In the back hall of the Magic Guild.
Ah Dai chanted, "Fire elent filling the heavens and earth, please grant the power to burn. In my na, I borrow your power, appear now, burning flas." With a hissing sound, two deep blue flas suddenly materialized in Ah Dai’s palms.
Kigg took a step back in surprise. To be able to conjure blue flas signified that the magician had reached an interdiate level or above. He quickly recited a spell and ford a Water’s Guard in front of him. As the spell was chanted, a faintly blue ripple appeared before him, stopping the heat radiating from Ah Dai’s Fla Spell.
But, Ah Dai’s magic didn’t end there. He slowly clapped his palms together and loudly chanted, "Rise, Fire Ball." Under his astonishing spiritual power, small fireballs with a diater of about three centiters condensed continuously from the blue flas, floating in the air. A flash of brilliance crossed over Ah Dai’s eyes, and swashing blue fireballs rushed towards Kigg.
Kigg praised, "Good, powerful teor Fire. Water’s Guard, in your na, borrow the water elent from heaven and earth and solidify — Ice Wall." Under the effect of his spell, a thick white layer of ice instantly ford in front of Kigg.
"Whack, whack, whack..." The blue fireballs continuously battered against the Ice Wall in front of Ah Dai, leaving deep marks each ti.
Kigg initially thought that Ah Dai’s teor Fire would only have the power of one wave of attack. But, to his surprise, the fireballs kept coming relentlessly, continuously battering the ice wall. In a short while, cracks began to appear on the Ice Wall, which started to crumble. Backing off two steps, Kigg had no choice but to conjure up another Ice Wall.
Ah Dai did not stop his teor Fire not because he didn’t want to, but out of anxiety. His magic power was quickly depleting under such intense usage. The Ice Wall in front of him blocked all of his attacks; he could only keep controlling the teor Fire to attack. In his mind, he must break through Kigg’s defense to pass the test.
Ah Dai successfully broke through two Ice Walls. When Kigg set up the third Ice Wall, Ah Dai’s magic power was finally exhausted. His face turned pale, and the blue fla in his hand gradually extinguished. He slumped, a strong sense of fatigue stopped him in his tracks, and he gasped for breath. Ah Dai felt extrely bitter; why couldn’t he even pass the Junior Magician test?
Kigg’s surprise was greater than his, although Ah Dai had depleted his Magic Power, he himself was not relaxed, of course, this was related to rely being in defense.
Dismissing his Ice Wall, Kigg approached Ah Dai and praised, "Young man, you’re excellent; such Magic Power at a young age. You’ve got a bright future! With your Magic Power, why not cast bigger spells? Although the teor Fire will strengthen as your Magic Power increases, it is still just an interdiate-level magic and can never muster too much power."
Ah Dai lowered his head and muttered, "I... I only know how to use teor Fire, that’s my best magic. I... I’m leaving." He turned and walked towards the door.
Kigg quickly called him back, looking surprised, and said, "You haven’t received your Magic Badge and monthly salary yet. Why are you in such a hurry to leave?"
Ah Dai looked puzzled, pointing at his nose, he asked, "Can I get the Magic Badge without passing the test?"
Then Kigg understood that the talented, silly boy standing before him actually thought he had failed the test. He chuckled, "Son, your performance was good. With your magic level, you’ve definitely achieved the rank of an Interdiate Magician. If you knew bigger spells, you may even reach the realm of a high-level magician. Go ho and learn more from your teacher. I expect when you take the test next ti, you will pass the Senior Magician evaluation. For your age, it’s rare to see anyone who has achieved such a level, excluding the cleric."
Ah Dai was overjoyed, and asked, "So you’re saying, I passed the Junior Magician certification?"
Kigg replied, "No, you passed the Interdiate Magician test. Hold on, I’ll get the registry. Once I’ve registered you, you’ll beco an officially certified Interdiate Magician."
"Thank you, thank you, Uncle Kigg."
Kigg frowned, "From now on, don’t call uncle, call Magician Kigg."
Having passed the magic test, Ah Dai was overjoyed. He had finally fulfilled one of Owen’s wishes. Excited, he said, "Yes, yes. Thank you, Magician Kigg."
Kigg gave a slight nod, walked to the wall behind him, and recited a short spell. A blue halo flashed and a small door appeared. Under Ah Dai’s astonished gaze, Kigg opened the door and walked in.
With admiration, Ah Dai thought that Magician Kigg’s magic level was truly profound! He wondered if Teacher Goris had this kind of power. When he returned to his teacher, he would surely study magic very closely. To Ah Dai, the splendid magic was much more interesting than the tedious martial arts training.
Just as he was thinking, the door from the back room to the front hall suddenly opened. The Old Magician ran in with a flustered look on his face, glanced at Ah Dai, and asked, "Kid, where is the Chapter president?"
Truthfully Ah Dai responded, "He said I passed the test and went to get the forms."
The Old Magician looked stunned and said jealously, "I didn’t expect you to really pass the test, the young are so unrealistic, learning both martial arts and magic, be careful not to learn anything in the end."
Ah Dai hurriedly nodded, "Indeed, my uncle once told sothing similar, thank you for your teaching."
Ah Dai’s courtesy made the Old Magician sowhat awkward. He coughed twice and didn’t say anything more.
"Why is it taking so long! Is everyone in the Magicians Guild this inefficient?" A clear voice, like a silver bell, ca from the direction of the hall.
The door opened, and Ah Dai felt as if his eyes were suddenly enlightened. It seed that the whole back room lightened up because of the person who entered. It was a girl who looked about fourteen or fifteen years old, standing there like an angel. She had light blue hair tied up into two braids on her head, a height of about 1.6 ters, and a white, flawless dress. Her fair face had two faint dimples, a pair of charming, lively large blue eyes, a soft anger on her face, a hand on her small waist, and the other holding a small magic wand of just one foot long, looking discontented at the Old Magician. Ah Dai felt vaguely that the wand was definitely not ordinary. Moreover, the girl had a faint sacred aura about her, accentuating her fairy-like appearance.
Ah Dai’s eyes were completely straight. When had he ever seen such a beautiful and ethereal beauty! Compared to her, Si Fei was just a glow compared to the bright moon. His stunned gaze was imdiately spotted by the girl. The girl gave an angry hum, pointed her magic wand at Ah Dai’s nose and said, "You big dummy, what are you looking at? Haven’t you seen a beauty before?"
Ah Dai lowered his blushing face, and thought to himself, this girl may look nice, but her temper is too fiery, much fiercer than Si Fei, and Si Fei is the most kind to him.
The Old Magician smiled apologetically and said, "Miss, why don’t you wait up front. The Chapter president has gone to get sothing and will be back soon."
The girl pouted and said, "No, I’ll wait for him here. You go find him for quickly, you people are too inefficient. If I wasn’t in urgent need of money, I wouldn’t co to this hellhole."
Just then, Kigg finally ca out of the door in the wall, holding a stack of things in his hand. When he saw the situation before him, he was taken aback. He looked at the huffing girl, and asked the Old Magician, "Old Huang, what’s going on?"
Seeing Kigg, the Old Magician gave a sigh of relief and said with a bitter smile, "I don’t know what day it is. Usually, we often don’t have anyone coming to take the magic test for a whole month, but today two ca all at once. This young lady here also wants to take the magic test. You handle it, I’ll head to the front." After talking, he hurriedly left.
Kigg handed the items in his hand to Ah Dai and said, "Young man, you will need to wait a bit longer. After I finish testing this lady here, I will register you."
