The attempt, made out of re boredom, had brought him an opportunity beyond his imagination. In comparison to what he gained, the materials consud to set up the Array were insignificant and not even worth ntioning.
Eso had already tested it; his very essence had been completely altered—he had beco a special creature superior to humans, with more vibrant vitality, greater strength, and a longer lifespan.
The modest cost in exchange for a fortune that could change his destiny was so outrageous that Eso lost his usual composure and attempted a second communication with the Void God.
Then, nothing happened, and on the Array that had reduced to ashes, Eso’s expression changed several tis before settling into gloom. Driven by a strong sense of unwillingness and a stroke of luck, he set up the Array multiple tis over the following months.
But these summoning rituals, just like his expectations before setting up his first Array, only turned out to be a waste of materials, simply a waste of ti—he received not a single response.

In the endless slaughter, the Upright Apes began to multiply and spread across the savage lands, growing stronger, and increasingly more Ferocious Beasts fell beneath the feet of the Upright Apes, who had learned to work together and knew the tactics of mobbing.
But, in an Extraordinary world, the tactic of overwhelming numbers loses its aning after a certain point. Thus, by hunting various Extraordinary flesh, the Upright Apes that grew smarter knew fear.
They revered those Extraordinary Beasts that could easily slaughter them. In the beginning, the Upright Apes believed that these Giant Beasts were unreachable and impossible to hunt, so in extre fear, they learned to worship.
The first Totem worship was born, and each Upright Ape Tribe scattered across the land began to worship the Extraordinary Giant Beasts nearby according to their location.
But, in the vastness of the world, there are always so unique tribes, perhaps due to geographical reasons, they didn’t have any Extraordinary Beasts nearby that could directly threaten them.
Thus, this particular Upright Ape Tribe did not have much reverence, for in their understanding, there was no creature in the world they could not hunt.
And for this reason, the Upright Ape Tribe did not worship any deities to sacrifice to, because nobody would worship a being that would bleed under their attack, or even fall at their feet.
Therefore, these Upright Apes, whose living environnt was fairly advantageous, began to worship intangible natural phenona—the Majestic Mountain towering into the clouds, the vast river that stretched beyond sight, or the undulating Thunderclouds, the Sun bursting with endless light, and the Moon emanating soft, gentle light.
Above this land, there was a Upright Ape Tribe that chose to worship the vast and boundless Sky, although such a choice of worship was sowhat unique, it was still considered normal. However, their object of worship was not the general concept of the limitless Sky, but rather a more specific entity.
The Upright Ape Priest officiating the sacrifice believed that within the Sky, there resided an entity more powerful than any being on the Earth, an entity that dwelt above the Sky Do, controlling the cycle of day and night, the wind, and the Thunder. He was the master of everything in the world.
Well, it sounded quite impressive, but when compared to the real, tangible Extraordinary Beasts that most Upright Ape Tribes on Earth worshipped, what this Upright Ape Tribe worshipped and sacrificed to was, in fact, an imaginary existence concocted by their own minds.
However, in the Extraordinary World, an imagined existence—if believed in by a group of beings and daily sacrificed to—could beco real, the illusory could transform into reality.
Unfortunately, the imaginary existence that this Upright Ape Tribe had conjured up, if it were real, would be the master of this world. Therefore, with the scale of this Upright Ape Tribe, even with day and night sacrifices, the deity they worshipped would never beco real, no matter what.
Only if this Upright Ape Tribe could annex all other Upright Ape Tribes, suppress everything that resisted in the world, and lead the Upright Ape species to beco the absolute Overlord-level Creature of the world.

In the Sky Tribe, the Upright Apes who worshipped the Sky God prepared for their grand monthly sacrificial (self-indulging) ceremony, where they would offer as sacrifices the best prey hunted during the month, placed on the Altar.
Not a single Upright Ape skimped on the prey they had hunted, because they all understood that the deity they worshipped would not pay any heed to their sacrifices, and in the end, the offerings would still end up in their own stomachs.
Fierce Flas rose on the nearly fifty-ter-high stone stage, and the Upright Ape Priest adorned in feather attire watched the Spiritual Fire he had ignited and led a group of female Upright Apes in a Dance of the Sacrifice, passed down through generations in the Tribe.
As they danced, the Upright Ape Priest threw into the fire the Spiritual Materials collected by the tribe’s Warriors, which, though they seed precious, were actually of not much use to the tribe, like chicken ribs.
Just like the Dance of the Sacrifice he was performing, the leading Upright Ape Priest was well aware that his dance was nothing like that of the previous generation, but this was no big deal since every generation had their unique Dance of the Sacrifice.
Of course, that’s the nicer way to put it. In reality, the Dance of the Sacrifice was randomly made up by the Priest; they could dance however they wanted, as long as the group of female Upright Apes around the Spiritual Fire moved in unison.
But just as this ceremony was about to conclude, and so of the male apes kneeling below the Altar had begun to think about how to charm the attractive female Upright Apes during the upcoming Bonfire feast,
the Spiritual Fire on the Altar suddenly surged, a mighty entity, very similar to the imaginary concept of the Sky God of this peculiar Upright Ape Tribe, descended its will.
The red and yellow flas danced, quickly turning golden, then emanated a terrifying power of Devouring, drawing the Spirit from the mountain of sacrifices piled around the Altar to maintain the descended mighty will for a longer duration.
Thus, one could see the carcasses surrounding the Altar turning to ash at a pace visible to the Flesh Eye, and then, swept up by the gentle wind that had arisen at an unknown ti, they enveloped the Upright Apes who kneeled around the Altar, twisting their faces,
“The food… it’s gone!”
