Chapter 2077: Chapter 2077: Only Players Will Disappear

After saying this, the sunny young man stood up once more and headed toward the kitchen, but just as he opened the door, the returning owner ca out, pushing him outside while saying, "No need to rush, serving food doesn’t happen so quickly..."

The sunny young man grabbed the door fra and glanced inside, then with a cold voice asked, "Where’s that female player?"

The owner said indifferently, "You’re talking about the girl who went in just now? She left."

The sunny young man’s face fell, "You say she left? She was here just a mont ago."

The owner looked at him oddly, "You players, when you leave, can we ever stop you?"

The sunny young man returned to the shop in anger and told the other players who were eating, "Don’t eat, this is a shady place!"

Before the owner could explain, a player said, "You just got here, don’t you know the rumors about Chicken Comb City?"

The sunny young man, like Xu Huo and the others, had indeed just arrived, and he had been randomly transported here by a prop.

The player took another bite of chicken, "There’s been a random dungeon that swallows people here for a long ti. The ti and place of its opening are not fixed; it moves around the city, swallowing players inside, but only players."

"So if that woman suddenly vanished, she might have left on her own, or she might have been transported into the dungeon."

Seeing his seriousness, the sunny young man was half-convinced, "Since you know, why do you still stay here?"

The player looked up, smiled, and said, "I’m here for this dungeon."

The sunny young man still couldn’t believe him, so he checked the information terminal for details about random dungeons.

Chicken Comb City indeed has such a random dungeon, and it’s been around for a long ti. Its difference from other random dungeons is that normal people can’t enter its entrance, and it doesn’t have fixed opening conditions. Aside from the ti and place the player ntioned, other patterns haven’t been deduced—this insight ca from local players exchanging lives for experience.

Apart from the two Chicken Comb Cities, there are about five cities nearby within the activity range of this random dungeon. As a result, these cities can’t retain players, and the local players have long fled. However, this makes these cities a decent place for ordinary people to live. Those players who left their hotowns offer so support in terms of resources, whether to take care of family or out of nostalgia, which is the fundantal reason Chicken Comb City enjoys a decent living standard.

"Is it really a dungeon?" The sunny young man remained skeptical, "If it is, shouldn’t local players notify their companions outside? Wouldn’t soone have explained what this dungeon is all about?"

As he spoke, he glanced at Xu Huo and the girl in the painting, seemingly seeking confirmation. However, in the next second, he vanished from where he stood, as if he had never been there.

"See, now you believe it, right?" The player who offered the explanation leisurely took a sip of soup.

The owner found the situation commonplace, calling towards the kitchen, "The custor who ordered vegetarian is gone, no need to cook."

"It’s already prepared, now you’re saying we don’t need it, where were you earlier!" shouted soone from the kitchen.

The owner thought for a mont, went into the kitchen, then quickly returned with the prepared vegetarian dish, "It’s on the house, feel free to enjoy."

"Why don’t you join us, owner?" Xu Huo invited.

The shop owner, a very straightforward man, agreed without much thought and brought over so wine, "This is my homade wine; I usually don’t take it out for guests, you’re in luck today."

He filled two glasses, and before Xu Huo could raise his, he downed his own glass, flushed and short of breath, then urged Xu Huo to try.

Xu Huo sipped a little, swallowing with difficulty, "It slls nice, but it goes down strong."

The owner laughed heartily and began talking about the source of his wine. About a decade ago, many mutant plants suddenly grew around Chicken Comb City, and although most weren’t toxic, they grew too quickly, which was a problem. Coincidentally, the overall environnt was poor, causing many crops to die. So, people started treating those mutant plants as food, which truly saved their lives.

Xu Huo wanted to ask about the random dungeon, so he inquired when it first started.

The owner’s exuberant deanor slightly cald. He poured himself another drink, "It was thirty-five years ago, the first day of sumr; it was my birthday, and my neighbor’s old man’s birthday too. Our families were close, and his grandson even prepared a gift for . What a good kid. When we sat down for the birthday drinks, he suddenly disappeared, the soup bowl and spoon smashed to the ground."

"Ordinary people don’t understand how players enter the ga, they only know so dungeons swallow people without warning. Everyone thought he entered the dungeon, and others told the old man not to worry."

"It was later we realized he never sent any word after leaving; he was the ninth example like this."

"Many players vanished after that, no news ever returned, likely they’re dead too."

The owner took a sip of wine, slightly squinting with a drunken haze, "It’s common for people to die in the ga, everyone gradually accepted it. People like

with little capability live just fine; it’s the players who have all gone."

"You outsiders don’t know the danger, once you’re done with the ga better move on, don’t accidentally enter the dungeon like those two just now."

"Thank you, owner." Xu Huo added, "I’ve visited so many zones but never encountered a dungeon like this."

"I hear the ga world is vast, even players haven’t been everywhere, it’s normal not to have seen everything." The owner laughed again, "Living blindly is better than dying sensibly."

Xu Huo smiled slightly, raised his glass to him.

After a few small drinks, the owner was already laying on the table, carried away by a cook at the back. Though Xu Huo wasn’t drunk, he felt a bit dizzy, so he drank an anti-intoxication potion and left the small shop with the girl in the painting.

A few steps ahead was the owner’s residence with a sign that pointed and read "This place has delicious food." Just a bit further was another small courtyard with residents, where an old man was doing so handicrafts. At his feet was a chain, and at the other end was a woman with a haggard face. She was originally sitting on the ground but suddenly rushed forward, holding up a photo and shouting recklessly, "Have you seen my son? Have you seen my son? My son!"

She was pulled by the chain, unable to approach the gate but still tried hard to hold up a family photo, squeezing and tapping the young people behind the elder, "My son! My son!"
