Daren’s POV

Ivan and I sat on the lawn chairs enjoying the mochi he brought and the cup of tea the maid brought for us. He said that he bought the mochi at a shop that had just opened and that it tasted really good.

I took one mochi with my favorite flavor, chocolate flavor, and took a bite. It was true that it tasted very good and I liked it imdiately.

"It tastes really good, next ti let’s go to the shop together so I can try the other flavors," I asked happily and ate the mochi in my hand.

Ivan smiled back at and said that we could go together soday, if there was a chance. I didn’t understand what he ant, but maybe he thought he was very busy working and I had another filming schedule.

"I told you I’m sure you’ll like it. I know everything about you, and everything you like. We’ve known each other for so long," Ivan told .

What he said was true, we knew each other since we were in high school. And that was almost 8 to 9 years ago. Apparently ti passes very quickly, I’ve known Ivan for that long. And he’s always been my best friend.

"You’re right, and I’m very happy to know you, Ivan. You always protected from bullies when we were in school. Without you I think my high school years would have been very bad," I told him.

"They are indeed annoying. Just because you’re an Oga doesn’t an they can do as they please."

I nodded my head and went back to enjoying my mochi. It felt so good to be able to enjoy this mochi together with Ivan and Axel behind . Even though my relationship with Axel is not good right now.

Ivan then looked at Axel and invited him to sit together while enjoying the mochi box on the table.

"I’m not interested in sweets like that at all. So I refused," he replied in a tone that was still so cold.

I knew every ti he spoke to Ivan, Axel would act like that. But he shouldn’t have behaved like that to either.

I still felt confused as to what the Alpha really thought of . Everything was fine until the incident 2 days ago, which made him suddenly turn into this.

We had been through a lot together, but why did his attitude suddenly change like that?

Thinking about that, I suddenly lost my appetite. I put the unfinished mochi on the plate, and Ivan seed to realize my attitude.

"What’s wrong Daren? Why don’t you finish the mochi you’re eating? Does it taste bad?"

I shook my head, saying it wasn’t the mochi that was bad.

"I just suddenly thought of sothing, it’s nothing important. I’ll continue eating my mochi later," I replied and drank the tea in the cup.

Ivan looked worried but I tried to calm him down saying that I just felt a little dizzy. I replied that everything would be fine soon. He nodded and drank his tea.

While the two of us were chatting with each other, for so reason I felt Ivan’s brown eyes kept glancing at Axel who was standing behind .

I didn’t understand what he wanted to say to Axel, but from how he glanced at the man he seed to be giving a code through his eyes. What did he really want to say to my bodyguard?

"How are you feeling these days Daren? Everything is fine right?" Ivan asked .

"Yes, everything is fine. There were only a few problems that occurred, but everything has been resolved well," I replied while nodding my head.

Even though there were a lot of things that happened that made feel like it had been a really bad day lately. And I hoped things wouldn’t get any worse the next day.

While we were chatting, one of the maids suddenly brought in a large flower bucket with a gift box.

"Young Master, there’s a present for you."

"A gift? Who gave it to ?" I asked the maid who brought the gift.

When she handed the flowers and box, I saw a business card with Zach as the sender.

Hello Daren,

I sent you a gift and I hope you’ll like it. I know you already rejected but it won’t hurt if I give this to you.

Call when you get it, and maybe we can try it one more ti.

What does trying it one more ti an? It ans to go on a date together?

I didn’t know how to react, but getting those flowers and gifts made feel a little better.

"Oh do you have a secret fan?" asked Ivan.

"No, it’s from one of the actors I play with in Under One Roof. He always says he likes but I can’t like him as more than a friend," I replied.

"Why not? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could feel love before your death cos?" he asked again.

Why did Ivan suddenly ntion the word death? Isn’t it still too soon to say at a ti like this?

Seeming to realize my confusion, Ivan finally spoke again. "Human life is very short, if we can get soone who loves us why can’t we try to love him too?"

"Oh I see what you an. Maybe what you’re saying is true, the only thing we can possibly get is to love soone who loves us. But how can I love him if I already love soone else at that ti?"

"You’re in love with soone? Who is he?"

I was silent for a mont because I couldn’t answer his question, especially since the person I loved was behind my back. It was just that our relationship was going through a difficult ti like this.

I just smiled and said that I couldn’t tell him. Ivan beca very curious but I teased him by asking about soone Ivan might love.

We chatted until late afternoon, when Ivan left the mansion and I went back to my room.

"The flowers are very beautiful and fragrant. Should I put it in a pot with water? But it would need a pretty big pot," I muttered.

"So you chose to keep the flower? It’s ugly and doesn’t even suit you," Axel said suddenly as he walked into my room and saw putting the flower on the table.

I turned to him to see his face so serious looking at , as if he didn’t like that I kept the flower. I didn’t want to do it, but I did it on purpose to see his reaction.

"It’s none of your business, didn’t you say that you don’t love ? That ans you’re just a bodyguard so you better shut up," I replied and turned my back on him.

I don’t know what happened after that, but I could hear him growling and Axel just left my room. That left speechless and looking at my bedroom door.

"Was it hard for you to say?"

In the middle of the night when I was asleep, my cell phone suddenly rang and I woke up to see a ssage on my phone.

It turned out to be a ssage from Axel saying that he was going to explain everything, and asking to et him in the backyard of the mansion and I imdiately rushed there.

When I went out through the back door, I just didn’t see anyone there even the park bench was empty.

"Axel, where are you?" I called out as I wandered around the backyard.

But I still didn’t find him anywhere, until suddenly I felt a hard blow to the back of my head.

THUD!

And everything went dark.
