Capítulo 1812: Chapter 1812: Small Town Encampnt

Using degraded humans for experints sounds unethical and shocking, but as Dr. Deng deliberately avoids ntioning, in the background of the ga world, dical experints can indeed provide so conditions that break through the baseline.

It’s not that Xu Huo really believes that normal humans and degraded humans can reproduce successfully, but rather that he saw a glimr of other hope from the potion given by Dr. Deng—assuming Stellar dical or Dr. Deng’s friends developed a potion to cure Black Thorn disease, does that an it could lift fertility restrictions for people in Zone 010?

The CK12 Safe Zone has disappeared. Although the area outlined by the old man is a bit different from what Fan Yunhong provided, it’s not too far off. So areas overlap with their previous route, but to avoid missing anything, Xu Huo still turned back to search for CK12 and so nearby safe zones.

The result was still nothing. As the last to disappear in this area, CK12 was no different from other safe zones, completely buried beneath the yellow sand.

With no results here, Xu Huo turned and headed north.

Ying Hai ntioned that Daye Mountain is already outside the country where CK12 is located; it’s in a small northern country. Originally a desert mountain area, as Zone 010 began desertification, the situation here didn’t improve much. Still, the continuous mountains block the sandstorms, preventing the area from completely becoming a sand sea.

Due to information blockage, Ying Hai and the others only knew there used to be a safe zone near Daye Mountain. As for its exact location and whether it still exists, they are not sure, so Xu Huo ca to look regardless.

On the leeward side of the mountain, he occasionally saw one or two extrely drought-tolerant mutant plants, their roots buried very deep. He dug over ten ters without reaching the end.

Just as he was about to take this mutant plant out entirely, a thumb-sized bulge suddenly erged from a part of the root and rapidly approached Xu Huo along the root, then suddenly shot out at a node, heading straight for his face.

“Pop!” This thing hit the protective mask. Xu Huo reached out to pinch it and found a shriveled brown bug. Its outer shell had shattered when it tried to “go down with” the mask, and milky fluid flowed out from inside.

This was the first one; soon, there was a second. These bugs seed parasitic on the plant roots and sensing danger, erged along the plant roots. In the next ten seconds, dozens of bugs flew up from the ground like bullets, thudding against Xu Huo’s protective suit.

Their fluid is mildly toxic but not enough to damage the protective suit, so Xu Huo ignored them and continued extracting the remaining roots. However, as he packed them, there was a different sound from the gravel ground. He looked up slightly, just in ti to see a multicolored venomous snake slither to his feet.

“Thud!” The snake was very fast, but its swift strike hit the spatial barrier, bouncing itself far away. When it shook its head and tried to burrow into the ground, the surrounding space had already been sealed.

The sa went for the other four snakes trapped together.

A total of five snakes; Xu Huo threw them all into glass containers and was about to put them in the luggage compartnt when a person hiding behind rocks not far away peeked out and greeted him, “Brother, are you selling your stuff?”

“The snakes?” Xu Huo raised his hand slightly.

The person quickly waved his hand and pointed to the ground, “Those.”

“I don’t need them; help yourself,” Xu Huo said.

The person repeatedly thanked him but hesitated to co out. Xu Huo understood, moved his things a bit further away, and then saw the person quickly run out, first stuffing one into his mouth to chew, then hurriedly picking up the rest.

If there are ordinary people around, it indicates there should be a safe zone nearby.

After the person picked up everything, Xu Huo asked, “How much fluid do those bugs yield?”

“Milk bugs are very thirst-quenching, good for traveling in the desert or selling after bringing them back!” The man said, hesitatingly looking at Xu Huo, “Do you want them back?”

“I don’t want them,” Xu Huo said, pointing to the nearby grass with his chin, “There should be more below there.”

The man waved his hand, “These are enough.”

He said, walking back behind the rocks, sneaking a glance back as he went. Seeing Xu Huo following, he hesitated, “Are you a visitor from outside the zone? Are you looking for a safe zone?”

“Is there a safe zone nearby?” Xu Huo asked.

“There is, but it’s dangerous. We usually don’t go there,” the man said, glancing behind the rocks where his companion was.

“You don’t live in the safe zone?”

“We used to live in the safe zone, but it got taken over by players, so we escaped,” the man said as he backed away, pointing ahead to the right, “Just go that way.”

Xu Huo did not approach but asked, “Have you seen soone with a Black Snake tattoo on their face?”

The man quickly shook his head, “Haven’t seen him, try looking in the safe zone.”

Then he turned and ran off.

Xu Huo followed a bit behind them. The two n, carrying the bugs, headed in the opposite direction of the safe zone for a while, then changed course after ensuring they weren’t being followed.

The place they were heading to was far; only when it was nearly dusk did a small town appear past the hills, surrounded by mountains. A high wall was built from rocks at the entrance, with a small door below, guarded by soone. The man who had picked up the bugs rang a bell outside, and soon the iron door opened. Before it fully closed, Xu Huo heard them faintly boasting about today’s good harvest to the gatekeeper.

When Xu Huo appeared outside the stone wall, three players climbed to the top of the high wall, and the man in the middle with the Buzz Cut shouted, “Friend, the safe zone isn’t here!”

“Just passing through, looking to buy so water,” Xu Huo shouted back, “No harm intended.”

The three on the high wall exchanged glances; one left and returned quickly, whispered with the person in the middle, then said, “Guests from afar, let’s not talk about trade, co in for a sip to quench your thirst!”

The door below the stone wall opened again.

Xu Huo showed his friendliness by walking in. Behind the door was a relatively well-preserved street and old buildings, mostly older structures with no particularly tall buildings, making it look extra spacious.

The two n who had brought him hadn’t gone far yet, enthusiastically showing the milk bugs to others. Upon spotting Xu Huo, they looked like they’d made a mistake, glancing at the Buzz Cut guy who had descended from the high wall.

Buzz Cut waved them away and approached Xu Huo to negotiate.

Xu Huo didn’t seem like soone lacking water or food, so Buzz Cut led him towards the town center’s governnt office building.

The pedestrians on the street were drawn to them, watching intently.

These people, though thin, appeared to be in decent spirits.
