"Oh fire elent that pervades the heavens and the earth! Please grant your burning power. I summon you in my na, borrowing your power. Appear, scorching flas." In an instant, two deep blue flas appeared in the palm of Ah Dai’s hands. He slowly brought his hands together and chanted loudly, "Rise, Fire Ball." Under the impressive force of spiritual power, the blue flas continuously ford into small fireballs about five centiters in diater, floating in the air. A glint flashed across Ah Dai’s eyes as a large number of blue fireballs surged towards the massive building in front of him. Accompanied by its extre heat, the splendid Dark Aristocrat’s Night Club was set ablaze, gradually engulfed by the blue flas under the assault of the Fireball Technique. Looking at his work, Ah Dai sowhat satisfactorily squinted his eyes, pulled out Ice’s portrait from his chest, turned the face of the portrait towards the flas and said in a murmur, "Ice, do you see it? The Dark Aristocrat’s Night Club, which has caused you so much suffering over the years, has been devoured by the fire. Do you think these flas are beautiful? They will clean up this filthy place entirely, so that it can no longer harm anyone in the future." Ah Dai heaved a sigh and continued, "Ice, we have to go. It’s ti to find the one who brought you so much agony." He carefully put the portrait of Ice back into his chest, and with a flicker of his figure, he drifted towards the North of the city.

In a dark room within the mansion of the Lord of Dark City, Horton paced back and forth while Cat Woman Mimi sat sullenly aside. After a day’s rest, Mimi was mostly healed, but their spirits had plunged deeply. An otherwise foolproof plan was ruined in the end, resulting in such considerable losses for Dark City. Nearly twenty thousand soldiers were killed under the surge of golden energy. Though Horton had been keeping the news under wraps, he was well aware that this wasn’t a solution. The upper echelons of the Empire of the Sunset City would eventually find out about this. What he feared the most now was retaliation from that mage. The young mage who had summoned dragons sent chills down his spine whenever he thought about him. Horton knew he was incapable of dealing with the force that managed to level hundreds of square kiloters in an instant.

Impatiently, Mimi said, "Stop pacing back and forth."

Horton stopped in his tracks and looked at Mimi. "Miss, why don’t you co up with a solution? Given the present circumstances, how am I supposed to report to the Duke? Moreover, it’s likely that those people would be back to take revenge. I have been a loyal friend to your Church, and I have provided a large part of the funds required for its operation. Do you really want to stand by and watch die?"

After a mont of silence, Mimi replied tersely, "It was all ruined by that wench called Ice who works for you. If she hadn’t interfered, that mage would probably have been dead by now. I don’t know how I can help you at this point. Given your relationship with the Duke, he should definitely protect you. However, we first need to deal with that mage. He poses a threat not only to you but to us as well. His power is simply too terrifying. Even if he didn’t have dragons supporting him, I might not be able to take him."

Horton sighed, "Who knew one would land in such deep trouble? That young man managed to summon two dragons despite suffering from severe injuries and potent poison. Although there are still many experts in the mansion, they cannot resist the golden light emitted by that unknown entity." Given that all the individuals who witnessed Sheng Xie horcrux’s dragon summoning were killed, they could rely speculate that the golden light was caused by Ah Dai and his group but did not know the exact circumstances.

Mimi shuddered as she recalled the golden light from the previous night. When the golden light first appeared, she sensed danger and began sprinting desperately. She managed to escape the affected area just as the golden light exploded. However, the dazzling afterglow left a profound impression on her heart. The catastrophic energy emitted by the golden light could still make her heart skip a beat. She sighed and suggested, "If worse cos to worst, you can temporarily abandon this place and co back with to the Church. After we find a way to eliminate that mage, you can return and rebuild your forces in Dark City."

Mimi’s suggestion indeed tempted Horton. However, how could he give up his assets here? His roots were here, and he didn’t know what it would turn into if he left. Moreover, his uncle was on his deathbed, and he had nearly bribed all the powerful individuals at the court. Once his uncle died, he could naturally inherit his uncle’s title of count and the position of Lord of Dark City - these were things he could not give up.

As Horton was indecisive, urgent footsteps echoed from outside, followed by a panicked voice, "Viscount! Viscount! There’s trouble!"

Horton frowned, opened the door of the room, and saw one of his n panting heavily with a panicked expression. Angrily, he said, "What’s the panic about? What happened?"

The subordinate gasped for breath, "Sir, the Fires of Night Club has caught fire. The flas appear to be enormous. We can clearly see it from here. Please, go take a look."

Horton was shocked. The Fires of Night could be said to be his main source of inco, having invested nearly ten years of effort to build the business to its current scale, making it the largest casino in Dark City. In his panic, he whirled around to look at the cat woman who had followed him out, ice-cold glimrs shimring in her eyes. With a frosty voice, she commanded, "Fires don’t start without a reason. Let’s go take a look. Gather all your best n. Be very careful."

Seeing the cat woman’s calm deanor alleviated Horton’s anxiety sowhat. He instructed the subordinate, "Go, gather everyone and have them assemble in the courtyard. Rember not to alert the city lord. Get the guards out of sight. I don’t want those useless fellows seeing anything. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Viscount." The subordinate agreed, turning around to deliver the orders.

Horton turned back and lifted a longsword studded with gemstones from the wall of his room. It was an expensive piece he had acquired from a master alchemist. With a length of just over three feet, it exuded a divine aura without any effort, said to be blessed with an everlasting holy magic by a white robe priest, possessing the ability to eradicate all evil forces. At the ti Horton got this sword, he was amused at the irony of it, considering the deeds he had committed. Holding the sword in his hand, the divine aura seeped into him, instantly providing a much-needed sense of tranquillity.

The cat woman glanced at the longsword in Horton’s hand with a disgusted look on her face. She frowned, "Why do you wield such a sword?"

Horton laughed bitterly, "It’s the only thing that gives peace of mind. I hope that mage hasn’t returned."

A glint of coldness flashed in the cat woman’s eyes. As one of the twelve great Kings of the organization, this was the first ti she felt unable to combat a threat. A burning rage had already kindled inside her. She sneered, "Even if he shows up, what of it? Sooner or later, I will make him perish under my claws. Let’s go, your n are probably gathering."

Horton nodded, and the two of them exited the room together. Swiftly, they arrived at the courtyard of the City Lord’s Mansion where forty to fifty people were assembled, each exuding a strong aura. Horton had hired these n through various ans, including two powerful magicians who had defected from the Mages Guild. His team would’ve been even more formidable had those dozen mages not perished while confronting Ah Dai and his allies earlier. Seeing the remarkable capabilities of his n, Horton felt a sense of reassurance. Looking at the Fires of Night club in the distance, Horton swore through gritted teeth, "Everyone should have noticed by now, my Fires of Night club is on fire. Likely, it’s arson. I don’t know who is audacious enough to ss with my place, but I won’t let anyone off the hook. Now it’s ti to show your true strength. Follow ." Finishing his speech, he set out for the mansion entrance, followed by the cat woman.
