Chapter 2002: Chapter 2002: Thanks to You
The thin hexagon used by Zheng Yuci possesses even greater destructive power than the previous hexagons. His purpose in trapping Xu Huo with hexagons is simple: the first ti was to end the battle completely, and this ti he wants to test Xu Huo’s second personality’s strength. Hence, he isn’t in a hurry to interfere with the shadow’s detachnt process.
The attempt of the second personality to detach seems to have stimulated a nerve in him, and he said excitedly: “I’ve never seen a Super Evolver successfully produce a second personality. Ordinary Super Evolvers go mad at the inception of a personality. This second personality is well raised, its form is excellent, hmm, it even has autonomous consciousness…”
At this point, he paused, looked at Xu Huo strangely, “Does the second personality not fight the original personality for dominance?”
After observing for another two seconds, he overturned his previous hypothesis and gave a new conclusion: “The original personality has suppressed the second personality.”
Upon reaching this conclusion, he frowned at Xu Huo, “Why suppress the second personality? Since it can grow this much, it ans you can coexist peacefully. Suppressing it equals suppressing your total strength… Why are you so foolish?”
The “foolish” Xu Huo indeed wants to suppress this “second personality.” During the initial Spirit Evolution, there were four personalities in his Spiritual World. Besides his original personality, the other three were from his adolescence, youth, and childhood stages. Both the adolescent and youth personalities were complete and obedient, they wouldn’t appear prematurely when not needed. However, the childhood personality, from its inception, was like a shadow, which perhaps is related to his mory loss during childhood. This is why he deliberately suppresses the childhood personality. In fact, this childhood personality indeed misbehaves, frequently appearing on its own. Previously, it was just in shadow form; now, it seems to have taken on a physical form, and even grown taller.
In the process of evolving with Tang Guangbo’s assistance, Xu Huo realized through mories of Doctor Zhang that this childhood personality likely ford when he was very young. The process of recovering mories is also the process of unsealing this personality. Yet, having undergone childhood, adolescence, youth, until now, throughout his maturation, his emotions and personality have always been sound, and he’s satisfied with his current state, intending not to use his current evolution to release the childhood personality that might affect him. To prevent the ergence of the childhood personality, he was preparing to withdraw, but unexpectedly, it still erged.
He’s at a disadvantage in the tug-of-war on both sides.
The Shadow Personality seed to be stuffed inside Xu Huo’s body, struggling out with both hands and feet. After quite a while, it managed to extend an arm and a foot, but the other half of its body was still connected to Xu Huo’s. They stood side by side like this, and then it swatted all Zheng Yuci’s hexagons into the ground from afar. Instantly, both he and Xu Huo disappeared from their original spot, blinking behind Zheng Yuci without needing to get too close, directly grabbing his throat as he turned around.
The two were still about ten ters apart, Zheng Yuci’s head tilted slightly, his whole person lifted upwards. His left hand grasped the unseen hand at his throat while extending his right hand in the sa manner to grip Xu Huo’s throat, slowly lifting him. Speaking had beco very difficult by this ti, yet he persisted: “Let
help you…”
This “you” referred to the Shadow Personality. It’s not that Zheng Yuci lacked a ans to extricate himself, using such an Extre One for One thod wasn’t truly intended to kill Xu Huo, but to suppress Xu Huo’s original personality to smoothly allow the Shadow Personality to replace it.
“Let… go…” Xu Huo’s neck and forehead veins bulged and throbbed, helpless as his body wouldn’t move. He strained to turn his head, barely seeing the Shadow Personality fusing slowly back into himself while maintaining its grip on Zheng Yuci.
Props were useless now; he gritted his teeth and tentatively activated the characteristic “The Immortal Pedestrian,” and to his relief, it worked!
“Brother, I’ll help you!” As the pressure on his neck abruptly lifted, Jiang Chengfeng suddenly appeared to the side, clapping his palms together as ten semi-transparent threads lashed toward the middle at Zheng Yuci!
Also freed from the grip of the Shadow Personality, Zheng Yuci didn’t move but didn’t look good. Raising a hand, two hexagonal portals, one front and one behind, transferred all the attacks away. Simultaneously, invisible psychic power surrounded Jiang Chengfeng from all directions.
“Co down!” Xu Huo swiftly opened a portal beneath Jiang Chengfeng’s feet, directly pulling him behind himself, frowning as he said, “What are you doing up here?”
“I saw you two strangling mid-air, afraid you’d really be choked to death… What? Not grateful?” Jiang Chengfeng retorted irritably.
“Thank you.” Xu Huo replied without turning, his gaze still fixed on Zheng Yuci.
However, Zheng Yuci wasn’t much interested in Jiang Chengfeng; he examined Xu Huo with so amusent, “You evolved.”
When the Shadow Personality returned inside, Xu Huo indeed felt he evolved again. The outer control radius of his Spiritual World was a kiloter, and with props amplifying it could double, but this brought trendous consumption and pressure. After prolonged fighting, he was already struggling to maintain before the Shadow Personality appeared. But now, exhaustion had vanished, and his control over the Spiritual World seed enhanced.
The ntal Portal was like opening a passage between two different places. Whether this passage could be successfully opened, how far it could extend, depended on the obstructions in the Spiritual World—be it ordinary buildings or walls crafted entirely of tal. His and Zheng Yuci’s Spiritual Worlds mutually penetrated; opening a ntal Portal wasn’t so easy. Both speed and quantity were discounted, as Zheng Yuci likely sensed the increased psychic power from Jiang Chengfeng’s ntal Portal.
“Thanks to you.” Xu Huo tugged at the corner of his mouth.
“Did you devour the second personality?” Zheng Yuci stretched out his hand from a distance.
Feeling the almost tangible yet visually elusive psychic power surging in the air, Xu Huo raised a brow, opening the power in the sa way while pulling away, throwing Jiang Chengfeng to the periphery of his Spiritual World before looking at the person opposite and saying, “Again?”
Zheng Yuci chuckled, “I originally thought you were the weaker one, but it turns out you’re quite good. It’s just as well.”
While speaking, the two were engulfed by a massive beehive barrier, with invisible psychic power interspersed with nurous hexagons striking Xu Huo from every direction. The billowing white light almost covered everything, and as it nearly shrunk into a ball, countless black shadows shot from the center, instantly smashing the light to bits, and the outer beehive barrier wasn’t spared; however, Xu Huo, who erged afterwards, vomited a mouthful of blood violently.
“Ignorance is fearless.” Zheng Yuci watched him, raising his hands to wave them forward once more.
