Chapter 1778: Chapter 1778: An Apology Is Necessary

When Zheng Shijiu heard the word “junior,” his eyelid twitched, and the other players realized that Xu Huo had brought reinforcents!

Before Zheng Shijiu could speak again, the man in the trench coat turned his head and motioned, guiding Xu Huo forward. He patted him on the back and said, “Even using Super Props, that’s shaless.”

As he spoke, he made a pulling gesture behind Xu Huo. The invisible chain beca visible in his hand, with its other end still connected to a part of the District Governnt. But with a forceful tug, the chain quickly contracted, pulling the controlled player from a distance.

Next, the man in the trench coat circled Zheng Shijiu’s group in mid-air, dropped a corpse, and retracted the chain. It seed he had killed with his bare hands, as blood was on his fingers and one end of the chain. Under the restrained and shocked gazes of Zheng Shijiu and others, he said, “Using such a Super Prop to kill a Rank-C Player, since you don’t know how to use it, you might as well give it to .”

He took the Super Prop right in front of them.

A player wanted to speak, but before he could, Zheng Shijiu stopped him. His gaze moved from the man in the trench coat to Xu Huo, “This is my oversight. Initially, after the Ember Girl incident, you could have left. Failing to fulfill that promise is my fault. The governnt players have wronged you with their strength. The current situation is the District Governnt’s responsibility. Zone 019 can compensate you for all your losses as best as possible.”

Offering compensation while admitting his own shortcomings and faulting the District Governnt implied acknowledgnt of the truth in everything Xu Huo had previously claid. Whether out of genuine intention or fear of the man in the trench coat, Zheng Shijiu represented the District Governnt in taking this step back.

“Zheng Shijiu! You don’t have the authority to do this!” Another group of players arrived, accompanied by governnt personnel led by Fang Jing. The voice ca from one among them.

However, before he finished speaking, Zheng Shijiu gave him a stern look and instructed the players beside him, “Escort Mr. Cai back.”

Poor Mr. Cai, the governnt official brought by the players, hadn’t even regained his footing before being forcibly taken away again.

Fang Jing ca to Zheng Shijiu’s side and, seeing him nod at her, she addressed the man in the trench coat, “Everything that just happened was a dereliction of duty from our governnt personnel. Since you’ve traveled from afar, perhaps you’d like to sit for a while? We will surely provide you with a satisfactory explanation.”

The man in the trench coat remained silent. The players he was holding were already dissatisfied with the actions of Zheng Shijiu and his group. Upon hearing Fang Jing’s submissive stance towards an external player, one of them couldn’t help but say, “You people are just throwing the face of the District Governnt to the ground for others to step on! There’s no need to compromise with these players from other zones. What do our internal affairs of Zone 019 have to do with them…”

His tone was quite firm, but in the next mont, he was shocked to find his hand, out of his control, lifting to stab his eye. Yet, his entire body was restrained and unable to move, so he could only watch helplessly as his hand drew closer!

“Spare him!” Zheng Shijiu imdiately called out to stop him, but he didn’t use any props, even forbidding his subordinates from intervening.

Perhaps the other players felt that to uphold the dignity of the District Governnt, bearing so cost to repel outsiders was worth it. However, for a normal Rank-A Player, Zheng Shijiu wouldn’t even think before offering compensation.

Zone 019 had no Super Players, and even facing soone who purported to be a Super Player, let alone expelling him from Zone 019, would co at a huge cost if they did so much as raise a hand against him. Previously, to deal with potential district unrest, the governnt had assembled hundreds of Rank-A Players. Most of these players were elites, with even so Super Evolvers among them, but compared to a Super Player, that was not enough. Zone 019 was not without the ans for war; it simply had no reason to risk more for this matter.

Before the losses could be further amplified, it was best for both sides to resolve things amicably from this point, as far as Zone 019 was concerned. Zheng Shijiu might not feel lucky for having resolutely dismissed the proposal of silencing, acknowledging that if Xu Huo died in Zone 019, they’d never again find peace!

A soft “squelch” sounded; the disgruntled player poked out his own eyes, his face twisted in pain, his mouth open wide without a sound, all while his fingers still probed into his eye sockets, as if unwilling to stop until they were fully inserted!

Zheng Shijiu’s eyes darkened before he stepped forward. But before he could get close, an invisible barrier knocked him back, and the man in the trench coat appeared in front of the person who had just stopped, pressing on his shoulder and said: “Find soone who can make decisions to talk to.”

This man, regarded by Zone 019 as “Hero,” looked at the person in front of him and said again, “He’s young and inconsiderate, offending you. I apologize on his behalf. But things haven’t reached a point of no return. Zone 019 sincerely wants to compensate you and your junior. Please show rcy and spare him.”

“I can now fully represent Zone 019.”

The man in the trench coat tossed the injured player back to Zheng Shijiu, then returned to Xu Huo’s side, “This is your matter; you decide.”

Xu Huo nodded slightly and turned to Zheng Shijiu, “Your zone’s players took one Rank A Prop from , three Rank-B Props, and destroyed three Rank A Props and seven Rank-B Props of mine.”

“The lost props can be returned to you, and the destroyed props will be compensated at the sa level by Zone 019, along with the three ard robots you lost,” Zheng Shijiu said. “Regarding the injuries you’ve sustained, you can na your conditions, and I will fulfill them.”

Xu Huo had no objections, but he didn’t need additional compensation, “When I first arrived in Zone 019, I thought it was a nice place. Even people without the ability to work could live well here. I greatly admire people like Master Soran, although the governnt personnel in Zone 019 are rather disappointing.”

“If you hadn’t stirred up trouble, I’d be having lunch on the train right now.”

Zheng Shijiu couldn’t suppress a hint of surprise. Even though he had previously promised to ensure Xu Huo’s safety, he had doubts about his intentions. A high-level clearance was sothing every player desired, yet there was no conflict in also reaping additional benefits. Regardless of whether he wanted to cooperate with the District Governnt, he could claim ample supplies. As such, when he previously stood up, aside from the players brought by the Son of Soran, no one thought he was about to leave.

After a brief silence, he asked, “Do you have any other requests?”

“The players you captured—I promised to help them clear the level together, so please bring them over,” Xu Huo said.

Another unexpected request, leaving the crowd perplexed, wondering—does a good Samaritan really exist in the ga?
