Yan Shi and Yan Li were both ditating on the side, while Xuan Yue had placed Ah Dai’s head on her lap to make his sleep more comfortable, gently stroking his forehead with eyes full of tenderness.

After resting his head on Xuan Yue’s soft lap, Ah Dai’s brows slowly relaxed, and he fell into a deep sleep. Xuan Yue wasn’t idle either, she closed her eyes and started to ditate. If she was to help Ah Dai recover using a larger Light Magic spell, she first needed to maintain her optimal condition.

By noon, everyone, including Ah Dai, gradually woke up. Yan Shi and Yan Li had mostly recovered after their ditation. Xuan Yue’s already scant Magic Power had also returned, but Ah Dai’s body was still weak from excessive blood loss, and the wound on his back was faintly painful. When he woke up and found himself lying on Xuan Yue’s legs, he was startled and hurriedly struggled to get up, which also roused Xuan Yue from her rest.

"Yue Yue, I, how co I...?"

Blushing, Xuan Yue avoided his question, "Are you feeling any better? Is there any place that still hurts?"

Ah Dai’s lips twitched slightly, "No, not anymore. I’m much better, just a bit weak. I should recover in a day or two. Yesterday, after I fainted, you didn’t get hurt, did you?"

With her head down, Xuan Yue shook her head and said softly, "No, how could I be hurt when you were desperately protecting ?"

Yan Li ca over with a chuckle, "What’s with you two, you both seem a bit off?"

Ah Dai moved his sowhat stiff body and forced out, "We, we are not off! Brother Yan Li, was it you guys who ca back to save us yesterday? When I fainted, there were still many people around. Those n in black are too hateful, killing so many people from my tribe."

Unaware of Yan Shi’s warning look, Yan Li replied with a wry smile, "What do you an we saved you? You really surprised us yesterday. By the ti we got there, those bandits called the ’Wolves of the Prairie’ had already turned foolish, and later, they mysteriously died one by one. Ah Dai, what happened there?"

Hearing Yan Li’s words, Ah Dai was shocked through and through. He clearly understood that it was the effect of the Sword of Hades; the events before he fainted kept resurfacing in his mind. He urgently asked, "Brother Yan Li, what are you saying? Did all those thousand people die?"

Yan Li said, "It wasn’t all of them, but almost did. The few who escaped, we killed them too. Those bastards, they had it coming, they’ve had so much blood on their hands. Brother, you have to tell , how did you kill those bastards? That was nearly a thousand people! Was it magic? But, how co there are no wounds?"

Ah Dai’s complexion turned deathly pale. He had never anticipated that his montary rage could have led to the deaths of thousands. The oppression in his heart caused his whole body to tremble slightly; suddenly, he vomited a mouthful of fresh blood and collapsed to the ground.

Xuan Yue was shocked and quickly cradled his upper body, shaking him, "Ah Dai, Ah Dai, what happened to you?"

With a hollow look and tears streaming down his face, Ah Dai murmured, "I, I actually killed thousands, am I a demon? Why would this happen? Why?"

Holding Ah Dai’s head tightly, tears flowing, Xuan Yue said, "Ah Dai, you can’t bla yourself! It’s not your fault, those people deserved to die, there’s nothing wrong with what you did, stop thinking about it, let’s just leave this place, shall we?" After speaking, she glared fiercely at Yan Li and began to chant the Vitality Restoration Technique spell.

Yan Shi pulled the clueless Yan Li aside and said, "Never ntion what happened last night again."

Scratching his head, Yan Li asked quietly, "Big brother, what really happened here? Did brother Ah Dai get so shocking news? Why did he suddenly vomit blood?"

Annoyed, Yan Shi said, "You think everyone is as insensitive as you? Ah Dai suddenly realized he killed nearly a thousand people. With his kind heart, how could he accept that? Although I don’t know how he did it. But it’s better not to ask in the future. When he wants to talk about it, he’ll naturally tell us. Go ask the Chief for a few horses, then get so food. After we eat, we’ll leave here, we better get moving. I’m worried the tribe might co looking for Ah Dai. It’s better not to provoke him right now."

With a nod, Yan Li left. Yan Shi watched Ah Dai and Xuan Yue enveloped in a white light, sighing softly, he too was curious about how Ah Dai eliminated those much stronger enemies. But seeing him like this, how could he ask? Better to let things take their course.

With the aid of Xuan Yue’s Vitality Restoration Technique, Ah Dai’s physical wounds were nearly healed, but the emotional burden in his heart was hardly diminished. He kept his head down, silent; while Xuan Yue, though anxious, knew she shouldn’t provoke him further, so she simply stayed by his side quietly.

After a while, Yan Li returned, bringing with him three fine horses and many unique tribal foods. Yan Shi and Yan Li ate a lot, but Ah Dai, who usually had the biggest appetite, only ate a little under Xuan Yue’s persuasion, his expression even more vacant.
