤ (Read more on our source) ca the next part.
"...All inheritances above are conditional on Winston Campbell marrying Yujin Seol and having a child within one year."
Winston slowly uncrossed his legs and sat upright. Though his expression did not change, everyone could sense the shock radiating from him. But that wasn’t the end.
"Should this will not be fulfilled, all assets will be donated to charity and the company transferred to professional managent. Furthermore, all mbers of the Campbell family, including Winston, shall relinquish all rights and claims to the estate. Execution of the will shall proceed only after the condition is satisfied within a year."
One of Winston’s eyebrows twitched violently. His pheromone scent intensified again, but this ti for a very different reason. Yujin fidgeted restlessly as though about to raise an objection, but the will continued.
"...During the marriage, Winston must remain faithful to Yujin. Affairs, including pheromone parties, are strictly forbidden, and he must provide for Yujin’s lifestyle without fail. This all applies only if the marriage is consummated. Should they fail to marry or abide by these terms, all rights are void, and Yujin receives nothing. However, if Yujin fulfills the marriage contract and the marriage later dissolves, Winston must pay him two million dollars per month for life."
Harold coughed violently on screen. Shaken by the heavy coughing, he forced out his final words between ragged breaths. Though faint and hoarse, his last words were painfully clear.
"Yujin, I love you. I’m so, so sorry. May God bless you."
With his pale, haggard face smiling faintly, Harold’s image froze and the will ended.
Heavy silence fell over the study. Only now did Winston truly understand why everyone had been so shaken.
Marriage?
The words of the will replayed over and over in his head.
Have a child? With Yujin and ?
Winston stared blankly at the frozen screen, his face as rigid as a mask.
My father wants to marry that filthy whore and have a child?
"This is insane!"
A sudden scream shattered the silence and jolted Winston back to life. His eyes shot toward Yujin, who stood up again, pale and trembling, fists clenched tightly.
" and Winston? Marriage? And a child too? Are you insane? This is nonsense! He couldn’t have been in his right mind. He was about to die! Everyone loses clarity near death... yes, that’s it. Harold was out of his mind!"
"My father was perfectly lucid."
Winston’s cold voice cut him off. As if to support that, the lawyer nodded firmly.
"You saw the beginning of the will. Three physicians confird his ntal state. Mr. Campbell was fully aware and his pheromone levels were remarkably low. This will is absolutely valid."
Color drained from Yujin’s face. He looked like he had been hit over the head, staring blankly before slowly shaking his head and muttering.
"No... this can’t be..."
As he repeated the sa words helplessly, Winston shifted his gaze slowly. His father’s image on the frozen screen ca into view. Narrowing his eyes, Winston glared at him and twisted his lips bitterly.
Father, even to the very end, you’ve fucked over.
"How could this happen!"
Callia’s furious roar rang throughout the reception room. It was rare for her to lose control like this. In their entire lives, her children had seen her in this state only once before. Winston, who had not been present back then, now showed no particular reaction. As always, he simply sat there expressionless, deep in thought.
Watching their always poised and elegant mother shouting in rage, none of the children dared to speak. But that wasn’t all. Unable to contain herself, Callia paced around the room, cursing her late husband bitterly.
"How could he leave such a will behind! I want to dig up Harold’s grave and burn his body! That shaless, despicable man! He tornted all his life, and now he humiliates like this... leaving everything to that filthy thing..."
Marrying that whore and having a child? Impossible. Unacceptable. Giving more money to a kept man than to his lawful wife? Callia was so humiliated and furious that she poured out her true feelings in harsh, unfiltered words.
"Filthy scum! He should’ve died the mont he collapsed that day! I should have shot him in the head before he could write that will! That’s what I should have done!"
Gordon grew worried that his mother might collapse from fury. But despite her terrifying anger, none of the children could do anything. They were confused too, with no idea how to deal with this nightmare. All they could do was agree with their mother and curse their father.
"We can’t let this go. We have to do sothing."
Gordon spoke up, and Lady Katherine quickly followed.
"Of course. There’s no way we can accept this absurd will. Father must have lost his mind. There’s no other explanation."
When Katherine’s words ran dry, George stepped in to continue.
