403: Chapter 403: Conflict in Front of the Enforcent Departnt

“If I tell you to wait, just wait.

Where’s all this nonsense coming from!” Bai Jianzhang barked with a darkened face.

There were quite a few people coming and going in the Enforcent Departnt; most of them ignored Xu Huo and his companion, although one or two whispered to Bai Jianzhang as they passed, their expressions ambiguous.

The two were left hanging there.

After twenty minutes, no one ca out to take over the equipnt.

Xu Huo finished smoking a cigarette and signaled Wan Tingfang to get in the car.

Though Wan Tingfang was puzzled, she complied, and after they got in, Xu Huo started the car and drove off.

“What are you doing!” The Bai Jianzhang guarding them shouted angrily and imdiately notified the Enforcent Departnt’s players to block the car.

This was the Enforcent Departnt headquarters, surrounded by players and checkpoints.

Naturally, Xu Huo couldn’t just break through in the car, so he hovered the vehicle mid-air and pressed the communication button, “I just checked and found I took the wrong car; this isn’t the gear Logistics was asking for.”

“You’ve already delivered it, and now you say it’s not it?

Park the car, or we’ll have to take action!” The Bai Jianzhang also rose into the air, though he used a prop.

Xu Huo was not the least bit flustered, “What, you’re going to openly rob us now?”

Bai Jianzhang choked on his words, unable to directly open the car door to check; he could only repeat, “Park the car, get out!”

It was clear the Enforcent Departnt had no intention of letting them go.

Wan Tingfang asked in a heavy voice, “What now?

Fight our way out?”

“No need.” Xu Huo rolled down the window and contacted Director San Yang in front of Bai Jianzhang and the others, “Director, the Enforcent Departnt wants to confiscate our equipnt.”

Director San Yang fell silent for two seconds before responding, “If the Enforcent Departnt wants to openly seize it, you leave the equipnt behind.

Without the unique key, they can’t use that batch of gear.

Just make sure you get back, I’ll handle everything else.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he cut the communication.

Xu Huo didn’t say another word as he parked, turned off the engine, closed the car door, and was ready to leave.

The Bai Jianzhang who had been guarding them and the players who had co to stop them were sowhat frustrated, allowing Xu Huo and his companion to leave the equipnt behind.

Not to ntion that the equipnt was unusable, they’d have to squabble with the base, which could potentially lead to bigger trouble.

But they couldn’t just forcefully detain people; these two were tough nuts to crack.

At that mont, a blond man ca out of the Enforcent Departnt building.

He too was wearing a white uniform, but his epaulettes bore a Golden Badge.

“Captain!” The Bai Jianzhangs saluted him imdiately.

The blond man walked over and slapped the Bai Jianzhang who had initially blocked Xu Huo and the others.

Without listening to any explanations or bothering to understand what had happened, he directly said to Xu Huo, “Leave the equipnt, you can go.”

Wan Tingfang involuntarily took a half step back at the sight of the blond man.

But the next second, seeing the man beside her unmoved, she imdiately stepped back into place.

Xu Huo nodded and was about to walk away when the blond man spoke up again, “The key.”

The other two Bai Jianzhangs reached out to stop him.

Xu Huo turned around, “Director didn’t give

the key; he probably anticipated troubles from the Enforcent Departnt and didn’t trust us newcors to handle the situation.”

Wan Tingfang couldn’t help but glance at him.

Then she added, “We’ve already reported the matter to the director.

You can communicate directly with him.”

The blond man’s face darkened slightly, “I see the base is full of crouching tigers and hidden dragons.”

“We wouldn’t dare.

What’s the point in making things difficult for us two errand runners?

The equipnt isn’t ours, the key isn’t in our hands, the director is waiting for us to debrief.

Wouldn’t wrapping things up sooner be better for everyone?” Xu Huo pulled out his lighter and lit another cigarette, “Look, why make trouble for nothing?”

No one ntioned the slap, but at this mont, the Bai Jianzhang who had been hit regarded the blond man with a fearful look.

He couldn’t stop himself from growling at Xu Huo, “Hand over the key now, or you can forget about the final paynt!”

“There’s no key,” Xu Huo didn’t budge, the key would certainly not be given, and what did the final paynt have to do with him?

“Looking for a fight?” he noticed the Bai Jianzhang’s fist relax, as if he was holding sothing, and imdiately said, “I didn’t expect you really planned to rob us outright, gutsy move.”

After he finished speaking, he even gave a thumbs up.

Wan Tingfang coughed lightly, “We should head back now.”

The Bai Jianzhang captain was greatly irritated but didn’t back down.

Was he not afraid of not being able to leave the Enforcent Departnt today?

The blond man’s expression turned chilly, waving his hand to signal the two Bai Jianzhangs to step back, yet his icy gaze pierced Xu Huo the whole ti.

Just then, Ran Ying ca back to the Enforcent Departnt with her team, clad in a black uniform.

Ran Ying appeared quite heroic, tossing her cap to Cheng Bing beside her.

She approached Xu Huo with a bear hug, “Are you here for ?

Sorry about that, I’ve been so busy these past few days, I didn’t have ti to show you around.

How about you wait a couple more days, and I’ll set aside so ti to give you a proper tour.”

Xu Huo didn’t have ti to be polite when the blond man chuckled coldly from behind, “I thought two newbies from the base were so arrogant, turns out they’re on Captain Ran’s payroll.

Perfect.

You handle this.”

“What happened?” Ran Ying inquired.

A Bai Jianzhang briefly explained the situation, emphasizing that Xu Huo was being difficult and not handing over the key.

After listening, Ran Ying waved it off, “Xu Huo has only been in Zone 011 for a few days, the base must be worried he’d run off with the equipnt, that’s why they didn’t give him the key.

This is sothing Captain Bran can sort out with the base, it’s not a big deal, especially since the final paynt hasn’t been made yet.”

The blond man, Bran, replied, “Captain Ran, is it up to you to decide this?”

Ran Ying’s temper flared as she t his gaze, “The Logistics Departnt was supposed to take charge of the equipnt; what does it have to do with you Bai Jianzhangs?

Pretending to be elephants with garlic up your nostrils, is it your place to detain people and confiscate things?

Don’t bla others for not giving you face if you have none!”

The Bai Jianzhang being implicated shivered slightly.

Ran Ying wasn’t finished, “And you, playing the captain, what are you?

Fuming with impotence because soone poked you in the eye yesterday and got away with a wanted criminal?

Picking on two low-level players of the vast Enforcent Departnt surrounded by so many Bai Jianzhangs, you’re very impressive.”

“Where are the Black Epaulettes?

Eating shit in the toilet?”

With her ringing shout, players dressed in black uniforms poured out from the Enforcent Departnt building, instantly outnumbering the Bai Jianzhangs present.

There were more Bai Jianzhangs inside the building, but before they could co out, Bran gestured for them to stop.

Bran then looked at Ran Ying, calm and collected now, “You won’t be so arrogant for much longer.”

Dropping a cryptic threat, Bran led his people away.

Ran Ying snorted and then turned back to Xu Huo with a smile, “Don’t be scared, he can’t do anything to you.

This is your first ti doing a job for the base, right?

I won’t let you be troubled, you go back with peace of mind.

The Logistics Departnt will contact Director San Yang.”

“Thanks,” Xu Huo gratefully glanced at the woman, “Let’s have dinner together when you’re free.”
