Chapter 894: Chapter 300: The Coolidge Effect

“High School Musical” is the musical film in which Adrian demanded Liu Sisi play the villain role, one of the series acquired from Disney. He isn’t greedy; having a TV show and a series movie is enough. AC dia is still slightly behind Disney as an operator of family-oriented programs, hence the ntion of poor digestion.

However, producing “Hannah Montana” and “High School Musical” and making them equally popular is not difficult; otherwise, Hollywood’s professional teams could disband. Of course, the prospects for “High School Musical” are a bit vague because he placed a Chinese person in a major role.

From the beginning, Bill O’Reilly, who was responsible for the production, expressed opposition, believing it would be better to use local young people for the lead roles. He subtly implied, “Even if we need to include an Asian playing the villain, it should be an Arican.” Unsurprisingly, this was vetoed by Adrian. Everything he is doing now is to lay the groundwork for the Chinese market while other film companies are not paying attention or hesitating. How could he allow anyone to ruin it?

As for the prospects, although sowhat vague, they are only sowhat vague. Needless to say, the female lead is an unequivocal Arican—Camilla Belle, who played Vanessa Marcel’s daughter in “Desperate Housewives” and sufficiently chard Adrian to win this role.

In fact, apart from Liu Sisi’s role, all the other actors are Arican, and the script was modified to make the setting more reasonable. It’s critical to realize that it’s not easy for an Asian to beco the most popular girl in school, especially when she’s always been one of the main actors in the school’s musical. Thus, suppressing the female lead is more rational. A monologue was also inserted to garner so sympathy for the villain from the audience, making her not so hateful.

This distinguishes it from current Arican teen campus dramas; there’s no absolute villain, and it also adds depth, which critics will definitely appreciate.

Moreover, the script includes characters of various races, so how can Asians be excluded? When used to showcase the lting pot of the United States, nobody can argue. Ultimately, it’s still a matter of distribution and promotion. As for the reaction from the mainland regarding a Chinese person playing the villain, let’s not forget that this isn’t a traditional villain being bad from head to toe. If they can’t accept this small issue and want to escalate it, there’s no need to redeem the villain in the second film—which is a typical Hollywood maneuver.

Alright, enough about that. After finalizing this matter, Adrian left the Liu family. Although he had stayed over there before and even toyed with Liu Yufei next door to Liu Sisi, since Liu Sisi is now in the countdown to being consud, maintaining a good image for now is more appropriate.

Liu Sisi and Tyler, both should have an atmosphere created around them, seasoned well, cooked carefully, and then savored slowly. Eating too fast would lose its aning.

So things don’t require this. In mid-August, another comrcial blockbuster was released: the final installnt of the “X-n” trilogy. Although Adrian tried his best, it still ended up similar to the original. After all, there are so many characters and such a complex plot, so this was all that could be done.

Thus, Magneto, played by McLaren, still had to lift the Golden Gate Bridge, Phoenix, played by Zetajones, still went half-crazy with killer rage, and Rogue, played by Scarlett, remained marginalized. But that’s okay—Scarlett doesn’t need this role to boost her popularity and comrcial value anymore, and Adrian has arranged a decent film for her.

Of course, she still attended the premiere, and so did Adrian, with Zetajones absent due to being heavily pregnant and about to give birth.

However, after “X-n 3” was released, the most eye-catching person wasn’t Wolverine Hugh Jackman, Professor X Patrick Stewart, or Magneto Ian McKellen, nor was it Storm Halle Berry, but rather Ellen Page, who played Kitty Pryde in both the second and third installnts.

The reason is simple: a few days after “X-n 3” premiered and picked up the box office montum, a reporter took a photo of her having dinner with Adrian at Darren Restaurant in West Hollywood. This was big news, as there had been virtually no images of Adrian since the photos with Miracle Director and Julia, Monica, and recently with Nicole returning to the hotel in Cannes. All the rumors seed like castles in the air, heard but unseen.

This raised suspicions among many reporters. Within a year, two photos surfaced. Was the Miracle Director planning to open up his private life, or was there so conspiracy involved? Regardless, whatever Adrian was planning couldn’t stop the reporters from reporting first, resulting in headlines like “Miracle Director’s New Fla” and “Canadian Girl Dating Adrian” popping up everywhere.

Then one of the subjects, Ellen Page, stood up to angrily denounce the tabloid reporters’ trivial and vile behavior.

“I really did not expect to see such an irresponsible report. Indeed, I had dinner with Mr. Cowell at the Darren Restaurant that evening, but I believe the person who took the photograph should have seen that my agent and a producer were also present! I happened to et Mr. Cowell at the restaurant, and out of gratitude for recomnding for ‘Hard Candy’ and two ‘X-n’ films, my agent and I joined him for dinner. We parted ways afterward. What perplexes is why there are so many areas outside where a complete picture of four people could be taken, yet this particular reporter chose just that one angle!” This statent was issued by the Canadian girl through her agent, declaring that she reserves the right to sue.

anwhile, Adrian’s office also hinted that they would closely monitor the situation and wouldn’t mind going to court if necessary.

