893: Chapter 893: The Train Will Soon Pass Through the Exotic Dense Zone

He showed restraint, only after using a Muffler Artefact did he say, “How did you do it!

To actually rank above four thousand!”

Xu Huo noticed that the bandaged man’s movents paused slightly, he looked at the man opposite with an impassive face, “Maybe you saw it wrong.”

“Lord of the Gods” covered his mouth with his hand and spoke in a lowered voice, “You can rest assured, I understand.

Talents easily arouse jealousy, so we have to be even more careful before we grow.”

“You must have been in Level D for quite so ti,” he added.

“To rank this high, I guess your instance ratings are either B or A.

I am a bit inferior, it took

two years to level up.”

His eyes danced with excitent, as if hinting for Xu Huo to say how long it took him, but Xu Huo didn’t bite and instead asked, “What’s your na?”

“I almost forgot,” the other person reached out his hand, “Let’s get to know each other again, my na is Shangguan Xi, born at Chaoyang, starting in brightness!”

Xu Huo had already given a false na earlier and, after shaking hands, he focused on the food in front of him.

“I know that many higher-ranking players are not young, and there are very few of us who are as young as we are.

In the future, there’s definitely a place for us in the top thousand of the list.” Shangguan Xi said animatedly while eating, and then casually asked, “Brother Xu, how old are you this year?”

“Forty.” Xu Huo replied without batting an eye.

Shangguan Xi was surprised, but with a tinge of smug satisfaction, “You don’t look it.”

“Baby face,” said Xu Huo.

“Haha, we players live long lives, there’s not a big difference between twenty and forty!” Shangguan Xi said cheerfully.

“You’re different, you are a true genius,” Xu Huo said politely.

“Not at all, not at all,” Shangguan Xi quickly waved his hand, “You are the impressive senior.”

After exchanging a few mutually flattering remarks, Shangguan Xi offered to treat him and proactively paid Xu Huo’s bill.

After dinner and returning to the carriage, Shangguan Xi added, “Brother Xu, be careful of that One-Eyed, he’s not a good person…”

The bathroom door of the transitional carriage suddenly opened, and their ntioned One-Eyed Player ca out from inside, casting a sinister look at Shangguan Xi.

Shangguan Xi, who had just witnessed his fight with a female player, frowned slightly, but at that mont Xu Huo spoke up, “Two against one, your odds aren’t great.”

One-Eyed stared at them and, with a cold laugh, turned and walked away.

Shangguan Xi breathed a sigh of relief, “Really unlucky to be targeted by him.”

“He’s injured, he won’t act rashly,” said Xu Huo.

“Besides, with the two of us, we won’t be at a disadvantage even if we can’t kill him.”

Shangguan Xi gave him a grateful look and said boldly, “Brother Xu, I’ll cover all your al expenses for the next few days!”

“Thanks.”

“And I’ll take care of the accommodation fee too!”

“That’s not necessary.”

“Don’t be polite, don’t be polite, or we might as well share a room, can look out for each other!”

Xu Huo looked at him with a smile.

Shangguan Xi cleared his throat, “I’m certainly not scared, but while there can be a thief every day, you can’t guard against one forever.

We’re about to enter the instance, and we should conserve energy for everyone’s sake.”

His reasoning sounded solid, but Xu Huo still rejected his suggestion.

Until lights-out ti, everything on the train was calm.

The few people in carriage sixteen had all entered single rooms, with Xu Huo and Shangguan Xi next to each other, opposite the player who hadn’t shown their face since boarding.

The player with the dog and the short-haired female player were positioned to the right of the back door, with One-Eyed on the left.

Before midnight, the train suddenly made an announcent:

“Dear passengers, the train is about to pass through the Exotic Dense Zone at an unspecified ti.

Please be aware not to emit strong light or loud noises, so as to avoid attracting the attention of the Aliens.”

Just two minutes after the announcent finished, the train began to shake slightly, and a dense rain-like throng of Aliens started to pounce onto the train continuously, quickly filling up all the walls of the carriages.

Unlike the sowhat sluggish Aliens on the initial assessnt train, the ones clinging outside now kept sniffing and cocking their ears, tapping and knocking on the walls as if searching for gaps.

The people inside the carriage instinctively quieted their breathing and movents—a Muffler Artefact often cos with a ti limit, and the duration of an Alien attack on the train is uncertain, so Props are more suitable for unforeseen ergencies.

And soon, an incident occurred!

It was unclear whether it was due to player conflict, but a bright light suddenly flashed at the rear of the train—the Aliens surged up and along the train like a thunderstorm, followed by loud banging noises.

The two sounds intertwined, making it difficult to detect the movent of the Aliens, but after two or three seconds, a sharp noise like nails scratching a hard surface was heard—within a re ten seconds, a carriage had been breached!

The players knew the rules and fought quietly.

However, against these Aliens, which were both nurous and more ferocious, the best course of action was to quickly hide in other carriages, because once surrounded, it would be difficult to break free.

The disruption occurred in the twentieth carriage, and from Xu Huo’s distance, he could grasp the situation inside.

Only four players were able to run into the twenty-second carriage before the Aliens entered.

Unprotected walls and players tripping each other led to the subsequent fall of the twenty-first carriage, trapping six more players.

Ordinary Defense Props were completely useless against this torrential onslaught, and even Prop houses like small structures were washed off the train, with the player hiding inside naturally falling outside the tracks.

It took only half a minute before the first player died.

One minute later, two more were dead.

The remaining three players struggled to move to the back door of carriage nineteen but were blocked by the players inside.

Both sides used their Props to hold their ground for about five minutes, ending with the players outside managing to open the door just before they were fatally injured.

Thus, carriage nineteen was also filled with Aliens.

The players in carriage nineteen used Props to block the first wave of players that ca in, retreating to the preceding transition carriage and then sealing the door with Props, finally halting the onslaught of the Aliens.

The dead players were long gone, and the Aliens that had cleansed carriages nineteen, twenty, and twenty-one didn’t imdiately leave.

They lay on the front and back doors, continuously butting their heads against the carriage walls, as if waiting for sothing.

Why weren’t the Aliens leaving?

This was probably the question in the mind of every player on the train at that ti.

Without any external stimulus, these Aliens still probed around the train, appearing a bit more intelligent than those on the initial assessnt train.

“Squeak, squeak, squeak—!” That scratching sound rang out again, not from any one carriage this ti, but almost from outside all carriages.

The Aliens seed to be relaying so sort of ssage to one another.

This stirred the players waiting in bated breath within the carriages.

Just as they were about to take action, a not-so-distinct explosion sound ca from the rear of the train, yet it was sufficient in attracting the Aliens.

In an instant, all the Aliens poured down toward the tracks as if water had been thrown.

The booming sound receded, and the train returned to calm.

Ten minutes later:

“Ding-dong!

Dear passengers, the train has now safely crossed the Exotic Dense Zone.

Due to severe damage to carriages nineteen, twenty, and twenty-one, please proceed with caution.”
