Chapter 1910: Chapter 1910: You Should Write a Will Too
The atmosphere at the Xin Family dinner wasn’t exactly pleasant. On the surface, it seed like a celebration of the family head’s recovery, but everyone was aware that this was an important mont to decide the distribution of family power, as the elder wanted to see them to determine how his rights and properties would be allocated.
There weren’t many candidates qualified to be the head, and most people had an inkling; it was just a question of who would prevail in the end. The elder’s private assets were of utmost importance.
Soone like Xin Rong, a third generation, was a legitimate grandchild and could rightfully possess more than others. Xin Rong’s grandmother also ca from a good background, but most of them were naless and faceless individuals without status in either the Xin Family or their mother’s family. Thus, how much they could acquire depended on the level of affection from the elders. There were countless instances where unfortunately soone ended up with nothing due to oversight.
This is probably the comical aspect of large families.
"Mr. Xu, did you find dinner tonight to your taste?" In the middle of the al, the elder unexpectedly stopped and asked.
There weren’t many outsiders present. Xu Huo sat with Xin Rong’s family not far from the elder, and when called upon, he raised his head slightly under the eyes of everyone, "Very good. What do you think, sir?"
The elder burst into laughter, "Of course, the food made in our own ho suits our own taste."
Xu Huo smiled without speaking further; this interlude quickly passed. The elder’s conversation wasn’t ant for actual chatting but was simply a casual greeting. After all, Xu Huo wasn’t just an ordinary friend of Xin Rong but rather a guest bearing the Platinum Badge.
Xin Rong had briefed his grandfather beforehand, and at this point, he winked at Xu Huo, signaling that there was nothing wrong.
The al quickly ca to an end. The elder and his wife left the main hall. Once they went upstairs, the rest of the Xin Family waited downstairs for the Butler to call whoever should go up.
The elder’s initiative at the dinner table made so of the Xin Family more amiable towards Xu Huo. Those close to Xin Rong’s family even felt like they had revealed their "secret" card and were sure to win in this inheritance distribution.
"This is really boring," Xin Rong said to Xu Huo during a cigarette break. "Look, having too many relatives is a hassle, I spent a lot of ti just trying to rember these people when I was a kid."
"Isn’t it a good thing?" Xu Huo said, "Don’t you often go to Elder Lu’s place to mooch props?"
"There are advantages, of course; that’s why I’m trying all ans to fight for it." Xin Rong leaned against the railing and exhaled a puff of smoke, "I don’t lack money, but there are so things that just can’t be done with money alone; you need connections. The most important inheritance of the family is the network. I used to think that if I beca a Super Player, I wouldn’t need anyone or any ans to survive, but it’s not that easy to beco a Super Player, so I better take it step by step."
From the Xin Family’s perspective, it’s ranked even among the Eye of Platinum.
"Relax, I didn’t reveal anything else, just told the old man you have the Platinum Badge," Xin Rong said, "Consider it as adding a chip for my family at the final mont... Who knows, he might think I can access Kou Kou’s network at the Municipal Governnt!"
"Let’s see how your luck pans out," Xu Huo said, "In a few days, I have to return this badge."
Xin Rong reached out, "Let
take a look."
"That’s enough," Xu Huo didn’t entertain him, looked at the ti, "I’m leaving."
Xin Rong wanted to keep him, but at that mont, Yan Fang appeared in the garden, "Mr. Xu, Miss Kou Kou would like to see you."
Xin Rong urged him to leave quickly.
After saying goodbye to his parents, Xu Huo followed Yan Fang away.
The aircraft swiftly arrived at the chanical Castle. At night, the castle, with no one visiting, was tranquil, if you overlook the chanical gears constantly clicking in the Spiritual World.
Yan Fang led him to the study. As the door opened, he saw Bai Kou, irritable, facing "Angel’s Eye," surrounded by opened books and notes, almost half-buried.
Closing the door casually, Xu Huo walked over, saying, "I thought you’d at least wait until tomorrow to find ."
Bai Kou looked at him with cold eyes, "You can na your conditions."
"Will," Xu Huo said, sitting on the sofa on the side of the room.
Back when Bai Kou taught him to sense the Spatial Ray, she had proposed a condition that he should write a will leaving Rose Castle to her.
"Pick another," Bai Kou said, "Allowing the Rose Castle to remain with you until after your death was already my limit."
"Rose Castle is Mr. He Pu’s estate to deal with," Xu Huo reminded her, as He Pu could give it to whoever he wished.
"So what?" Bai Kou was utterly indifferent, "Leaving Rose Castle temporarily in your hands, I’ve already respected his wishes. The castle can’t stay with you forever."
"I understand your obsession with Rose Castle," Xu Huo thought for a mont, "How about this, you also write a will, and when you die, unconditionally give the chanical Castle to , how about that?"
The value of the chanical Castle and Rose Castle aren’t on the sa level, yet Bai Kou agreed without hesitation, pulling out paper to write a will.
Xu Huo hesitated briefly, then asked, "Is the chanical Castle your property or your stepfather’s?"
"Nominally, it’s the Municipal Governnt’s property, but to please the Mayor’s wife, the Mayor gave it to
long ago," Bai Kou wrote without pressure, "The castle and everything in it, including limited edition weapons and exhibits, can be transferred to you with the castle."
Xu Huo chuckled, "You’re betting this will would never take effect, right."
Bai Kou glanced at him, "Didn’t you think the sa when writing your will?"
So fair that neither should speak of the other.
After writing the wills, they pressed their fingerprints and each kept a copy. Xu Huo approached the desk, stood beside Bai Kou, activated "Angel’s Eye," and then asked her, "What do you think Ti Ray is like?"
Bai Kou had long explored this area of knowledge, "Ti Ray is similar to Spatial Ray."
"My theoretical knowledge isn’t rich, but I can share so of my experiences," Xu Huo gestured for her to place her hand on the Prival Stone, and slowly said, "In my perception, Ti Ray has a curvature. Perhaps overall it’s akin to Spatial Ray, but ti is fluid and can only move forward. You’ve heard of ’curved ti’, right? Since this concept exists in the ga world, visualizing Ti Ray as an undulating line works; it’s just the curvature varies and is indistinguishable by feeling alone."
"Unlike Spatial Ray, Ti Ray can connect to the Ti Ray of other spaces. I think this is why Ti Ray can cause instant death."
