184: Chapter 184: Players Pursuit
“How much?” Xu Huo asked.
“Two dollars each,” the girl hastily replied.
There were so scattered paper money laid out in front of Xu Huo’s car, which he gestured at with his chin, signaling her to take it herself.
The girl paused, then said with embarrassnt, “Sir, could you hand
the money instead?”
“If you don’t want to sell, then forget it,” Xu Huo said as he pretended to close the car window, but the girl quickly threw the flower into the car.
Xu Huo, who was on guard, imdiately pulled out the Crimson Sword.
With a flash of the blade, the rose was cut in two and fell onto the passenger seat, turning into two pieces of a snake.
The head of the snake, still alive, shot toward him.
With a swing of his sword, Xu Huo knocked the snake’s head away, pushed open the car door, and stepped out.
He used a string from his instrunt to trip up the fleeing person and drag them back toward the car.
Choked by the neck and dragged back to the car by their heels scraping the ground, the other party seed to lack both strength and combat experience.
Just as he was about to raise his sword to kill, a sudden gust of wind rushed from the side.
Xu Huo, reflexively raising the Bull Shield to block, was the next second knocked flying by a strange force.
He retracted his strings to lessen the impact and landed about ten ters away, but as soon as his feet touched the ground, a beast at least three or four tis larger than an adult boar appeared in front of him.
Its steel-spike-like backstab hit the Bull Shield and knocked him flying again!
Xu Huo took advantage of his montum to fly into the air and cleave the beast in two.
However, when the bisected beast spilled no blood, it simply “poofed” and shrank into two hard paper cutouts, with images of a boar printed on the fluttering pieces.
By then, the surrounding scenery had already changed—he had unknowingly driven to a construction site, and a stocky foreign man was dragging the flower-selling girl and running away desperately with his back to him!
Suddenly, a downpour started.
Xu Huo eyed the nuric values fluctuating between “5” and “6” above their heads and followed them to a bustling bar street.
As he pushed open the front door, he saw a room full of people with nuric values above their heads, including Gu Yu and his two companions whom he had previously seen in the cetery.
He turned around and left.
Zheng Liang suddenly appeared in front of him, wiping the rain off his face, “Xu Huo, I wasn’t looking for you, yet you’ve co to
yourself?”
Xu Huo’s eyebrows twitched slightly, but before he could speak, he heard a lion’s roar from behind.
Instantly, the two people who had just run into the bar were riding a lion that smashed through the door and charged out, followed by Gu Yu and other players!
“Don’t be afraid!” soone shouted, “You think you can just hurt soone and run away?”
“Move aside!” The lion headed straight towards Xu Huo, with the flower-selling girl waving frantically at him from the front.
Xu Huo obligingly stepped aside, but Zheng Liang, seizing the chance to try to stop them, was caught off guard when the lion ca to a screeching halt, tossing its two riders forward before colliding with him and turning into a playing card with a “poof.”
“Are you mocking ?” Zheng Liang twisted to look at the two people, already running more than ten ters away.
He chased a few steps before stopping and refocused his attention on Xu Huo.
“You little brat, after so many years, it’s finally my turn for revenge…”
He hadn’t finished speaking when Xu Huo suddenly disappeared from his spot, his figure becoming a blur as he raced towards the two fleeing individuals.
Zheng Liang instinctively used his special ability to dodge, but Xu Huo’s strike was rely a feint.
He passed by Zheng’s standing spot at great speed, chasing after the two escapees.
Zheng Liang’s face darkened as he called out to the players gathered in the bar, “Whoever catches him, I’ll give them Ten Thousand White Bills!”
About ten players cheered in response and charged into the rain with him.
“Have you gone mad?” Gu Yu shouted after them.
Another player stopped her, “These people gathered together, none willing to yield to another, seizing the chance to vent for Zheng Liang and compete to see who’s better, it also prevents internal conflict.”
Gu Yu snorted coldly, “I’ve said it before, Xu Huo is the player who was in Fenbei Town with ; he’s the one who saved my life.
He’s my friend.
What are you trying to do to my friend?”
The player shrugged, “These are Brother Qiao’s exact words.”
Gu Yu paused, her anger growing stronger, “As if they could be a match for Xu Huo!”
“Whether they are or not can only be known after a fight,” the player said.
“If he really is as powerful as you say, it’s not impossible to consider recruiting him into the organization.”
After saying this, he waved his hand dismissively and went back into the bar to drink.
Gu Yu stared at his retreating figure, then looked toward the players amusing themselves inside, the anger on her face gradually turning into disappointnt.
She did not stay with these players any longer; she drove off to chase after Zheng Liang and the others.
Elsewhere, Xu Huo followed behind the two flower sellers, with a dozen more people trailing him.
These people sotis leaped over shorter shops; sotis they darted through the slowly moving vehicles in the rain to take shortcuts.
The three groups chased each other along the city streets, none intending to back down.
Zheng Liang was one of the faster ones among them, capable of instantaneously appearing beside Xu Huo from five or six ters away.
With this ability, he managed to cut in front of Xu Huo several tis, intending to stop him.
But Xu Huo initially dodged him, and later seed to predict his position, accelerating in advance so that he was always just two or three ters ahead, tantalizingly out of reach.
“Xu Huo, stop right there!” he shouted ahead.
Xu Huo didn’t even turn his head, casually kicking a trash can into the path of the flower sellers who attempted to turn down a side street, forcing them back onto the main road before he suddenly increased his speed.
“He’s catching up!” The flower seller, who was too tired to run and was being carried by her companion, thus had the energy to look back and check on the situation behind them.
Upon seeing Xu Huo nearing, she urgently patted her companion’s shoulder.
The strong man casually tossed a playing card into the air, and a gigantic cheetah materialized beneath the two, carrying them forward in a furious sprint!
The cheetah was very fast, instantly widening the gap with Xu Huo.
However, Xu Huo sped up too.
Although he wasn’t fast enough to catch the cheetah, it was also difficult to shake him off.
“Big Brother, I just wanted to sell you a flower!
Why are you relentlessly chasing after ?” the flower seller cried with tears of regret.
Xu Huo, following behind in the rain, said nothing, still persisting in his pursuit and occasionally playing tricks on Zheng Liang and the others.
Zheng Liang and a dozen companions began to have doubts as they ran.
They had almost completed half the circuit; the two in front occasionally used props to buffer themselves, while their bigger group took turns resting since midway.
So pursued while others took shortcuts to cut the others off in front.
The only one who had persisted the entire way was Zheng Liang, but by now, his strength was failing…
Only Xu Huo, from the start to the end, hadn’t stopped for a rest.
Even amidst intermittent acceleration and dealing with sudden attacks, he had yet to show any sign of fatigue.
A player caught up with Zheng Liang, panting heavily, “Isn’t he a Cannibal Player?”
“Even if you were one, he couldn’t be; that guy’s too crafty to fall for sothing so dumb!” Zheng Liang said, his face pale and his voice shaky.
“That’s not right,” exclaid one, suddenly coming to a realization as he once again saw Xu Huo herd the two players in front from a side street back to the main road, “He’s intentionally making us run in circles!”
