Chapter 1204: Chapter 1191: Leaving
“Owen is an Ancient Dragon Species?”
The youth with loosely-hanging, lion-like golden hair looked sowhat astonished at the white-haired old man sitting across from him.
“To be precise, it’s soone disguising themselves as the current Owen, not the human Owen from before.”
“I see, so what do you want
to do? You’ve already put that guy in charge of hunting dragons. My job now is solely to hunt down creatures from Other worlds.”
The student council president leaned back lazily on the couch, and even though he was sitting in front of the most powerful person in the entire Academy, he had no intention of changing his posture.
“But he’s not here! Right now, in the Academy, you are the only one who can deal with this matter properly.”
“So, principal, are you asking
to be his substitute?”
“Caesar, as the president of the student council, is this where your focus should be? Can’t you see how serious the situation is? An Ancient Dragon Species has infiltrated our Academy, and they are brazenly exposing their whereabouts.”
“I know, it’s the dragon that swallowed your collection, and it even dared to leave traces behind, implicitly challenging Cassel Academy and making you feel offended, right? So you want to teach this dragon a lesson it won’t forget.”
“Watch your tone when you speak, you are also a mber of Cassel Academy.” George rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on, “You’re included in the range of the provocation.”
“Alright, what’s your solution then?”
“This dragon is a tricky one. It has the ability to turn its body into an intangible wind, so to kill it, we must engage it head-on before it can react. It’s impossible for us to harm it otherwise.”
“With such freakish abilities, what use is there in finding ?” Caesar’s face showed surprise.
“These are bullets crafted by hand from the Philosopher’s Stone. You’ve used them once before.” Ignoring Caesar’s subtle hint of refusal, George pulled out a black, gold-inlaid box from his clothes, slid it across to Caesar, and then opened it to reveal a bullet that seed to be carved from a ruby nestled in the soft velvet.
“As long as you can shoot this bullet into the dragon’s skull while it’s not paying attention, there’s a good chance you can directly obliterate its soul.”
“Don’t co to
for missions where a single mistake ans death. I have a grand fortune to enjoy and a life to live. I’m too young for this. Doesn’t your conscience hurt for always making
do such things?”
Caesar glanced at the bullet on the table, which would drive countless Dragon Slayers insane, and didn’t move an inch, knowing the risk involved with using it.
For those old n to offer such a prized possession, it was clear that the dragon they were facing this ti was trendously fearso. The item could even be used against the Dragon King.
“If a young fellow like you won’t go, should an old man like
take on the task? Doesn’t your conscience hurt?” George said with a laugh disguised as a scold.
“No, it doesn’t. An old guy like you, who doesn’t have many good days left, is perfect for burning brightly one last ti, reducing the risk for us young folks. It seems like a great idea.”
“Is that sothing a person should say?”
“Genetically speaking, I’m not purely human; I reckon I could be considered dragonkin.”
“If you’re embracing the identity of dragonkin, then maybe I should consider putting this bullet through your head.”
“Just kidding. I’m human, of course, just not of a pure bloodline.”
“So, will you take on this mission? Surely you don’t expect an old, weak man like
to step in?”
“Accepted. You wouldn’t find a more suitable Dragon Slayer than
in the whole world,” the lion-like youth laughed unrestrainedly and arrogantly.
“The entire faculty and student body will support you in this operation.” Seeing that he’d persuaded the young man at last, the elderly principal revealed a satisfied smile.
After the principal had left, the blonde youth in the sofa narrowed his eyes, shedding his previous languid air for a sharp and penetrating gaze,
“Lu Tianming, the Academy’s top genius, recognized by the principal, and now by a dragon too. It seems I’ve been shortsighted. But what is so special about that guy? Does playing video gas count?”
…
“So you’ve noticed, although your reaction is a bit slow. Not bad, though.”
Walking through Cassel Academy in the guise of the young Owen, Muria was aware of the dozens of covert glances observing him, amounting to all-round surveillance.
With his own ntal power, he swept through the entire campus and found no one else receiving a similar treatnt, leading him to conclude his identity must have been exposed.
However, the human side did not seem to have any intention of actively exposing him, maintaining a facade of calm for the ti being, at least when he was walking on the small forest paths of the Academy, the students passing by did not show any sign of difference from the usual.
