Chapter 1957: Chapter 1957: Interested in Making So Extra Money?
It’s alright if you can’t find it, the division of the Eastern and Western districts hasn’t been around for long; there are living witnesses.
Xu Huo took a ride and left, finding an underground clinic far from the city center.
The cost at the Eastern District Hospital isn’t high, so most people don’t require substitutes like these, which are for those who find it inconvenient to have their wounds treated at a hospital.
Inside the curtained partition, an elderly doctor had just finished washing his hands, turned his head and was startled to see the person sitting in the back, but quickly cald down, "Can’t you players not be so sneaky? Knocking on the door during broad daylight shouldn’t cause problems."
Xu Huo drew the curtain and covered the stabbed patient who hasn’t awakened from anesthesia yet, and said to the doctor, "Don’t be nervous, old sir. I’m just here to ask a few questions."
The doctor seed used to it, sat down and casually picked up his register, mumbling while writing, "Getting old makes you forgetful, I can’t even rember which anesthesia was missing; told them long ago to find soone else to help, but they never listen..."
After the doctor finished talking and completed writing the missing dications, Xu Huo asked, "Why is the municipal governnt restricting the birthrate?"
The doctor paused in his movent and looked up at him. After a mont, he said, "Well, of course, it’s because they don’t need that many people anymore."
Xu Huo understood, so the municipal governnt secretly restricting population growth is real, and it’s not unknown.
"Is there a sufficient number of players in the Eastern District?"
"Perhaps they think it’s enough themselves," the doctor said vaguely, stretched his back, and took a paper slip from the drawer, wrote down an address, and handed it to him, "I don’t care about those matters and just want to live healthily until old age. If you wish to dig out so sensational news, go here, explosive information is revealed there every day."
Xu Huo paused, took the paper slip, and left behind a hundred White Notes before leaving.
The doctor gave the address of a bar. It was still dayti, but compared to the other relatively deserted shops, this place was bustling, though the people coming and going are not drinkers, but rather people with bags and hurried expressions.
Xu Huo pushed the door open and entered. Apart from a few people near the entrance who glanced at him, everyone else was busy with their affairs; the Eastern District had generally popularized small terminals, yet these people were exchanging paper docunts. They seed to be writing news articles, filled with terms like "municipal governnt," "Agor Corporation," and "Resistance Army."
Strangely, the content written by these people mixed together, so promoting the municipal governnt, so praising Agor Corporation’s contributions to Yuquan City, while others were attacking the Eastern District’s oppression of the Western District from the standpoint of the Resistance Army.
Outside the bar, ard robots and aircraft passed by but rely glanced over before moving on.
"Brother, help us out, take this stack of papers over there," soone casually handed Xu Huo a pile of paper.
Xu Huo glanced down at it, seeing the headline "Eastern District players slaughter civilians at will." After taking a few steps with the flyers, they were taken by another person who handed them to a person wearing a hat, swiftly saying, "Quickly distribute these, make sure to finish within two hours."
The person wearing the hat got onto an aircraft and left.
The person who handed out the flyers turned back and urged a colleague, "Hurry, finish writing the article about the Resistance Army pretending to be municipal governnt players!"
A crowd of people busied themselves around the table; Xu Huo lent a hand a few tis and roughly figured out what kind of place this was.
This is essentially a dia company creating conflicts; on one side, impersonating the Resistance Army to attack the municipal governnt and Agor Corporation with flyers; on the other, posting clarifying exposés on Collection of Information Terminals, shifting the bla onto the Resistance Army.
It’s hard to say they’re not the mouthpiece of Agor Corporation, as Agor Corporation is almost hidden within, with most of what’s discussed being publicly known information, or things they cannot cover up, like sudden incidents of players slaughtering civilians, whereas there’s no ntion of probing into the crazed players, and things not found on Collection of Information Terminals are hardly ntioned here.
However, it was still useful for Xu Huo; so parts of the information about players killing people that has been deleted clean on Collection of Information Terminals were preserved here, besides which, so ready investigative data was available, like small news pieces to fill in corners, such as Agor Corporation developing new potions, so distant governnt seeking purchase, or Yuquan City’s governnt collaborating with multiple city governnts, talents from other cities continuously moving to Yuquan City to learn, and even so players expressing the desire to reside in Yuquan City.
In addition, there’s exposure of suspected Resistance Army activity locations, Resistance Army base sites; naturally, these places must have been investigated already, but it still reflects certain behavioral patterns of the Resistance Army.
Half an hour later, Xu Huo left the bar.
Using public opinion to guide and consu ordinary people’s emotions and enthusiasm isn’t a rare technique; put another way, it’s to give these bored people sothing to do, lest they focus on what they shouldn’t.
Nonetheless, this site’s arrangent for players from other cities to co and learn is an important signal. Without genuinely useful content, players can’t be attracted, wondering if this relates to the Eastern District players’ anomalies.
It’s almost certain incidents of players losing control aren’t rare in the Eastern District, which implies severe flaws and aftereffects in how players are cultivated in the Eastern District.
Yet under this premise, the Eastern District privately controls the population, and from the data, this wasn’t imdiately implented post-division, suggesting that at so point, Agor Corporation suddenly ceased relying on city-supplied players, or found a clear control line—they no longer needed so many players.
They don’t need many players yet can attract players from other places, unless they broke through the technical barrier that even advanced wormhole sites couldn’t breach and can accurately cultivate elite players?
If that were the case, Agor Corporation wouldn’t confine itself to such a small division site.
After leaving the bar, Xu Huo intended to visit places where the Resistance Army had been active, but before walking a few streets, a woman started following him; after a few minutes, she intercepted him by taking a shortcut, first tossing him a roadside fruit which he caught, then she smiled and said, "You ca from another district, right? Interested in making so extra money?"
