703: Chapter 703: Looking for
for Sothing?
The few people present all laughed, but Wan Tingfang didn’t mind as she seriously shared her troubles, “Don’t you ever have this worry?
When it cos down to the wire, not knowing which item to use, or having such slow hands that before I can even take out an item, soone is already charging at .”
“That’s why evolution and upgrading are both indispensable, speed and strength are prerequisites for using items and abilities.” Shi Youzhi glanced at Xu Huo, “I see that your evolution rate hasn’t changed much, have you hit a bottleneck?”
Evolution Potions don’t just cause a sharp increase in evolution rate upon consumption.
As the evolution rate increases and the dosage used becos larger, the ti needed to assimilate the potion lengthens, and the effect of the potion also diminishes.
At this point, no amount of potion would be useful.
“That’s true,” said Xu Huo, “digesting the Evolution Potion is a bit slow, and it’s fine to space out the intervals between doses a bit longer.”
Shi Youzhi nodded, “That’s right.”
Wan Tingfang smacked her forehead, “I hadn’t thought about drug resistance at all.
I even assud that the higher the evolution rate, the more potion is needed and the effect of each dose gradually decreased!”
“It’s not that serious,” said Cai Xiangxiang, “as long as there aren’t any issues with the body.”
Wan Tingfang looked at her in horror, “Are you saying that taking too much potion could lead to side effects?”
Cai Xiangxiang said helplessly, “If you drink too much water, your body will have problems too.
Using potion like water is definitely not safe.”
Wan Tingfang laughed, “I’d also like to drink potion like water, but alas, I’m too poor.”
“But speaking of which, if the train can’t transport large weaponry, how do trade exchanges happen between zones?” She paused, then added, “I an, things like smuggling arms and such.”
People from the Orbital Supply Departnt did not shy away from such topics.
From outside, soone from Ai Jia ca in and said, “Crossing space is not just a prerogative of the ga, many high-evolution districts can also do it, it’s just not as convenient and safe as the dinsional train.”
“For players to achieve spatial jumps, the best way is to use Spatial Artifacts, but these items are expensive, scarce, and mostly single-use, and that’s just for individual players.”
“So, for large-scale spatial crossings, both technology and financial support are indispensable.”
“Only the districts with advanced wormhole points can achieve that,” Wan Tingfang said with emotion, “I hope one day I can afford a Spatial Artifact.
Not to ntion anything else, just the idea of being able to escape to another space is very tempting.”
“Brother Xu, don’t you agree?
Brother Xu?”
Xu Huo had an expressionless face, “There are not a few high-level players in the ga, and where there’s demand, there will be supply.
If spending a bit of money could give soone an extra life, I believe many players would go out of their way to get it.
There must be reasons other than the high price if they are not widely available.”
Players from outside districts enter reality of Zone 014 through these kinds of Spatial Artifacts.
Judging by the quantity, these artifacts are not extrely scarce.
“Restrictions on such Spatial Artifacts are quite nurous,” said Cai Xiangxiang.
“Usage ti, range of effect, and the number of people they can transport are all very strict; they’re definitely not the sort that lets players go to whichever space they wish.”
As she spoke, she chuckled lightly, “Still not as good as tickets.”
She Ping pushed another cart of ore from outside, “Less talk, the sooner we finish, the sooner we can knock off.”
The group beca busy once again, and by the ti they finished, Tiandu was approaching dark, but the streets were bright with lights.
Shi Youzhi invited his squad mbers to dinner, and everyone went to the bustling market together.
“Eat up,” Shi Youzhi said, “Consider this a reward for everyone’s hard work.
What drinks would you like?”
Zone 011 offers two kinds of alcohol, one is brewed using traditional thods like grain liquor, and the other is processed with potions, leaving no hangover or discomfort, making it a popular option for pleasurable spirits, especially among ladies.
Cai Xiangxiang and Wan Tingfang both chose the second type, while She Ping and his companions went for the forr, seemingly because Shi Youzhi didn’t quite favor alcohol processed with potions.
“Didn’t the squad leader co from other Wormhole Points?” Wan Tingfang asked with confusion, “Beverages like these should have beco widespread much earlier, right?
I’ve seen that so sectors don’t even offer grain alcohol anymore.”
“Good stuff is liked everywhere,” Shi Youzhi comnted after taking a sip, “In my hotown, this is still considered a luxury item.”
“What’s your hotown like, squad leader?” Wan Tingfang inquired curiously, “Like Zone 011?”
“You’ll find out in ti, let’s eat,” Shi Youzhi brushed off the question with a hearty laugh.
The remainder of their ti passed pleasantly.
They didn’t discuss much else, with Wan Tingfang briefing Xu Huo on the mission details he had missed, and the other mbers occasionally chiming in to give him insights into handling various sudden incidents on the orbital tracks.
However, squads like Shi Youzhi’s mainly focused on routine maintenance and sotis cleanup duties.
In case of major incidents, other departnts would intervene.
All things considered, working for the Orbital Supply Departnt wasn’t particularly hazardous.
After the al, when they split up, Wan Tingfang hopped onto Xu Huo’s ride, half-drunk and half-sober, and said, “I bet there’s sothing fishy with these potions, otherwise our squad leader and the others wouldn’t avoid the processed alcohol.”
Xu Huo glanced at her and said, “Potions themselves might not be safe, including the Evolution Potion.”
Wan Tingfang was taken aback for a mont, “Isn’t the Evolution Potion supposed to help players evolve faster?”
“You might want to try stopping the Evolution Potion,” Xu Huo suggested, “You could experience a prolonged period due to increased evolution rates, but if players stop taking the Evolution Potion for so ti, they might start showing signs of physical decay.”
This was easy to notice at the beginning of a player’s evolution, but once they passed the initial screening, most players managed to acquire so potions.
Those who couldn’t wouldn’t survive many instances, and those who did survive would not likely run out of potions later on.
To enhance their abilities, they would only increase the dosage and frequency with which they used the potions, becoming insensitive to any side effects of the Evolution Potion.
As long as they continued taking the Evolution Potion in a regular dose, there wouldn’t be much of a problem, though.
“Anyway, it’s not like we’re short on Evolution Potions,” Wan Tingfang said, scratching her head, “Perhaps this situation will improve in the future.”
“Get so rest early,” Xu Huo didn’t say much more, aware that the aftereffects of evolution could not be completely eradicated by potions, a fact that beco clear from the cases of V Fan Xiao and Lawrence Lee.
After parting ways, Xu Huo headed straight back to the castle, only to find that he had a guest waiting for him despite the late hour.
“Dr.
Deng,” he greeted with a smile.
Dr.
Deng was a dical expert Xu Huo had brought back from the Deep Blue Laboratory, a fanatic admirer of Dr.
Wu who had developed the Perfect Evolution Potion and was adept at disguise.
He would pretend to “unintentionally” leak information, luring players into taking him hostage to gain direct access to Dr.
Wu’s data.
The reason he followed Xu Huo was to seek new targets.
On their way to Zone 011, he had even “hinted” at Lawrence Lee, who unfortunately didn’t respond to his “flirtation.”
Upon arriving at Zone 011, Dr.
Deng quickly found employnt with Rong Xin, showcasing the fact that talent can find good job prospects anywhere.
“Did you need sothing?”