This carries much more weight than Ellen Page, the reporters can disregard the statents of that Canadian girl, but they absolutely cannot ignore Adrian’s. Silence fell swiftly. Moreover, more and more evidence—the diners at the restaurant at that ti, Ellen’s agent, that producer, etc.—all indicate that Ellen is telling the truth.

It is indeed the truth, though only a part. Ellen did have dinner with her agent, Adrian, and a producer at the Darren Restaurant, and they did leave separately afterward. It’s just… Ellen wouldn’t tell anyone that a few hours later, she drove to Santa Monica, where she clung to Adrian like an octopus in his villa, screaming excitedly all night.

Adrian quite liked Ellen Page’s baby face. Maybe at first glance she didn’t seem beautiful, but over ti, she had a certain charm. Unfortunately, the timing was a bit late. Back when “X-n 2” was in production, she unexpectedly beca the actress for Shadowcat. Unfortunately, by the ti Adrian noticed, Marvel and Columbia were already auditioning for “X-n 3.” Otherwise, adding another type to his collection would have been nice.

But that’s okay, the world is always full of imperfections, and… for now, just tasting the freshness from ti to ti is enough.

So, under his intervention, Ellen Page was able to continue trying out for Shadowcat. anwhile, he intercepted the script for “Hard Candy” and handed it to her. Without a doubt, the Canadian girl began to integrate into Hollywood, and with a man like him, it’s easy to attract young girls, so Ellen eventually ended up in his bed.

Of course, this girl was still very smart. Although they had a wild night, the next morning she lay on Adrian’s chest and asked, “Am I different from… the other won you’ve slept with before?”

With a hint of provocation, a hint of inquiry, and a touch of candor and honesty, she looked very cute.

“Of course, you’re very cute, cuter than anyone,” Adrian said sincerely. At least among his won, in terms of cuteness alone, there really weren’t many who could match Ellen.

She had a kind of aura or taste, standing there, lying there, with a gentle, simple smile at the corners of her eyes and mouth. Adrian always liked won with personality, especially since she was so petite, even smaller than Vini and Eva Longoria. The pleasure of pressing her under him was unforgettable.

“It’s really a sha I t you only now,” Adrian imdiately added, still sincere.

“I’m glad I t you only now,” Ellen’s eyes dimd for a mont but quickly replied, and with that, he unceremoniously pinned her on the bed for another morning of “discipline.”

Once again, it’s really a bit of a pity, and she’s very clever; wanting to keep playing around could be… who knows? Future matters will be dealt with in the future.

Of course, so things can be hidden from the reporters, dia, and the public, but not from certain people.

“He’s just like that, and you should be prepared when you decide to get pregnant, shouldn’t you?” Julia said, peeling an apple while sitting by the bed, speaking to Zetajones, who was leaning against the headboard. “At least he often cos to see you. Think about , when I was pregnant with Patricia, he didn’t co more than ten tis.”

“Although I’m a bit unhappy, Julia, you’re exaggerating,” said the noticeably plumper Zetajones with a sigh due to pregnancy.

“See, see, you were blaming him just now, and now you’re defending him,” Julia laughed imdiately. Zetajones rolled her eyes at her, then stroked her rounded belly and sighed again: “Okay, I’m just a bit emotional, you know pregnant won are like this… If it was just Scarlett, it would be fine, but he obviously hooked up with that little girl too… Does he want to have all the female roles in the entire movie one by one?”

“If he wanted to, I guarantee he would,” Julia shrugged. “You should know, that ABC show, the hugely popular ‘Desperate Housewives,’ everyone from the lead actresses to the writers rolled over in his bed. Those young girls certainly weren’t left out. So, the surprising thing is that he didn’t hook up with Ellen Page. There’s no such thing as a cat that doesn’t sneak around in this world, especially not one as vigorous, or shall we say, a lion.”

“When did you start accepting his reasoning, Julia?” Zetajones asked in surprise, looking at her.

“No, no, no, my dear Catherine, what I an is, if we want to keep him interested in us, a little flirting is necessary.” Julia spread her hands with so helplessness and a bit of candor, “Do you know the famous Coolidge Effect? It’s said that after Calvin Coolidge beca president, he and his wife once toured a poultry farm. During the visit, Mrs. Coolidge asked the farr how they managed to produce so many fertilized eggs with so few roosters. The farr proudly explained that his roosters perford their duties dozens of tis a day. ‘Please tell that to Mr. Coolidge,’ the first lady insisted. Upon hearing this, the president asked the farr, ‘Does the rooster service the sa hen each ti?’ ‘No,’ the farr replied, ‘there are many different hens.’ ‘Please relay that to Mrs. Coolidge,’ the president responded.”

“You’re trying to say…” Zetajones frowned.

“A man’s stamina and endurance in battle is proportional to the number of won, there’s scientific research on that,” Julia raised an eyebrow, “you should know better than , shouldn’t you?”

