Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Titan’s Inheritance
“Enlargent Spell? This is just a spell for laughs.” Muria glanced at the magic book in his hands and tossed it away, only to have it caught and placed back on the shelf by a trembling, honest invisible servant.
The Enlargent Spell, a one-Ring magic, simply increases the size and strength of a humanoid creature. But such a spell, without thinking it’s clear, would absolutely be immune on Muria’s true form, and what’s the point of using it on Muria’s humanoid body? He might as well change back to his true form.
“So many low-level spells are simply not worth learning, they’re just a waste of ti. I have no idea what the mages who created them were thinking.” Muria looked at the floating books in front of him, carefully reading their effects.
“What is this, ‘Tongue of Tentacles’, turning your tongue into tentacles?” Muria saw this and was disgusted: “I guarantee you, the mage who created this spell was definitely a pervert.”
“Minor Healing. For minor injuries, my own recovery ti is less than the casting ti, no need to learn it.”
“Accelerated Swimming. Ha. I’m a man who can catch fish in the sea.”
“Reduction Spell. Bah, I’m small enough as it is.”
“Seasickness Resistance, First, I need to have a boat.”
“No more, no more. One-Ring magic, the really useful ones are too few, most are just auxiliary, the direct attack ones are too weak too, they’re useless against baby dragons. Only the spells enhanced by my bloodline are worth looking at.”
“Second-Circle Spells aren’t bad, but why are there still Tentacles series spells, “Sharp-toothed Tentacles,” extending a tentacle from the hand that splits into three smaller tentacles, each with a toothed mouth on it?” Muria looked and gagged, “Such an uniquely styled spell, which normal mage would learn this!”
Muria picked and chose, discarding the spells he didn’t like or found oddly styled, only picking those he found visually appealing to learn…
“Ugh!” Muria stretched a big lazy yawn, “My ntal power is almost depleted, and I’ve only constructed five Second-Circle Spells. ntal power is really too scarce, not enough at all.”
Muria, entirely unconscious of the envy-inducing words he spoke, unlike ordinary mages who ponder deeply before beginning to construct magic models, directly used massive amounts of ntal power as a price to increase proficiency.
Ordinary human mages are very cautious, morizing the magic models completely before contemplating them for ten days to half a month, striving to succeed in one go, or at least within three tries.
But Muria, even the most basic zero-level tricks could result in failures more than ten tis, not to ntion Second-Circle Spells which are two difficulty levels higher. It proved that he just got lucky when he constructed the Four Ring Spell Shape-shifting Spell after only a few failures.
Compared to the ntal power used to successfully construct a magic model, the ntal power wasted in failed constructions accounted for more than 95% of all Muria’s ntal power. This was the price Muria paid for constructing magic models frequently in a short period, a ntal power that could be replenished by a good sleep.
“This world, it really isn’t fair,” Muria sighed. He was no longer a novice to Elasia, ignorant of everything. In the Golden Dragon Mother’s library, he could learn everything he wanted to know.
“Fortunately, I’m not one who lants the world’s injustices.” Muria reflected for a mont, then shifted his focus, now all his energy was concentrated on how to improve his combat strength.
As for the growth in strength, Muria felt there was really no need for him to blindly worry. Sleeping every day could make him stronger, so why think too much? The only thing he needed to consider was how to effectively utilize his available strength and transform it into real combat power.
“Making full use of my ntal power to enhance my spell-casting ability, I’m already doing it, and I can’t continue to construct magic models now.” Muria thought carefully, “Whether it’s a Golden Dragon or a Titan, spell-casting ability is just an embellishnt to their reputation. What really makes them famous in the world is their close combat capability.”
“So, I should focus mainly on enhancing my close combat skills.” Muria nodded to himself, “Fist-to-flesh fighting style, it’s quite thrilling to think about, though it’s easy to get injured.”
“As for close combat, the relevant knowledge is already in the Titan’s heritage mory.” Muria flipped through the heritage knowledge of the Titan Race in his mory, his lips twitching. He had long received the heritage knowledge but had never really paid close attention to it, or subconsciously hadn’t carefully looked at it. Now that he did, Muria was breathless.
“Should I say it truly lives up to its reputation as a legendary combat race? Besides the initial heritage languages like Titan Language, Giant Language, and Common Language, all other knowledge is combat-related.
