Ren took on a stance and gathered chakra on his arm.

He was gathering a lot, signified by how intense the light exuded from his right arm. His eyes were closed in concentration with his brows furrowed due to the difficulty.

Then, his eyes snapped wide open. He swung his arm abruptly and sent a shark’s fin slicing through the ground. It travelled for about ten ters at an astonishing speed before dissipating to nothingness.

When he was done with that, Ren suddenly felt weak. His face paled a bit, his right arm felt numb, and his immature chakra network was throbbing a bit painfully for the exertion.

He then felt the Green Lotus Core Chakra working its magic. Its soothing warmth was massaging the exertion and numbness out of his body and mind. Its effect was boosted by the Green Lotus Core Martial Physique, too.

What Ren did just now was called a ’Wing Guillotine’; it’s a Sky Archon art that shoots out an arcing projectile with a flap of their wings. It was supposed to be a pair, but Ren doesn’t have wings.

Furthermore, he used chakra instead, turning it to martial arts.

The wing guillotine was one of the basic skills that young sky archons learn. Matured ones could even send out hundreds of crescent projectiles in a single flap of their wings. They could control where it goes, how fast or how strong each one was, and so on.

Ren’s act of using his arm in place of a wing was basically one of the very few ways he could replicate it.

For his first attempt, it honestly wasn’t that bad. Especially considering that he wasn’t a Sky Archon.

But Ren wasn’t too happy. His body did not like that. It was not new to him using that much chakra at once and producing such terrible results at that.

Don’t get him wrong, that little shark’s fin he shot out was, indeed, sharp, but for how much chakra he put into that only for that lackluster result? It’s not ideal at all.

However, it’s not all too bad. Ren knew the reason why, and it’s because he hasn’t yet reached the sa standard of discipline and body control a young Sky Archon would have by the ti they learn the skill.

Sky Archon arts are more refined than martial arts, and it would make sense since Sky Archons have existed way longer than the human race. They have a deeper history, greater talent and fortune, and achieved far greater things than humans ever had.

That much could be glead from the combat manuals and discipline they left behind.

Their way of controlling and exerting strength was more refined than most martial arts would have. Sky archons are deeply in tune with their physique.

Although they don’t have the so-called Martial Physique, their inborn physical talent was much higher than humans could ever dream of, and they excavated their potential deeply.

All of those insights were available to Ren right now. And he’s learning a great deal of information.

He’s having so trouble translating the disciplines into sothing that humans could use. His wall was their wings.

Sky Archons having wings made their biology different from the human body. Moreover, most of their disciplines deeply involve their wings, making it more difficult.

But Ren wasn’t one to give up. He feels alive when he’s doing this. His unparalleled comprehension sheet was helping him greatly.

Yes, it does work, Sky Archon Arts. That’s the main reason why Ren was convinced that there’s so much potential here.

His cheat doesn’t react to anything that’s not martial arts. If Sky Archon Arts were impossible for humans to use, it wouldn’t have reacted at all, but it did.

That’s why Ren was working hard here. He doesn’t want to miss this chance.

He thought that if he could successfully filter out the ones he couldn’t use and that are inapplicable to a human body, he’d be left with a very advanced and concentrated inheritance from a fallen race that once soared beyond the skies.

Any researchers would drool over this opportunity.

Even in its incomplete state, Ren was already profiting imnsely. Just by applying the incomplete disciplines in his training recently, he could feel his control over his body increasing greatly. And it’s also improving the way he could mobilize and exert raw power and chakra-enhanced strikes even better than before.

It doesn’t do much to accelerate his realm progression, but it’s definitely making him stronger.

Ren still has a long way to go, though. He had no idea if he could complete this within a year or two, but nobody can stop him from trying anyway.

**

Once he recovered enough, Ren drank so water and relaxed for a bit.

He’s not planning on making another attempt or continuing his studies because soon, another ’night’ will co.

And just as he expected, the ’night’ indeed ca.

He was pulled out of his do and placed gently on the ground. Once he could move again, the fog surrounded him to make him feel claustrophobic, and he also heard the unmistakable sounds of zombies closing in.

What a pity for the fog, though; its attempts at scaring him didn’t work.

You see, the thing is, Ren’s sensory network does have a ti limit, but it could also be refreshed so long as he’s within it and he’s supplying it with chakra.

From the first night all the way to now, Ren has rendered the fog useless.

He was only limited during the start of the first night. Afterwards, he no longer was.

The sensory network Ren has left has covered every square inch of this place, which basically ans that he could see the whole map. He could even see what’s above him.

It won’t fade so long as Ren is in here and is supplying it with chakra, and it’s not that demanding either.

So to Ren, the fog might as well not exist. He could blindfold himself out here and he would still know where he was, where the enemies were, and where he needed to go.

He’d never need to guess where he’s going. He knows and he could plan out his route each night.

Because of this, Ren already knew where the Sky Archon pieces were. He also knew just how many zombies appeared once he got out of here.

Since Ren had been ’clearing’ each night successfully, the initial difficulty of the place had been steadily increasing as well.

He was already surrounded by hundreds of zombies, with a few variants here and there, and not even a minute passed in this night.

That’s just how it would be moving forward. The difficulty of this trial was dynamic. It’s based on the performance of the trialist, making it a more comprehensive and unique experience.

Anyways, this much wasn’t a threat to Ren. His chakra had been flowing rather nicely already, and he was already moving towards the closest Sky Archon piece to him, blowing up zombies who got in his way.

Because of recent improvents in both strength and mobility, Ren was an untouchable existence here. He was tearing through swathes of zombies in a single punch, which was an incredible sight.

Ren’s body had also adjusted slightly due to his constant exposure to the undead. He’s developed so resistance against gangrene and necrosis. It’s a lot harder for the undead to infect him compared to how it was during the first two weeks.

He was basically fighting on autopilot.

Ren ducked to dodge an attempt to entangle him by one of the zombie variants whose limbs could stretch out. He followed that up with a roll to dodge a zombie that leapt from the sky to ravage him.

He got up and imdiately did a spinning kick with enough force to not only blow up the one who just ambushed him from above but also blow up at least fifteen ordinary zombies behind it.

Ren then turned around, pumped chakra into his right fist, and punched with all his might, which cleared the area around him. His punch impacted the sound barrier, causing shockwaves to spread everywhere. It also sent a compact horizontal whirlwind at the direction of the stretchy limb zombie.

He used the Nine Echoing Cannons in that punch, aning that the punch echoed nine tis at the sa level of strength towards that sa direction, undoubtedly annihilating the stretchy-limbed zombie and at least 50 others around it.

Ren didn’t stay behind after throwing that punch. He was already moving towards the location of the next Sky Archon piece.

Using his sensor network, he also discovered that the other three he hadn’t gotten yet had been snatched by nearby zombies, who got powered up by the pieces.

He kept tabs on their location and wasn’t in a hurry. It hasn’t even been five minutes since this night began, yet he already collected thousands of points.

But Ren has grown used to this. In fact, this wasn’t enough. He wanted to buy more of the Sky Archon Arts. If he could buy a copy of everything by the ti he’s done here, that would be aweso.

Now, he’s just waiting for the Undead Sky Archons to start appearing.
