They faced Sigmund who was to share his findings so far. He had bigger eyebags and was a bit paler than before, showing how much he worked for this.
Khalifa looked at the handso man with warm eyes.
He really worked hard for this. She had been monitoring him and getting the servants to send him his als, so she knew that he had holed himself in his lab, especially after Hugo and his team set up his special equipnt there.
Sigmund felt her stare and t her eyes. There was nothing that changed in his expression, but she felt the atmosphere around him soften even by just a little.
He wasn’t distracted for long, however, imdiately jumping to the topic at hand. "As agreed, I will report on my progress every week," he began, looking at her.
"I studied your blood, everyone’s samples, as well as so infected blood from others I received."
The blood of infected individuals was received from Kylo and Hugo as per requested. He requested the collection to be from various stages of the individual’s life (and death) and then provided so kits to ensure the samples would stay pristine and fresh for as long as possible.
He also got various samples from normal people and Supernaturalists, all with varying cases of infection.
As a scientist, he was very fascinated with how different the genetic makeup of various samples were—even those coming from the sa person.
This caused him to forget the ti—as he usually died—and stayed in the laboratory for days on end.
Since he was a child, he always had an unhealthy obsession with what interested him, in what he didn’t understand—aiming to do whatever until he could.
At this, he couldn’t help but look at the woman’s azure eyes.
For the first ti, he had never missed a al even at the height of his discovery. In the past, he would’ve scoffed at the gesture, but he found he didn’t mind it much this ti.
At first, he thought he understood her type, but the more he knew her, the more mysterious she was—and the more those eyes seed deeper, as if trying to drown him whole.
"I concluded that your blood could significantly slow down the virus," he said, nothing in his face or tone betraying his thoughts. "It could even prevent the spread of the virus if the person has high immunity against it—that is to say: if the victim is a Supernaturalist.
His findings made all the n even more guarded against him than they have been. "So what do you plan on doing with your findings?" Cauis asked, tone a little sharp.
Kaize was similarly glaring at him. He never liked this bastard! "Be careful how you answer, or else you could get… burned."
Khalifa sighed as she looked at them like this. She looked at Sigmund, whose expression was still as impassive as ever despite all the threats. "Do you know what could be causing this?
"For now, I’m trying to isolate everything that could be causing this," Sigmund said. "What I have gotten so far is that your blood has a unique protein structure that interferes with the virus’ ability to replicate, which is why it could slow it down."
If he could completely isolate and study its structure, this ant he was a step into discovering the cure for the virus.
"It couldn’t heal it yet, however. It had limited effects for people already infected by the virus before receiving your… fluids."
This was how she helped Jacob back then, who had slept with her only a few days before the apocalypse. Sid hadn’t touched her for a long ti and thus the effect had been discounted.
A pang of sadness hit her and imdiately a hand wrapped around hers. She turned to look at Cauis, who was gently rubbing her hands with his palm. Her heart softened and she smiled at him.
Calming down, she turned to Sigmund with a serious expression on her face. "How far are we from a cure?"
Sigmund’s face didn’t change, but the way his shoulders slumped a few milliters betrayed his mood. "Not even halfway."
Khalifa looked at him with a smile. "It’s okay, your findings are very good."
Instead of being happy, the n were worried instead. Cauis held her leg as if shielding while Kaize held her shoulder.
What could this an for Khalifa? Would she always have to give blood? They really didn’t care about the rest of the world if their woman was going to suffer for it!
Should they throw this guy to the sharks right now?
Sigmund naturally saw the movent and sighed, "Don’t worry, I like it here. I wouldn’t share the findings until I find a way to replicate it without her."
The n’s stances softened (a little) and Sigmund acted as if he didn’t just feel a few threats to his life.
He looked at Jacob, "Have you ever consud Khalifa’s blood?"
This made the n look at the youngest and Jacob shook his head. "Why?"
"Your blood has been exhibiting so properties similar in behavior as Khalifa’s."
"Jacob is human, though the zombie virus changed a few of his genos," Khalifa explained to the others who weren’t as updated as she was in this.
Sigmund looked at her and nodded. "Further, Jacob’s condition had been improving, with the zombie variation stabilizing as ti passed. I have so observations regarding this. In particular, when he improves the most."
Unlike with Khalifa, he would take so samples from Jacob every day, and he had managed to closely record the changes.
Khalifa and the others knew this, and they waited patiently for what he was about to say next.
His red eyes fixed on Khalifa, uttering the next words with a straight face. "The recovery Is fastest when he beds you."
"..."
They looked at each other and then to the scientist with a blank expression on his face.
"I need your orgasm."