The second ti I received the Titan knowledge inheritance was purely combat knowledge, let’s see what’s there, ‘Weapon Selection and Utilization’, ‘Double-edged Battle Axe Technique,’ ‘How to Accurately Throw a Spear’, ‘Basic Hamr Skills’…”
Looking at this long list of various weapon techniques, Muria’s head started to spin. His paternal side seed really perverted, now in his mind, Titan’s heritage knowledge consisted only of combat besides the basic linguistic knowledge.
“With this physique…” Muria thought about his still-baby-flesh-like body, a bit speechless, seemingly not very suitable for combat, “And to use these combat skills, I’d at least need a suitable weapon.”
“So, can I only choose to use my fists for close combat?” Muria, in a flash of light, returned to his true form, raising his truly pot-sized aty fists.
“The most suitable for my current situation is still the ‘Combat Techniques’ which makes up the majority of the Titan heritage.”
Muria scratched his head and looked at the white robe he was wearing, muttering softly, “This robe can enlarge or shrink with my body, so wearing it to battle shouldn’t be a problem!”
“No matter, I’ll rest for a while, then go find so ferocious wild beasts to test out the Titan combat techniques.” Muria didn’t return to his own room, he walked out of the library, picked a room that looked nice at random, pushed the door open, transford into a humanoid, and directly flopped onto the bed and buried his head to sleep.
Now, Muria had started treating his room like the Evil Dragon Breeding Room. Sleeping there, he couldn’t relax and close his eyes because those Evil Dragon Cubs could attack him at any mont.
“Mmm, it slls nice,” Muria sniffed the faint fragrance of the blanket, gradually becoming drowsy, “I wonder if it’s the body scent of a Dragon Maid, or perhaps it’s the lingering scent of perfu used.”
…
“Mia, stop pinching, don’t pinch anymore.”
“It’s so tender, it’s okay, I’ll pinch a little longer, who let Mr. Muria take my bed and stop
from sleeping.”
“If Mr. Muria wakes up, you’re dead.”
“What’s there to be afraid of? We serve the Benevolent Dragon, the Golden Dragon, not Evil Dragons. The worst we can get is a minor punishnt.”
“Even if it’s a Benevolent Dragon, it’s still a dragon, Mia…”
When Muria groggily woke up, he heard two very young female voices arguing in Dragon Language. Of course, what he felt most intensely was the delicate palm constantly kneading his face.
Then, feeling uncomfortable, Muria fully opened his golden eyes and stared blankly at the two Dragon Maids in front of him, whose cheeks bore fine golden dragon scales.
One of the beautiful young-looking Dragon Maids was squatting in front of him, leaning close by and stretching out a hand to massage his cheek, while behind her, the other Dragon Maid was anxiously pulling at her trying to stop her actions.
“Have you pinched enough?” Muria asked expressionlessly, his ntal state still not fully awake.
“Hehe.” The Dragon Maid Mia, who was imrsed in the wonderful sensation transmitted from her fingertips and arguing with her companion, only then realized and sheepishly withdrew her hand.
“Mr. Muria, Mia didn’t an to offend you, please forgive her impulsiveness,” the Dragon Maid who was pulling Mia knelt down in a panic upon hearing Muria’s voice, pleading for her companion.
“Mr. Muria, you took my bed first, I had nowhere to sleep, so I kept watching you, and then I found you too cute, I couldn’t help but pinch your cheek, you can’t bla
for that.”
“Your bed isn’t small, it’s big enough for two people.” Muria still looked indifferent, perhaps because he was too drained, he felt very sleepy.
After saying that, he closed his eyes again, turned over, and with his back to the two Dragon Maids, fell soundly asleep again.
Hearing this, the kneeling Dragon Maid and Mia exchanged shocked looks, then the very bold Dragon Maid Mia cheered, “Michelle, sleep, sleep.”
The kneeling Dragon Maid, still with a perplexed face, couldn’t understand what had happened; in her worldview, hierarchical order was strict, and crossing boundaries would surely lead to punishnt.
“Mia, what are you doing?” Dragon Maid Michelle, shocked, watched Mia quickly strip her clothes and climb into bed, albeit, she had seen such a scene many tis before, but this ti it was different.
“Sleeping,” Mia answered as if it were obvious.
“But, but Mr. Muria is still…”
“Mr. Muria has already agreed,” Mia said with a smile.
…Golden sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains into a bedroom inhabited by maids in the Crystal Castle.
“Ah~ha~” Muria yawned, opened his eyes, the room was still dark, then, slling that slightly familiar fragrance and feeling the soft touch on his face, along with the slightly tight constraint on his body, Muria realized he was being tightly embraced by a rather well-shaped woman.
