Chapter 346: Chapter 341: Threat

“Thank you for your patronage, 100,000 elental crystals.” The green-skinned goblin imdiately broke into a grin upon hearing Muria’s intention to buy directly, his ugly face wrinkling with joy.

Not every destiny-blessed individual is as generous and wealthy as the Dragon Race before him. In fact, most of those favored by destiny are so poor that they might as well eat dirt.

Indeed, being favored by destiny often entails surviving hardships far beyond those of ordinary people. Through these trials, they beco radiant, awe-inspiring beings. Before achieving their extraordinary feats, however, they are often plagued by misfortunes of all kinds.

One’s bad luck often implicates their whole family, aning that those who follow these destiny-blessed individuals must possess formidable survival skills, lest they perish one day. Of course, if they could survive, they would be able to enjoy nurous benefits, but that’s a different story.

“Why is it so expensive?” Hearing the goblin’s price, Muria frowned. Consider this: the Ancient Red Dragon Bronia had overwhelmingly defeated the three great kingdoms and only received war indemnities amounting to 210,000 elental crystals.

It took the three kingdoms’ combined bleeding to co up with the 210,000 elental crystals in war reparations, yet the artifact Muria wanted to buy to monitor the safety of his Five Colored Dragons was priced at 100,000 crystals, twice the cost of a heap of legendary tals he had just bought.

“Honorable guest, do you know how many legends have been cursed to death by the Curse Book carried by the legendary mage?”

Muria glanced at the goblin and remained silent, just quietly watching the goblin boast about the Curse Book.

“According to our intelligence, as many as eleven legends have fallen because of the Curse Book.”

“Oh!” Muria’s face did not show a hint of surprise, his composure sowhat irked the green-skinned goblin.

“Since the Book of Mourning is so powerful, how did you get it?”

“Its previous owner perished, so naturally, it fell into my hands.”

“How did its original owner perish?”

“Haha, that…” The goblin awkwardly laughed, seeming reluctant to reveal the details.

“If you don’t tell

how the previous owner died, I will not buy this book.”

“That information cos at a cost too, esteed custor.”

“Oh, then I’ll pass on the book.”

“Respectable custor, you’ve already left your subordinate’s imprint on this book.” The green-skinned goblin smirked ominously at Muria’s attempt to discard the book, “If you don’t buy it and another custor does, all control over your subordinate’s life or death would be left in the hands of the book’s new owner.”

Muria remained silent, the Seven Sins Blade, now shrunk to suit his current size, appeared in his hand. He fixated his gaze on the green-skinned goblin.

“Honored custor, this is a fair trade. You can’t harm , a poor goblin.” Seeing the blade in Muria’s hand, the green-skinned goblin instinctively took a step back- an almost instinctual reaction. It seed like the goblin had been attacked nurous tis as a result of his tricks.

“Tell

how the owner of the Book of Mourning died.” Muria held the blade, suppressing his urge to strike the goblin. His spiritual sense told him that with his current strength, he couldn’t hit the goblin.

“Honorable custor, could you please put away your weapon.” The goblin rchant eyed the blade in Muria’s hand with trepidation. Recognizing the weapon, the goblin chose to relent. “The owner of the Curse Book was killed when the book backfired.”

“Backfired?” A smile crept onto Muria’s face. “What exactly happened?”

“Every ti this ominous book curses a creature to death, its power increases based on the strength of its victim. Eventually, the book beca so powerful that not even its creator could control it. Finally, the legendary mage who created the book was hit by hundreds of curses, and it is said that not even the shreds of his soul survived.”

“And you’re selling

this evil book?” Muria looked emotionlessly at the green-skinned goblin while the Seven Sins Blade in his hand began to radiate a chilling gleam.

Even though the goblin knew that Muria couldn’t harm it, its body couldn’t help but tremble. With a parched laugh it explained, “Most living beings, no, most legends don’t have the ability to use this book. But, you are a destiny-blessed individual. You’re definitely capable of using the book, if not now, certainly later.”

“Ten thousand crystals, I’ll buy it.”

“Honorable custor, this is an artifact that can curse legends to death. How could it be worth only 10,000 elental crystals?” Hearing Muria’s offer, the green-skinned goblin shrieked in horror. “At least 95,000 crystals.”

“It has the potential to turn against its master, and moreover, using it requires so very troubleso prerequisites. So, the most I can offer is 20,000 crystals.”

“But it can’t possibly harm you…”

After much bargaining, Muria finally bought the Book of Mourning for 80,000 elental crystals. The green-skinned goblin firmly stuck to this price as if its life depended on it.

For so reason, the goblin was confident that nothing would happen to Muria as long as he held the book. And indeed, only a curse that could kill a weak deity could take down Muria. Any other curse would be ineffective against him. This book, in Muria’s hands, couldn’t cause any mischief.

“Respected custor, do you need anything else?” The greenskin goblin, who’d received his paynt, was obsequiously looking at Muria.

“Legendary tals, do you have any more?” Muria’s eyes turned to the rag bag behind the green-skinned goblin. “I’ll take as many as you have, the more, the better.”

Muria’s Exclusive Weapons were of the growing type, which could devour legendary tals to continuously level up, possessing unlimited potential.

“All the legendary tals I have can be bought by you. If you need more, you’ll have to wait for a while. I need ti to stock up.” Hearing Muria’s demand made the goblin’s eyes sparkle. But they dimd quickly.

With a noticeable expression of regret, the goblin bowed slightly to Muria. “I look forward to eting you again, generous custor.”

“Tell , what’s your real na?” Muria asked the goblin, who was gradually fading before his eyes.

“Custor, you need to pay…”

“You’ve already earned 130,000 elental crystals from . If you ask

for more money, I’ll cut you.” Muria was expressionless. “Even if I can’t harm you now, rember that I’ll eventually beco strong enough to do so.”

“Great Golden Dragon, I’m just a lowly goblin rchant. I’m not worth your attention.” Hearing Muria’s threat, the goblin’s face suddenly changed.

“What is your real na?”

“Stalon.”
