Chapter 2080: Chapter 2080: Two Days’ Ti Difference
"This story isn’t anything new," Xu Huo observed the surroundings of the street as he replied, "I have a stronger version of it."
"This person entered an unreal space, believing that everything he saw was real, imrsed himself in fine wine and food, and unconsciously ate and drank endlessly, eventually stuffing himself to death."
He glanced back at Wang Ling, "Here, fine wine and food can be replaced with destroying buildings."
Wang Ling paused her action of weighing the explosion prop and said with a laugh, "Do you think we’ll be trapped to death?"
"Whether or not we get trapped is uncertain, but even if the city is destroyed, we may not be able to get out," Xu Huo looked into the distance, "The scale of this space is probably larger than we imagined. Can it really be blown up completely?"
The fog obscured the view nicely, but it didn’t give him the feeling of a deliberate mystery to cover up a small venue.
"Let’s keep moving forward," he said, "Maybe we’ll run into other people."
"Acting alone in such a vast place is quite dull," Wang Ling did not oppose, "I hope the next person we et has so sense."
The two arrived at the Ti Tower. This Ti Tower was far less famous than the one at the C9 Wormhole Point, standing only about fifty ters high, with a significant ti discrepancy compared to the surrounding buildings, and looked very old.
Clocks were hung on all four sides of the tower, showing 9:17 at the main entrance. Looking counterclockwise, the three tis behind it were 12:03, 9:00, and 12:00.
The clocks used a 12-hour system, and the second hands on the dials were all stopped at the "12" position, with no sun and moon information above.
"Want to take a look inside?" Wang Ling asked leisurely. He didn’t really an to go inside because the Ti Tower was essentially hollow. Although there was a door, you could see inside from outside—a few tal structures that couldn’t even hide anything.
Xu Huo saw the nearby newsstand, which was empty.
"Too strange." He turned back to look behind him.
This city looked real yet fake. It paid attention to many details, such as street signs, stop signs, and information about goods sold in stores. Even the dates on packaging bags were precise, along with fresh fruits and vegetables and freshly cooked food. Just from these, it seed believable that soone was living here a second ago.
But another part of the details was oddly fake, such as books and other paper items appearing very infrequently. Even in places where they should appear, like this newsstand, normally being used, it should contain newspapers and magazines, or at the very least, have so written notices posted. Yet, like the rest of the street with no flyers visible, this place was too clean.
In the places seen so far, electronic screens were also extrely rare. There were no holographic projection devices in the control of large shopping malls. In such cases, besides the network, these things should be the main dia for information dissemination, and should not be missing.
"It is a bit strange," Wang Ling rubbed his forehead, "Can’t even find a map, yet they have the nerve to put up tourist road signs."
"I haven’t seen a police station nearby, and I don’t have any ready connection instrunts for network devices, do you?"
Xu Huo did have so, but he didn’t think they would work. However, since Wang Ling ntioned it, he tried.
He found a nearby terminal device, supplied power with the instrunt, but the terminal device had no response.
"What’s going on?" Wang Ling frowned, "They wouldn’t bring players in here just to let us starve to death, would they?"
Xu Huo’s gaze remained on the Ti Tower; the tis in other places were basically consistent, only the tis on the Ti Tower were off. These four tis must have so special aning.
"Boom!" A not-so-loud, not-so-soft muffled sound ca from not far away, and the two of them moved their gaze imdiately and headed over. Sure enough, there was another player, but when Xu Huo and the other party t, both had so undisguisable surprise in their eyes.
The player who suddenly fell on the ground was the sweet girl from the Doll instance.
"You ca out of the instance so quickly?" Xu Huo slightly frowned.
The sweet girl sneered, lifting her atrophied right arm, "What, do you think you’re the only one who can co out of an instance alive?"
"I don’t an anything else," Xu Huo explained, "I just wanted to ask, how long after I left the instance did you clear it?"
"Why should I tell you?" The sweet girl was entirely uncooperative, quickly observing the surroundings, "Didn’t expect my luck to be so bad, just out of one instance and into another."
With two against one, and her being seriously injured, one of her arms looked unusable, she should have fled imdiately under normal circumstances. However, she didn’t intend to leave as she looked around.
"You’ve figured it out." Xu Huo said, "This isn’t an ordinary random instance. It’s probably very difficult to get out alone."
The sweet girl stared at him, "Are you saying you’ll help ?"
"Not helping you, but mutual assistance." Xu Huo said.
The sweet girl hesitated for a mont before answering his previous question, "I cleared it in the second week and was the only one other than you who did."
Xu Huo ca out of the instance the first Sunday, and he had stayed outside for less than a day before entering the instance. According to the ti conversion between the Doll instance and C11-011, when the sweet girl ca out of the instance, Zone 011 would have already passed three days...
The timing was off; what went wrong?
Seeing his face suddenly beco grim, the sweet girl hesitantly said, "Is there a problem with the timing of my clearance?"
"Your ti is correct; it’s mine that’s off." Xu Huo looked at the ti-related item on his wrist. To facilitate distinguishing ho zone ti from instance zone ti, these types of items usually have multiple small dials specifically for players to adjust the ti. When he entered, one of the dials was not much off from other stopped clocks, watches, and tikeeping devices in the city, and the ti here was roughly the sa as outside in Zone 011, so he believed that the dial he adjusted for Zone 011 was correct, and did not make any changes, and assud he had just entered this deserted city space...
But if he had just entered, then where did the two-day ti difference with the sweet girl’s clearance go?
If it were only a few seconds or even a few minutes, he could have put it aside temporarily. After all, entering a completely different space, a ti difference isn’t entirely impossible. But being unaware of two entire days cannot be explained by re cross-space errors!
"Do you have extra tikeeping tools?" Xu Huo took out two spare watches from the luggage compartnt, set the ti according to the numbers on the Ti Tower, and paused them.
"I only have one," Wang Ling said, "Why prepare so many tikeeping tools?"
He was using the basic version of the automatic switching zone ti tool.
"I do," the sweet girl tossed one over.
