Inside a pulsating round room, several beings were sitting in a circle.
If one looked at them, one wouldn't think that they all belonged to the sa race, but they did.
In the middle of the room was a shining ball of light, and in the middle of the ball was Nick's image.
In front of the shining ball was a being with tens of tentacles, which all split into many smaller tentacles.
Then, in a bigger circle around the ball and the being with tentacles, there were about ten more beings.
There were two beings who looked similar to the one operating the shining ball.
One of them was several ters tall, while the other one was just a couple of centiters tall.
To their right sat two giants.
One of them had four thin legs with chitin, leading to a thin and long torso, which was also covered in chitin. Six long and thin arms stretched out of the long body, which all ended in powerful natural weapons.
Its head was tiny compared to its body, which was over ten ters high.
Its partner was just as tall as it, but its build was very different.
The other one was covered in heavy and black tal. Its torso was wide, and it only had two arms and two legs.
Yet, its arms and legs were massive.
Beside the two of them were two floating balls of flesh. One of them was covered with different sensory organs and had three holes, while the other one was filled with a couple of tentacles and several holes.
Beside these two sat another two beings. Those two floated in the air and had bug-like bodies. The two of them had long antennae, and they had a strange symbol growing out of their head.
The last two beings were big flying eyes with six wings coming out of them.
Three pairs were asymtrical in appearance, while two were symtrical.
"No, the Sun. Not you," Nick's image spoke at that point.
As Nick spoke that, the shining ball in the middle released a pulse.
The pulse entered the minds of the beings.
In an instant, the atoms in a small part of their brains transford and turned into a complex shape.
In human terms, this would equate to a network of neurons being created in an instant.
The new network of neurons interacted with their minds, and the minds understood.
This thod of communication was more advanced than any thod of communication any human had co up with.
The pulse traveled at lightspeed and directly created neurons.
This ant it was directly transmitting a concept with a single pulse.
It was impossible for misunderstandings to occur.
There was no dium through which the original ssage could be mistranslated or misinterpreted.
Everyone knew exactly what Nick had just said.
The next mont, the big ball with tentacles put one of its tentacles into a hole of the big ball of sensory organs.
A mont later, a similar pulse ca out of the holes of the ball with tentacles and holes.
The Strategists were the first to speak up.
The two balls were the administrators and strategists of the Zephyx Mine.
The ball with sensory organs took in all the information and created countless answers and hypotheses.
The ball with holes and tentacles was the decider and communicator.
It read through all the information the first ball ca up with, deleted the unnecessary ones, and transmitted them to the others.
All of them were mbers of the Amorphous Race.
The Amorphous Race was so advanced in biology that they could transform their bodies to perfectly suit a purpose.
The first ball of the Strategists pushed its intelligence, planning, and perception to the peak.
The second ball of the Strategists pushed its intelligence, decision-making, and communication skills to the peak.
Why increase communication skills when they could just transmit concepts?
Well, this was a high level of communication, and not many of the Amorphous Race could speak it.
They could understand it, but they didn't have the ans to speak it.
The Strategists transmitted several concepts to the others.
Danger. Potential. Unknown. Change.
The concepts also involved several different ways to go forward.
The first who answered were the two bugs with the symbols.
Their legs moved exceptionally fast back and forth in a complex rhythm.
They barely moved for a second, but within that second, they had already addressed all the concepts.
They addressed the concepts one at a ti by their inherent identifiers, and then, they only gave one of the answers.
Okay, and not okay.
The two bugs were Representatives of the Mother.
The Mother was the leader of this tribe of the Amorphous.
In human terms, the Mother was the King, or Queen, while these two bugs were overseers that made sure that this Zephyx Mine followed the rules the Mother had dictated.
When a concept wasn't in line with the Mother's goals, they would give a not-okay verdict.
When the concept was aligned with the Mother's will, they would give an okay verdict.
The next mont, the Strategist, with the tentacles and holes, released another pulse.
This one only included the concepts the Representatives were okay with.
The next group that answered were the big and small Amorphous that had uncountable tentacles.
Their tentacles moved with incredible speed.
These two were the Chief Engineers.
They were the ones who decided everything related to biological machines surrounding Earth and the alien base.
The Chief Engineers gave further input to all of the concepts, which the Strategist then spread to everyone again.
More concepts had been deleted since they hadn't been feasible, according to the Chief Engineers' input.
Then, the two Representatives answered again.
So of the concepts had been changed with the input of the Chief Engineers, and they were no longer okay with them.
The Strategist spread the concepts again.
This ti, the two flying eyes answered.
They were the Chief Illusionists and Pure Energy Manipulators.
The Chief Engineers ran the biological machines, while the Chief Illusionists ran everything energy-related.
This included the concepts the Sun worked with.
They were the ones who conceptualized the Sun, while the engineers built and maintained it under their supervision.
Several seconds passed, and many more rounds of concept refinent took place.
At the very end, the two giants answered.
Only three concepts remained.
Their input wasn't important until now.
They were the two Generals.
They were warriors.
Usually, the Generals didn't need to say anything since the Strategists knew their powers and capabilities perfectly.
Their input was just in the exceptionally rare case in which a Strategist misjudged their power.
That happened, on average, once every 1,400 years.
As always, the Generals just gave three confirmations.
The Strategist sent the three concepts to everyone once more.
This ti, nobody answered.
This ant there were no objections to any of them.
Now, it was up to the Strategists to make the decision.
They had the highest authority unless the Representatives objected.
However, the Representatives could only stop orders.
They could not give them.
A second later, one concept was sent to the engineer, who was currently acting as the Sun's avatar in front of Nick.
The engineer put its tentacles to the shining ball.
And the Sun's avatar spoke.
