Chapter 1272: Chapter 1258: You Are the Greatest Benefit

Hiss! Howl! Roar…

When the first monster was annihilated, its kin roaming the city and spreading fear were imdiately stimulated. They turned their gazes toward Modo’s location, releasing excited, brutal hisses. For a mont, the only echoes in the human-built city were those of the monsters’ voices.

“Co on, monsters! All of you, co to .”

The man wearing weapons crafted from ancient dragon scales let out a louder cry in response to the city monsters’ roars. He had gained the Dragon Power, but it also eroded him, infusing him with the pride characteristic of dragons and the Red Dragon’s volatility.

Roar!!!

All the monsters in the city charged toward Modo’s location because he was now the only resister in the entire city. The rest of the residents had lost the will to resist and could only pray helplessly, then provide the monsters with the power of their fear.

“Let

exterminate all of you!”

The man laughed wildly, with crimson arm guards revealing a frenzy he had never shown before. He boldly stepped toward the broad street, under the trembling gaze of a mother and child hiding in a house.

Whoosh!

A sharp gust of wind struck at the back of his head. Modo turned and extended his left hand, grabbing the head of a monster that had reached out with sharp-blade-like fingers toward him.

“How ugly. To have transford from human into such a pitiful form, let

give you release.”

Bang!

Grey-white bones stained with foul blood and thick fluids splattered in all directions. The man, enhanced by the Dragon Power, brutally crushed the monster’s head, but it did not die. It still writhed, headless, instinctively wanting to attack the man. But in the next instant, flas enveloped the monster’s body, completely purifying it and reducing it to ash.

This, however, was not the end but rely the beginning of the battle. Accompanied by the monsters’ intermittent screeches, grotesque creatures of varying heights and builds leaped from rooftops, each as twisted as the next, then lunged at Modo together.

The man’s figure was obscured by monsters for a mont, and the next, it seed he would be engulfed and devoured by them. But then exploding flas burst through the gaps between the monsters, shining radiant and dazzling in the darkness.

Boom!

A ring of scorching flas spread out. The powerful explosive fire sent all the monsters flying. The burning flas, sticking to their bodies, made them scream in agony.

“Is this all the ability you have?”

Seeing the results of his actions, Modo laughed heartily, having completely forgotten his past experiences of being brutally abused by the monsters.

“Humans!”

A brutal roar rose. Modo followed the sound, seeing ten monsters twisted and pressed together as if they were lting candles. They rged into one disgusting ten-headed creature dragging twenty legs, charging at Modo.

“That’s truly revolting!”

Seeing this monstrously ugly creature that surpassed the limits of human imagination, Modo, wearing the crimson arm guard, clenched his right fist and then struck fiercely. A pillar of raging fire burst forth, tearing apart everything in its path…

When the sun rose from the horizon, casting warm rays upon the land, the man standing atop a pile of nauseatingly stinking corpses and overlooking the entire city had a smile on his face. After battling through the night, no monster dared to attack him anymore.

It wasn’t clear whether it was because all the monsters had been killed or if the remaining monsters feared the sunlight and dared not erge. However, Modo was more inclined to believe the forr, that the monsters, which had ford from corruption and degeneration of humans, were all annihilated for now, but it was only temporary.

“Lord Modo, have you defeated all the monsters?” Dodging the remaining flas on the ground, a tremulous figure approached the man, who appeared unscathed atop the pile of corpses, and inquired.

“No, I’ve only obliterated an insignificant portion of them.” Having recovered his senses after the battle, Modo regained his rationality. “This war is just beginning, far from over.”

Although he had cleared the city of monsters, Modo was well aware that as long as the Evil God existed and as long as humans harbored fear, monsters would continuously spawn from the human heart. He could only suppress them temporarily. To eradicate monsters from the root, that was beyond his capabilities.

The man who was well aware of his limitations stayed in the port city. The power of the Evil God had already spread across the land. It would corrupt every place that harbored intelligent life, and all he could do was to establish a sanctuary on this tainted earth, not knowing how long it would last.

And when the man decided to protect the entire city and beco its guardian, his na, along with the Red Dragon Emperor’s arm guard, began to spread throughout the city.

“Hey, Ti, I suddenly feel a lot lighter. The world’s pressure on

seems to have lessened sowhat.”

