Chapter 1337: Chapter 248, Fallen Angel_3

Upon hearing Robert’s reply, Pope Shelter VII furrowed his brows even tighter. His intuition told him that these people seed intent on driving away the stationed offerings on the Holy Mountain.

In fact, as a religious organization, the Clergy has not been entirely without contributions to humanity.

Mount of Light, being both a religious sanctuary and a prison, has held nurous special Evil Gods from Different Dinsions.

Due to the unique origins of these Evil Gods, they cannot be killed by conventional ans and can only be eroded slowly by divine power.

After countless years of attrition, most of these Evil Gods have died, leaving only a few gasping for their last breaths.

However, the tradition of strongn guarding the mountain has been preserved. Yet, as the number of Evil Gods dwindled, the level of attention also waned.

In the past, Human Race strongn would take turns stationed as guardians, but now only a Clergy strongman remains, while the rest have retreated overseas.

Nominally, it was to guard the Evil Gods, but in reality, it also safeguarded the Clergy. However, under the influence of the heavens and earth, the stationed strongman rarely took action to prevent accelerated loss of life.

Vaguely, Shelter VII felt that signaling for reinforcents earlier might have been a mistake, and it was likely that the enemy had further sches waiting for them.

“I am already here!”

“You little ones really know how to stir up a storm!”

The drifting voice echoed in everyone’s ears. A young man suddenly appeared in the crowd’s midst.

If judging purely by appearance, this man seed far younger than the other figures from the Sanctuary present, but his aura made everyone’s hearts tremble.

Seeing who had arrived, Pope Shelter VII’s face turned pale. Clearly, this ancient fixture of the Clergy harbored significant dissatisfaction with the Pope.

No excuses mattered; with the enemy already lurking at the foot of the Holy Mountain, it clearly reflected poorly on his leadership.

Just as he was about to say sothing, dark clouds rose abruptly from the Holy Mountain, veiling the moonlight. Countless Undead creatures erged from the ground and launched an attack on the crowd.

In an instant, the cries of battle echoed across heavens and earth. The once serene and sacred site transford into mortal hell.

Even at the base of the Holy Mountain, one could distinctly feel the mountain’s malevolent aura.

This sudden upheaval rendered the atmosphere on the field extraordinarily grave, teetering on the brink of an all-out and most ferocious slaughter.

“Senior, the perturbations on the mountain have nothing to do with us.

According to the Human Alliance’s regulations, the Sanctuary must not participate in worldly wars. We are rely here as observers!”

These words ca from an elder within Frank’s team.

It was evident that, while he respected the young man before him, he was not fearful of him.

Clearly, the Human Alliance’s regulations still effectively restrained even powerful figures.

While outsiders believed the Human Alliance was established by various nations of the Human Race, in truth, the initial architects of the Alliance were the strongest individuals among humanity.

Though countless generations passed, and the original founders beca history, new strongn among the Human Race had stepped in to continue their legacy.

These individuals practiced in seclusion overseas, rarely involving themselves in continental disputes, yet secretly monitored the Human Alliance’s operations.

Otherwise, given humanity’s penchant for internal strife, the Alliance would have crumbled long ago amid myriad tribulations.

“Hmph!”

“They’ve already stated that the Sanctuary must not interfere in worldly wars. Why are you all still standing around? Get back to stabilize the rear imdiately!”

The young man rebuked sternly.

The Sanctuary’s nonparticipation in worldly wars was a rule binding both sides. The other party could exploit it, but so could they.

Rather than fighting these few individuals tooth and nail, it was better to retreat, handle their aftermath, and settle the accounts another day.

With this realization, Pope Shelter VII shot Robert and the others a vicious glare before promptly ordering, “Retreat!”

At that mont, changes occurred on the Holy Mountain as well. Spurred by the external invasion, several stationed red-robed cardinals imdiately decided to initiate angel summoning.

Countless n and won were pushed onto the altar, their wrists slashed to let blood flow into the blood pool.

Under the illumination of Holy Light, a portal slowly opened. The prepared Saint Son and Saint Daughter approached the front with devout expressions, ready to welco the angels’ descent.

The presiding red-robed cardinal took out a pre-prepared crystal ball, distributing it among the Saint Sons and Saint Daughters.

The blood-scent emitted by the crystal ball shattered the once sacred scene, simultaneously drawing the attention of angels beyond the portal.

A sudden angelic soul stread through to select one Saint Son, imdiately taking possession. Then ca a second, a third… angels followed one after another.

Just as everyone thought the summoning had succeeded, a cup filled with an ominous liquid was poured into the blood pool. The descending angels began to undergo horrific transformations.

Their once white wings turned blood-red in an instant, and the aura of sanctity was replaced by a wicked allure.

“Fallen Angels!”

The presiding red-robed cardinal exclaid in terror.

If angels are ssengers of the Lord of the Dawn, Fallen Angels are wanderers of the Abyss.

The two share identical appearances except for their contrasting tones, clearly indicating they are derivatives of the sa species.

While angels signify auspiciousness, Fallen Angels embody slaughter. From the mont of their birth, Fallen Angels harbor extre enmity toward Divine Spirits.

Upon recognizing the Fallen Angels, the Clergy personnel on-site imdiately realized they were in catastrophic trouble.

For angels to undergo corruption during their descent—that was sacrilege!
