[Yes] [No]

Just as the final whistle faded from the air, a soft chi echoed inside Julian’s mind.

He didn’t flinch.

System notification.

He accepted the reward without hesitation—he could allocate the points later.

Right now, his body still humd from the match.

Sweat clung to his shirt.

His breath was steady but heavy.

His heart—calm, but alive.

Around him, the other players were winding down.

So sitting. So joking. Others already leaving.

Eventually, only two remained on the field:

Julian—

Still juggling the ball, softly, rhythmically.

And Leonardo Luz—

Hands on hips, watching him with a curious smirk.

"You’re good," Leo said, walking up slowly.

"Is this really your first ti?"

Julian caught the ball and stopped juggling.

"Yeah."

"How old are you?"

"Seventeen. You?"

"Sa." Leo tilted his head.

"Weird. I’ve never seen you before. Where do you go to school?"

Julian hesitated for half a breath.

Then—

"I... had a condition. A physical one. Couldn’t do much before. But I recovered recently."

He looked out at the field.

"This was my first ti playing. Ever. Football’s always been my dream."

Leo’s expression shifted—brows lifting slightly, then dropping into sothing softer.

His lips tightened with guilt.

"Ah, crap. Sorry, man. Didn’t an to—"

Julian waved it off and chuckled lightly.

"Don’t worry. Just a bump in the road."

He bounced the ball once off his thigh.

"I’m here now, right?"

That made Leo smile again.

Then he paused.

"If it’s really your dream... why not chase it for real?"

Julian raised an eyebrow.

"Co to our school," Leo said.

"Lincoln High. We’ve got a solid program. Good facilities. And we’re aiming for CIF playoffs this year."

Julian blinked.

That na again.

Just as he opened his mouth—

[System Quest Alert]

Rise to the Team

Qualify for CIF Southern Section Playoffs

Reward : Rare Skill

[ Accept Quest? ]

[Yes] [No]

CIF... Southern Section?

He wasn’t fully sure what it ant yet—

But he understood one thing.

He needed a team.

And Leo was giving him one.

Julian’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"Lincoln High, huh?" he said.

"Alright. I’ll give it a shot."

Leo grinned and extended a fist.

"I’ll be waiting."

Julian bumped it.

Brief. Solid.

A quiet promise between warriors.

Then he turned and walked.

...

The field dimd behind him, the stadium lights casting long shadows on the concrete path.

Julian made his way back to the car.

Crest was still there.

She hadn’t moved.

Still parked in the sa spot, hands folded, eyes watching the field like a sentinel.

The door opened.

"So..." Crest said, raising an eyebrow with a playful smile.

"Is our future football star returning victorious?"

Julian let out a small breath of laughter as he slid into the seat.

"We won," he replied simply. Then, without missing a beat:

"I need you to help find so information on a school—Lincoln High."

Crest blinked.

"What? Wait... don’t tell you’re thinking about enrolling? In a school?"

Julian didn’t answer.

He didn’t have to.

Crest stared at him like she’d just seen a ghost.

"You’ve never even stepped into a classroom before, Julian..." she murmured.

"Yeah," he said softly.

"And football is my dream. I’m chasing it now."

Her mouth opened, then closed.

For a mont, the car was quiet—just the low hum of the engine and the wind brushing against the windshield.

Then she sighed.

"Alright. I can start looking into the admissions process... but you know I’ll need to inform your parents."

Julian’s eyes turned cold.

His voice dropped.

"Tell them whatever you want. But if they try to stop —"

He didn’t finish the sentence.

He didn’t need to.

Crest glanced at him sideways, reading the unspoken threat in his silence.

And then—she smiled.

"Got it."

They drove in silence for a while.

The world outside blurred past—the glow of streetlamps, the hush of night traffic.

Inside the car, Julian opened his system window.

Ti to allocate his reward.

Julian closed the screen and stared out the window.

The night was quiet, the streetlights flashing in soft rhythm as Crest drove them ho.

But his mind wasn’t resting.

He pulled out his smartphone, opened the browser, and typed:

"CIF Southern Section Playoffs – Football"

He scrolled in silence.

Five minutes.

That’s all it took.

And then—he understood.

The CIF Southern Section—California Interscholastic Federation—

was the official governing body for high school sports in Southern California.

It wasn’t just football.

It ran everything.

Basketball. Baseball. Track. Volleyball. Wrestling.

And for football?

It began with league play.

Schools competed in seasonal leagues across districts.

Top schools would qualify—

and from there, enter the CIF Southern Section Playoffs.

The real proving ground.

The road to championships.

To recognition.

To scouts.

To scholarships.

To the future.

And if Julian entered Lincoln High now—

the league season was just about to begin.

Right on ti.

It felt... planned.

Fated.

Like the world had aligned this path just for him.

Julian’s lips curled into a quiet grin.

"Perfect."
