Nick used his mory ability to access the minds of the two engineers.
The two engineers were only in the Fourth Realm, which ant accessing their minds wasn't difficult for Nick.
The first ti Nick had read the mories of the aliens, he had already dealt with the unfamiliar way of thinking the Amorphous Race had.
The way they ford concepts in their minds was completely different from life on Earth.
The two engineers went into a trance-like state.
Then, Nick appeared behind one of the aliens and cut off a tentacle.
The tentacle in Nick's hands turned into dust as Nick analyzed the genetic makeup of this alien.
A mont later, Nick turned into a perfect copy of the alien in front of him.
Nick's tentacles wrapped around the alien, secreting several complex enzys.
As the enzys covered the alien, its cells started to denature.
They beca weaker, and goo started to form on top of its body.
An opening appeared in Nick's body, and the opening sucked the goo off the alien's body.
This was how the engineers grew more powerful.
The goo could easily be turned into Pure Energy.
As the goo entered Nick's body, he felt his body breaking apart.
At this mont, Nick's new body was only in the First Realm since he had only just created it, and the amount of energy he was absorbing was thousands of tis higher.
If a normal being ate this much goo, their body would explode due to the energy difference.
However, Nick had complete control over his biology and the energy.
He forced several complex biological processes to start.
The cells all over Nick's body were bloating, cracking, reforming, bloating, cracking, reforming, and so on.
The pain signals that were sent to Nick were unreasonably strong.
It was akin to having one's entire body burning.
But that didn't matter to Nick.
Physical pain had long since lost its aning.
Over the next minutes, Nick forced his body to grow.
Without his exceptional control, the body would have already died many tis over.
After three minutes, Nick advanced to the Late Third Realm.
The energy he had harvested wasn't enough to push him to the Fourth Realm since he couldn't perfectly transfer 100% of the alien's energy.
The goo was only so efficient.
When Nick had fully digested the alien, he summoned several Pure Energy generators and blasted his body with Pure Energy.
As before, Nick's body was growing far faster than should be possible, and ten minutes later, he advanced to the Fourth Realm.
The other engineer had already walked over under Nick's command.
Nick and the engineer held tentacles and released several special chemicals.
Monts later, Nick felt a form of connection being established in his mind.
This was how the Amorphous Race bonded.
It wasn't sexual since the Amorphous Race could only procreate via the Mother.
This was simply an intrinsic connection between a pair.
This connection was unbreakable, and if one of them died, the other one would die as well.
Of course, with Nick's control over biology and energies, he could circumvent this failsafe.
He just needed to tweak a couple of things.
Doing this usually required an Illusionist in the Seventh Realm or stronger.
After establishing the connection, Nick commanded the other engineer to return to work.
Over the next minutes, Nick's control over the other engineer weakened until it returned to its usual self.
Naturally, it didn't know that its true partner had died and that Nick had taken its place.
While the other engineer was working, Nick also dealt with his own tasks.
He inspected the machines over the next minutes.
"Ping," the other engineer transmitted emotionlessly via the intrinsic connection.
"Ping," Nick sent back.
This was another safety feature.
This was similar to lying beside one's partner in bed. Sotis,one of the partners just moved their hand over to the other one just to check if they were still there.
With these pings, the two engineers just sent a short signal that said that everything was fine and that there were no abnormalities.
Over the next three hours, Nick dealt with all of his machines, answering several pings.
Eventually, the two of them t near the exit and walked over to the ship.
Nick stepped in first and looked at the insides of the ship.
There were a bunch of holes, horns, and antennae everywhere.
A normal human couldn't make sense of this ss.
Nick put three of his tentacles into different holes while grabbing so of the horns.
Then, he released a cocktail of hormones, which were absorbed by the ship.
The ship released a signal, which was picked up by the tentacles on the walls.
The tentacles wrapped around the ship and pulled back while the ship's legs retreated back into its shell.
Then, the tentacles stopped.
BANG!
And shot the ship through the portal with all of their power.
Nick's entire body was squished against the ship, and he felt a bit of pain due to the brutal acceleration.
His body was put under thousands of tis Earth's gravitational force.
The ship shot through space, and for the first ti, Nick was in an environnt filled with Star Energy.
All the Prephyx was sucked out of the ship, replaced with abundant Star Energy from the stars.
As soon as that happened, Nick could see how his abilities worked in such an environnt.
'This is worse than I've thought.'
'I can't perceive anything through the Zephyx or Prephyx since there is none. That weakens my perception significantly.'
'I can still pick up slls, sights, and sounds, and I can create a picture in my mind based on the data, but it won't be even nearly as accurate as my perception on Earth.'
'I can still sense more than this engineer, but not much more.'
Nick looked at the other engineer with his weakened perception.
Then,he tried to access the engineer's mories.
The Zephyx used for the ability left through a tiny opening on Nick's back.
And then, it turned into Star Energy.
The ability didn't work.