Auston, who followed Muria around this backward and barren land, looked at the man. He had taken dragon scales from his body to create armor pieces, gifting them to those fated to receive them, and suddenly noticed a subtle change within himself.

“Hmm, it seems my idea was not wrong.” Muria noticed the change in Auston, and a smile appeared on his face.

“Lord Ti, do I see faith upon ? Is this your stratagem?” Auston, as a legendary being, clearly recognized what was entwining him—it was the faith leading to the path of Divine Beings, and so he understood what caused the world’s oppressive force on him to weaken.

“Hmm, it was a sudden inspiration, but it seems I was correct.”

A powerful existence from an Otherworld is rejected by the world, but when that existence shows willingness to submit, even a world without cognitive ability would not refuse.

“Gaining the faith of the native world indeed can lessen the world’s suppression.”

“Lord Ti, I have no intention of becoming a deity here,” said Auston hastily upon seeing Muria’s expression. Truth be told, he wasn’t opposed to becoming a Dragon God, he even aspired to it, but the location mattered.

This place was indeed a vast world, but it could never compare to Elasia. If one were to ascend to divinity, it should be to raise a Divine Throne in Elasia.

“I didn’t ask you to beco a deity here.”

“But I am already entwined with faith,” Auston said with a bitter expression. Faith is the ladder to eternal life, but it is also the shackle that imprisons Divine Beings.

“As long as you don’t wish to beco a deity, can these things force you?” Muria was unconcerned, knowing that faith was a tricky matter, but as long as one didn’t touch it, there generally wouldn’t be a problem.

In the following ti, finding that faith was effective, Muria began using the ancient dragon scales of his own legendary ancient dragons as materials, even various sets, then disassembling them to distribute to those destined ones.

Thus, the legends of dragons and faith spread across this land. People fearing the Evil God, seeking peace of mind, began to devoutly worship the various Red Dragon Emperors, White Dragon Kings, and their faith was incredibly sincere.

Such actions, without a doubt, enraged the Evil God, who was rapidly regaining strength by collecting negative emotions from humans. Hence, fallen monsters converged and started seeking out Muria.

“I hear you monsters are looking for ?”

Lying on the ground, strength depleted, a girl clad in an erald green cloak was watching a black-haired, golden-pupiled boy slowly materialize from void to solid, standing in front of her, smiling at the monsters.

“It’s you!”

Recognizing Muria with the help of the Jade Queen’s cloak, which gave her the power to confront the Evil God’s minions, the girl could not mistake the one who had granted her the Divine Artifact.

Her eyes instantly shone with hope at the sight of Muria in this dire situation surrounded by monsters; with him here, she could definitely survive.

“Have you co to save ?”

“Well, sort of, since it seems these monsters are attacking you because they want to find ,” Muria touched his chin; he had noticed that with more set parts he threw out onto the land, the Evil God’s hostility toward him grew, and it seed a kill order on him had been issued.

To gather information about him, the Evil God’s followers had started to attack—organized and on a large scale—those lucky enough to receive parts of the sets he had given away.

The girl in front of him was one such unlucky person, but fortunately, he had arrived at the crucial mont.

“Foolish outsider, sensing my presence, you dare to probe

with such trash.”

As Muria appeared, the surrounding monsters began to slowly rge, and a humanoid demon beast, over three ters tall and exuding an intimidating presence, appeared.

Though not particularly tall, the re aura it emitted caused the girl, blessed by Muria’s gifts, to breathe frantically.

“What is your purpose? If you seek sothing to elevate your power further, then I regret to tell you, there’s nothing here.”

“No, there is.” Muria’s eyes glead upon seeing the avatar of the Evil God before him, “You are the biggest prize here.”

“Hmm? Your target is ?” The Evil God noticed Muria’s frank gaze, then its anthropomorphic features twisted into a ferocious smile, “A re ant dares to sche against .”

“What’s there to fear, from an Evil God lingering on the verge of downfall,” Muria said casually, his attitude extrely dismissive, infuriating the god who hadn’t considered Muria a threat.

“Ignorant outsider, today I will show you the wrath of a deity. Even in my less-than-perfect state, I am not sothing an ant like you can withstand.”

The not-so-tall demon beast extended a palm towards Muria, and the space around them rapidly solidified with its motion. Grey miasma began to spread, summoning the Evil God’s Domain of Fear.

But in the next instant, radiant golden light split the mist and shattered the domain, slashing toward the astonished and enraged avatar of the Evil God…
