The middle-aged man nodded and said, "I see, my na is Simon, and I suppose I am sowhat of a steward here. Give your magic card, and I’ll help you get your monthly stipend and magic robe."

Ah Dai quickly handed over the magic card he was holding and gratefully said, "Uncle, thank you."

Simon took Ah Dai’s magic card, glanced at it, and laughed, "It turns out you are a fire mage like ; we should exchange knowledge whenever we get the chance. Don’t be shy here; a mage coming here is like returning ho. Oh, and don’t call uncle; I’m still very young! Haha." After saying that, he turned and walked towards a counter nearby. He handed Ah Dai’s magic card to soone behind the counter and said sothing.

The mages who were chatting nearby all gave Ah Dai friendly smiles, and Ah Dai hurriedly returned the gesture. Among these mages, surprisingly, four or five were at the level of great mages, and they seed to know each other very well. A water elent great mage said, "The Empire of Sunset City has been rather quiet lately, I wonder what those filthy fellows are plotting now."

An earth system mage wearing a yellow magic robe said disdainfully, "Pfft, a lowly race like the Empire of Sunset City should have been wiped out long ago."

"That’s not entirely fair. While the Empire of Sunset City is dark, it’s not true that there are no good people there. But if they dare to provoke us again, I believe Washington will definitely show them what we’re capable of."

A younger fire mage proudly said, "How could the Empire of Sunset City be a match for us in Washington? Just our unique mage corps alone is not sothing they can handle."

The water elent great mage from before said, "You can’t say that either. Although the power of the Empire is less than ours, they have indeed made a lot of money through those dark forces. Speaking of wealth, Washington can’t compare to them! You know, many of the big rcenary corps on the continent are employed by the Empire, and both the Assassin’s Guild and the Thieves’ Guild are in cahoots with them. If it really cos down to a fight, our situation is not optimistic."

Upon hearing this, everyone beca thoughtful. When Ah Dai heard the words "Assassin’s Guild," a surge of anger welled up in his heart, and he spat hatefully, "What’s so great about the Assassin’s Guild? Sooner or later, I will wipe them out."

All the mages turned their gaze to Ah Dai, and the proud fire mage praised, "Good, young man, that’s the spirit. What’s the Assassin’s Guild anyway? They only know how to sneak around and ambush. There will co a day when they will perish. Don’t let see anyone from the Assassin’s Guild, or I, Sida, will kill every single one I et."

The composed water mage said, "It’s good for youths to be spirited, but don’t overdo it. The power of the Assassin’s Guild is still quite formidable."

Sida snorted, and although he disagreed with the old mage, he did not argue out of respect.

Just then, Ah Dai suddenly felt a strong killing intent enveloping him. A black shadow flashed by, and a quiet dark glow headed straight for Sida. "Not good,", Moving instinctively, Ah Dai imdiately exerted his True Qi to the extre, his body shot out like lightning, outpacing the attack, and reached for the dark glow.

With a light tinging sound, Ah Dai successfully caught it in his hand. It was a short black blade, not very long, coated in a substance that only reflected a sliver of light, and the person holding the blade was wrapped in black tight-fitting clothes with only a hood, showing nothing but a pair of cold, gleaming eyes.

The blade’s edge was marked with dark purple traces, obviously poisoned, but in Ah Dai’s hand, which was glowing with a yellow light, it could not advance an inch further.

The mages only then caught on and exclaid in unison, "Assassin!"

Seeing that he could not retrieve his weapon, the assassin suddenly let go and hurled his body towards Ah Dai. Hearing the identity of the opponent inflad Ah Dai’s anger even more, and he t the attack with a fierce punch. The assassin’s body twisted strangely, emitting a burst of smoke and vanishing on the spot. In the blink of an eye, a sharp tallic wind ca from behind Ah Dai. Such a speed of ambush was ineffective against Ah Dai; his body slightly shifted, drifting a foot away like a wisp of smoke, and a dark light stabbed into the air. Ah Dai scoffed coldly, the short blade in his hand gathered imnse True Qi, the aura completely locked onto the assassin, the enormous pressure imdiately causing the assassin’s form to hesitate; seizing the opportunity, Ah Dai landed the blade onto the assassin’s shoulder. Chilling air seeped from the blade, making the assassin dare not move.

The exchange had only lasted a few seconds, and it was only now that Sida fully ca to his senses, just about to chant a spell, but he found the assassin was already subdued by Ah Dai. Seeing the poisoned short blade in Ah Dai’s hand and rembering the assassin’s attack speed, his entire body broke out in a cold sweat. For mages, assassins and thieves are the most terrifying enemies, their attacks are too hard to defend against.

Ah Dai breathed a sigh of relief and angrily said, "You’re an assassin, quickly tell where the headquarters of the Assassin’s Guild is? Tell , and I will let you go."

The assassin’s eyes showed a hint of mockery as he scoffed coldly, suddenly whipping his head towards the direction of the blade. Before Ah Dai could react, the assassin’s throat was sliced open by the sharp blade, and blood sprayed out instantly. Although Ah Dai was protected by True Qi and was not splashed with blood, the scene still made him feel nauseated.
