Vesh and the other four were led to a large underground chamber.

There were tens of big cages inside, each one holding around twenty people.

Vesh visibly trembled, but only for a second before he composed himself.

"These are our arranged sacrifices. But we are only 6% done. To acquire more power and completely dominate this region with kingdoms under our control, we still need to gather a lot of them."

The bald man looked at them and clicked his tongue. "The difficulty is barely keeping them alive while increasing our stock until we reach our target. We need a lot of food and water, after all, even if we give it to them only a little every day."

"Sacrifices must be alive."

The bald man turned to Vesh and smiled. "You can pick people you want from here, except for that pitch-black-covered cage at the end. They are our special sacrificial kids below the age of 10, who will give us quite a powerful Tenebrous Rune. They need to be marinated for a month with suffering before using them."

"Hmmm? Why are you shaking?" The bald man looked at Viana in her sleek frock-like tallic suit with flickering pink eyes, as she couldn’t bear to see the state of the people here, especially the last part about the kids.

"She is shaking because of this," Vesh spoke up, and the mont the bald man looked at him in response, a large cross lit up in the dimly lit chamber across the bald man’s body.

Thud! Dud! Thad!

Four body parts fell to the ground before the sli sword in Vesh’s hand turned liquid and rged back with his suit.

"We can’t bomb this place since people are here, so..." Vesh paused, his white eyes brightening. "Go and kill everyone else in the cult."

...

Kayan was the first one to co out of the underground chamber, and he made his entrance with a commotion, blasting the house within which the passage to the underground was situated.

BOOOM!

Cult mbers were startled by the blast, and then sothing started raining.

"It’s red."

"It’s blood?"

"W-what’s going on?!"

"Watch out!"

From above, everyone saw a half-ter-tall humanoid holding two small scythes, adorned in a crimson-black tallic suit with red neon patterns, and a draconic tail extending behind.

Kayan landed right in the middle of a group of five cult mbers, all of them at Sprout-rank.

"Wh—"

A rotating red line flickered twice in a second at such speed that only a faint crimson line was briefly visible before all five of their upper halves slid off and fell.

"ATTACK!"

"WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!"

Suddenly, the brightness of the day dimd as shadows expanded, forming a domain that covered up to the cult’s periter.

Rovina erged while floating and landed on the roof of a building, her technique pinning every single cult mber to the ground through their shadows.

"Bwahahaha! Hold them down!"

Arga jumped out and manifested a huge sword of fla in his hand before sweeping it across the plaza where most of the cult mbers were gathered.

Swroooosh! Swreeeessh!

The flaming blade tore through the air and people alike before igniting them in a blazing inferno.

Viana held a weapon she had requested from Vesh.

A hamr with a massive head, designed so she wouldn’t miss her target.

Inside her Pri Construct field, the 10-ton hamr weighed like a feather, as conventional physical restrictions didn’t apply to her within the field.

But once she swung it, the first person hit had a better fate, as he was crushed into the hamrhead, but the others behind him faced a devastating shockwave from the speed and weight of the swing. They were hurled straight into stone walls in no less than sonic speed.

Poor fellows were only Seed-rank mbers.

But every single person here had beco a mber after making sacrifices of innocents, and they were responsible for gathering sacrifices in that stockhouse.

"Die, you pieces of #$&%!"

Kayan was naturally the most brutal and had the highest kill count.

The four of them caused absolute mayhem in this small secret cult branch.

Within five minutes, all 159 mbers were dead.

Not a single one escaped.

Vesh rescued all the people. Most of them were humans, but so belonged to the Sersia race, who had the lower body of snakes and the upper body of humans.

He needed more people on his island anyway, and he would like nothing more than for these unfortunate souls to reside there and start a new, better life.

The rescued people felt surreal as they settled in a heaven-like place high up in the sky. Viana, Arga, and Rovina guided and settled them while Vesh expanded the town, creating more hos and infrastructure.

Below, the Skylord Behemoth K flickered into existence from its invisible state, hovering above the cult branch.

Then, Tommy’s Twin Mini Blasters activated as their ears transford into exotic barrelled guns with neon crimson and blue patterns, looking straight out of sci-fi.

The blasters flickered with light and brightened briefly before unleashing a volley of cannon orbs in a carpet-style barrage, covering the 300-ter radius of this secret branch.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Each orb exploded within a 20-ter radius with intense, contained destruction, and the Mini Blasters released a combined volley of 60 orbs.

[Congratulations. You have successfully completed the special quest—Survival at Stake.]

Vesh grinned as he saw the rewards appear in his inventory.

A-rank Treasure Chest.

1 x Random Blueprint (C to S)

1 x Summon Ticket!

But Vesh wanted to finish the main task at hand first, since he had already destroyed the cult’s branch here.

The completion of the quest also proved one thing.

This cult only had one branch here so far. If it had more branches in this region, the quest likely wouldn’t have been completed.

’This is not the mainland, so it must be a small region. But how small is this region, and how big is the mainland?’

Vesh decided to ask this question to the voice.

[The mainland is cone-shaped geographically, but cracked at multiple places, parting into different regions. Each region is vaster than the Earth you once lived upon.]

[Sidelands like where you live are five in number, and they are located at the southwest edge of this Klimonta Realm, beyond the cone-shaped mainland. For your information, Klimonta is not a permanent na of the realm, as the realm’s na changes based on the champion Kingdom when they ascend to the next realm.]

’What? So there are more realms?’ Vesh was shocked. ’And what do you an by Champion Kingdom?’

[Champion Kingdom refers to the most impressive and strongest Kingdom in this realm, having achieved the highest score in the Grand Warfare League before ascending. The na has remained the sa for the past three centuries, though four powerful Kingdoms are approaching that score in this era. If the record is broken by one of them, the na shall change again.]

Vesh’s eyes sparkled. ’That’s aweso.’
