“I’m really leaving, Kate,” Adrian kissed the top of her head again, “but I’ll be back soon, I promise. When I do, let’s take so ti to relax, like going back to London together. Emma misses you a lot.”
“She does not miss . She’d be thrilled if I disappeared forever,” Kate retorted subconsciously.
“How could that be? When I visited her in London over the New Year, she asked about you,” Adrian shrugged his shoulders. Seeing her turn around with a look of curiosity, he laughed again, “Emma asked if you were no longer with and if you would never co back. If that’s true, I’d be so happy!”
He deliberately imitated a little girl’s voice, making Kate involuntarily swing her fist as if to hit him.
Adrian dodged with a laugh, then let go of her, “Okay, I’m really leaving now. Take care of yourself and watch your health. Your injury has just healed recently, hasn’t it?”
“I know.” Kate nodded and felt Adrian’s caress under her ribs. Then suddenly she looked at him, “Roger told you, didn’t he?”
“Yes,” he hesitated for two seconds before nodding, “after all, I’m his boss.”
Kate opened her mouth but ended up letting out a self-mocking snicker, “Even without him, you’d have other ways to get information about , right? You arranged for to star in ‘Twisters,’ didn’t you? You know everything about , don’t you?”
