Chapter 1844: Chapter 1844: Just a Right Choice

After a simple rest, the group set off again.

This ti, Xu Huo didn’t waste any ti. After putting Chang Shoujie into the picture fra, he directly used the Spatial Teleportation Device to rush to the CK12 Safe Zone as quickly as possible, while Gao Dawei was handed over to Black Under the Light.

Different props have varying units of teleportation each ti, so after setting the target, everyone didn’t strictly walk the sa path; instead, they proceeded at their own pace.

During the journey, Xu Huo encountered Black Under the Light twice. Black Under the Light’s sensing prop covers a very wide range, and after their second eting, he reminded Xu Huo that soone was following them.

"Can you see clearly who it is?" Xu Huo asked.

"Too far away, and the other party is using an Invisibility Prop," Black Under the Light shook his head, "but it seems their main target is you; I’m not sure if it’s because they see your level as low or for another reason."

"Don’t worry about them for now," Xu Huo said, "if you run into Brother Wu, let them know."

Black Under the Light agreed.

When Xu Huo stopped to rest midway, he intentionally used the "Cubic Space" to expand the coverage of Spatial Power. Sure enough, beyond the original sensing range of three hundred ters, he found soone who excelled at hiding, camouflaging as part of the desert, and stayed perfectly still once he stopped.

Seeing the other party had no intention of making a move imdiately, Xu Huo put away the "Cubic Space" and continued forward. After testing several tis like this, he found that even using the Spatial Teleportation Device, he couldn’t shake them off.

The tracker definitely had the Spatial Teleportation Device; the only uncertainty was their tracking thod. Along the way, Xu Huo had already used a prop to remove prop effects twice, but the other party kept pace without falling behind, indicating the prop didn’t succeed, and using "Revolving Lantern" and "The Fog of Dinsion" at this point would be too late.

Besides testing the tracker, Xu Huo also expanded the search range because the closer he got to CK12, the more fluctuations appeared on the indicator device.

This situation could be due to device damage, magnetic interference, or Dr. Joyce’s indicator device being continuously active.

He was delayed a bit, so he arrived slightly later than Black Under the Light and the others.

Black Under the Light and Brother Wu’s group had already sent machinery down.

Although CK12 was buried by sand, it was one of the safer zones to disappear into the Sand Sea later, possibly equipped with sand prevention facilities. Even if struck by earthquakes and severe sandstorms and buried, there might still be so cavities in the buildings.

"Why did you arrive so late?" Black Under the Light relaxed his expression slightly.

Xu Huo glanced at Brother Wu and Gao Dawei and the others, confird they all knew about the tracker and then said, "Let’s find it first; roughly it’s in this direction."

As he spoke, he also sent two ard robots below.

Black Under the Light instantly recognized these robots as products from Zone 019, with a bit of enthusiasm in his eyes, "Using such robots to dig sand is too extravagant."

Xu Huo was getting so food; upon hearing this, he didn’t even lift his head and said, "If it can’t dig sand, then what’s the point?"

Despite that, these two machines were indeed not very smart, so he prepared communicators for them, ensuring they record everything they see, facilitating Xu Huo’s later investigation for clues—this could indeed be achieved by modifying the robots for real-ti connection, but Xu Huo was not skilled in robot modification, so he didn’t bother.

Afterward, he released Chang Shoujie.

A group gathered together, and Xu Huo asked about the tattoo on Chang Shoujie’s face.

The Black Snake tattoo on Chang Shoujie’s face was very famous in Zone 010.

"Why did you get a Black Snake tattoo on your face?" Pink Hair asked, resting her chin, "It kind of makes you look like a villain."

Unlike his dayti cold deanor, Chang Shoujie explained, "When I first beca a player, I returned from the ga badly injured and accidentally got stung by a venomous scorpion, lying poisoned in a desolate forest."

"It’s a scorpion that secretes a paralyzing venom; after being poisoned, you won’t lose consciousness, but stay awake to feel the pain until death."

"What’s terrifying is when the venom causes pain, your body becos paralyzed like you lose the ability to move, leaving you to experience the final death journey with your eyes wide open."

"I thought I would die there, but suddenly, a Black Snake swam from afar."

"That Black Snake was also poisonous. Generally, within the food range of small snakes, humans aren’t included, but many evolved snakes in Zone 010, even ones as thick as fingers, eat humans."

"And usually these snakes live in groups, encountering them in the wild, a person quickly gets bitten to death."

"But that snake was different."

At this point, Chang Shoujie’s expression carried a hint of mysterious reverence, "It didn’t harm

but circled around

more than ten tis and finally stopped in front of my face."

"I thought it was waiting for

to die before eating , but it was so intelligent, getting close and staring into my eyes."

"It’s the first ti I got so close to a snake, also the first ti I observed its eyes. In the green pupils were fluffy drifting threads, sowhat resembling just sprouted grass, slightly like fish roe in a breeding tank."

"Just when I thought I was surely dood, the Black Snake backed up two steps, nodded slightly toward , and suddenly darted forward to bite my neck."

"I could feel the venom entering from the wound, and after intense pain, the Black Snake disappeared into the grass, but my body gradually regained sensation."

"I survived."

"To this day, recalling that near-death experience feels like stepping into another dinsion. In any other zone, getting poisoned would have ant death, but in Zone 010, a poisonous snake saved ."

"This life wasn’t picked up in vain; Zone 010 gave

a second chance at life. I must dedicate my lifeti to repaying it."

"The story indeed sounds quite miraculous," Black Under the Light’s expression was sowhat peculiar, "but the scorpion that nearly killed you was from your hotown too."

Brother Wu and the others nodded in agreent.

"Anyone, at any ti, could face death in any zone, but being saved by a snake, that’s destiny," Chang Shoujie said solemnly.

"The probability of the latter is much smaller," Brother Wu said.

The experience alone, just hearing it, feels mystical, and it’s normal if the person involved gains so other insight from it.

"Because of this, you decided to devote your life to Zone 010?" Gao Dawei suddenly asked.

Though believing in destiny’s guidance, Chang Shoujie’s experience was more of an epiphany, so he lacked any specific religious beliefs and wasn’t a fanatic; thus, he answered, "I only made one correct choice thirty years ago."

Gao Dawei remained silent.

Xu Huo raised his water bottle to salute Chang Shoujie, and the latter likewise raised his bottle.