Zetajones was taken aback, and then she realized it, becoming slightly awkward: “Well… he didn’t seem that brave on the beach either.”

Despite saying so, her eyes looked elsewhere, clearly not matching what she said, but a few seconds later she thought of sothing and turned her head: “This isn’t like you, Julia. When did you ever care about this?”

“Alright, I admit, these… were all told to by Charlize,” Julia hesitated for a mont but then spoke up.

“Charlize?” Zetajones’s eyebrows imdiately furrowed, “You have succumbed to them already, Julia? Have you already yielded to them?”

“Calm down, Catherine,” Julia raised her hands and pressed down, “listen to , there’s no harm in listening to so of Charlize’s opinions, you must admit, she knows that bastard better than we do.”

“…Okay,” Zetajones pursed her lips and nodded, “This explanation is acceptable, at least it wasn’t Kate Beckinsale who told you these things.”

ntioning that na, she couldn’t help but snort, while Julia pretended not to notice: “So, to keep him interested in us, a little flirting is okay, as long as he rembers… as long as he doesn’t add any more…”

Julia didn’t finish, just looking sowhere else with a bit of lancholy, Zetajones didn’t ask as she understood the aning, so she just asked: “If… I an if… he not only… but also shows no sign of restraint?”

“Everyone’s tolerance has a limit,” Julia imdiately laughed, “by then, without us saying a word, soone will naturally be very dissatisfied, and he will have to face the consequences. In fact, I’ve always hoped for such a day, so we, and even everyone, can be free from this tyrant’s control.”

“Ah, how eloquent,” Zetajones rolled her eyes at her.

Julia wasn’t annoyed, cutting a piece of apple and handing it to Zetajones’s mouth: “You’ll stand by , won’t you, Catherine?”

“Of course.” Zetajones took a bite.

But Julia did not withdraw her hand, instead, she twirled her raised index finger in the air intentionally, Zetajones again rolled her eyes at her, swallowed the fruit flesh, and opened her mouth to suck on it again, then, a familiar voice rang out: “Hey, can’t you two consider the occasion?”

Looking towards the door, Adrian stood there, one hand blocking Patricia’s view in front of him, preventing her from seeing the scene, but the little one who was already two years old was trying to pull away the hand that was obstructing her view in stubborn defiance.

“Next ti, rember to close the door if you’re going to be like that, otherwise Papa will see,” he ca over, continuing with a mischievous smile.

“When did you get here?” Julia raised an eyebrow and asked.

“A while ago, just in ti to hear sothing about a tyrant,” Adrian shrugged.

“Tyrant, what?” The curious Patricia, having looked around and found nothing, asked sowhat disappointedly, nibbling on her finger.

“A tyrant is a bad guy, dear,” Julia got up and reached out to her daughter, the little one scrambled out of her dad’s arms without a thought, and jumped onto her mom.

“Do you think daddy is a tyrant?” Julia asked again, and without a doubt, Patricia gave a resounding answer: “Yes!”

“I really have to give Lily a lesson; she always likes to instill these things into her sisters,” Adrian shook his head helplessly.

“But what she says is the truth, isn’t it?” Julia teased with a smile.

“Papa is just… I think ‘tsundere’ might be a good description,” Adrian smacked his lips.

“What does that an? Why use a Chinese word?” Julia curiously asked, letting the little one struggle down, who then stumbled and climbed onto the bed to snuggle with Zetajones.

“Uh… it’s hard to describe, probably ans saying one thing but aning another… Anyway, Papa and I don’t get along, and Lily teaches her these things, which seriously affects our father-daughter relationship,” Adrian said sincerely, which, of course, earned him a roll of the eyes from Julia, while the little one sat next to Zetajones, pressing her ear against her protruding belly to listen.

“I don’t hear any sound,” Patricia asked in her baby-like voice, her big eyes wide open, looking very cute.

“Because Kelis is asleep, she usually sleeps for a long ti,” Zetajones replied, her round face glowing with a maternal smile.

Kelis was the na of the child in her belly, yes, it’s a girl, with an 80% probability according to the check-up, which perfectly matched Adrian’s usual pattern, so no one considered a boy’s na. Of course, the baby’s na was chosen by Adrian, following his usual quirky taste, but…

“Ed.” ntioning the baby in her belly, Zetajones imdiately looked at Adrian with a pleading gaze.

“Alright, but I have to seek everyone’s opinion first,” Adrian sighed and said.

Zetajones wanted to na the baby Kelis Zeta Cowell, but Adrian rejected this proposal, but Zetajones was not reconciled, nagging many tis, thinking about it carefully, this was actually nothing, mainly based on fairness consideration, after all, other daughters did not have such treatnt. But since that’s the case, why not rena all the children, and that would be fair, and the won would surely agree.

“Was I also always in mommy’s belly when I was so small?” Seeing that she was being ignored, Patricia imdiately spoke up to show her presence.

Everyone laughed, just chatting with the little one until Little Emma returned.