Of course, it is a commonly understood fact that this current calm is only temporary, for an academy founded with the ultimate goal of dragon slaying could never tolerate a dragon disguising as a human and brazenly living among them.
“Hmm?” When Muria was sitting in the Library, quietly reading as usual, he saw a black-haired youth with an anxious look sit down opposite him.
“Senior Owen, I…” The youth hesitated as he began to speak, wanting to say sothing, but before he could finish, he was interrupted by a sound like thunder,
Bang!
A silvery-white light streaked across the sky, shattered the Library’s glass, pierced through rows of bookshelves, and the imnse kinetic energy set off ripples that left books shattered – yet, all of this was rely the aftermath. The bullet ultimately buried itself in Muria’s forehead.
Clang!
Like a morning bell or evening drum, the alchemy bullet designed to target dragons struck the forehead of the smiling blond youth, then twisted, becoming a misshapen lump of tal, which, still hot, fell to the ground with a crisp sound.
“This…” The youth sitting opposite Muria witnessed such a horrific scene; his complexion instantaneously turned pale. Being able to withstand a sniper alchemy bullet ant for dragonkin with just a head was impossible for any human.
In that mont, Lu Tianming, with a face full of panic, also made up his mind. He reached into his chest and drew out a pistol. Under Muria’s surprised look, he aid at him and pulled the trigger.
Bang!
A crimson bullet left a faint red trail in the air, hitting the exact spot where the silvery-white alchemy bullet had struck and then directly burying itself into the head of the genteel blond youth.
“You…” The youth’s smile stiffened on his face, the gentle smile turned into resignation, “Truly an unfilial scion.”
After finishing his words, the black dragon wearing Owen’s face fell backward, crashing to the ground. As he fell, the students who had been quietly reading in the Library suddenly revealed their murderous intent, pulling out various portable firearms and swords and gathered towards where Muria lay.
So of the students ard with guns had already pulled their triggers while approaching, firing wildly for good asure, to ensure Muria was thoroughly dead.
Lu Tianming, who had claid the first kill, watched the scene in stunned disbelief. The once peaceful Library had, in an instant, turned into a battlefield heavy with the aura of slaughter. The transition was so abrupt it was almost incomprehensible.
“What the hell is this? How can a dead body be so exaggerated?” After emptying their firearms, the students couldn’t suppress their astonishnt and burst out shouting.
For their bullets had all failed to penetrate the disquised dragonkin, which took on the shape of a human; none had entered, each one twisting into a lump of tal from its own kinetic energy and falling to the floor. It wasn’t just him; all of the students who fired at the dragon experienced the sa.
“Stand back, everyone, do not get close.” A warning voice ca from outside the Library, followed by heavy footsteps as one after another, soldier clad in bulky exoskeleton armor broke through the windows and into the Library.
“Hm!” A lazy moan rose and then, to the astonishnt of everyone present, the blond youth, who should have been dead, yawned, stretched lazily, and sat up from the ground. He then looked around,
“No need to panic, although you treat
in such an excessive manner, I am not a dragon who revels in cruelty.”
“What exactly are you? The Philosopher’s Stone clearly entered your brain just now, how can you still stand up? Even the Dragon King can’t withstand such damage.”
An incredulous voice that seed unable to comprehend the current situation rang out. Under Muria’s gaze, an old man with white hair but still an erect posture appeared.
“Good day, Headmaster Your Excellency,” Muria greeted the old man who was frequently ntioned in the Academy’s internet, smiling,
“That bullet just now must have been your trump card. To show yourself before
when it has no effect, I must comnd your bravery.”
“I am the oldest living Dragon Slayer among humans. If I lack even the courage to stand before you, that would be all too sad.”
The headmaster looked at the youth whose forehead still bore a bullet hole, his emotions still unable to settle, “Ancient Dragon Your Excellency, could you answer my question?”
“You an this toy that entered my head?”
The cracked crimson bullet fell from the hole in the youth’s forehead, and he caught it with his hand, raising it above his head and examining it,
“Its power is indeed noteworthy, but to say that the damage it causes is sothing the Dragon King can’t bear, that’s really ludicrous. The true Dragon King is not as fragile as you imagine.”
“Then, are you the Dragon King?”
“Of course,” the blond youth nodded but further explained, “Not the kind you’re thinking of.”
