Chapter 1766: Chapter 1766: The Storm Has Nothing to Do with the Storm’s Center

The barrier that was disrupted, especially by a disruptor from Zone 019, is incredibly difficult to reopen for a second ti in such circumstances. The governnt’s players tid their move to capture Xu Huo precisely to avoid letting the situation escalate before they could apprehend him and then deal with the aftermath.

The only unexpected factor was, after apprehending so many players who collaborated with Xu Huo, the governnt assud he was out of allies. They had learned from multiple sources that he was indeed a Rank-C Player, making this a seemingly straightforward capture operation... but now, an unexpected turn has occurred.

Xu Huo is slippery and evasive, wielding nurous valuable props, many of which are defensive in nature. Having undergone Super Evolution, he is often able to sense when others are about to use a Spatial Artifact to capture him and his props, allowing him to slip through encirclents just in ti, buying himself several minutes.

With the obstruction barrier damaged, if the governnt were to reinstate it, they would risk exposing their own intentions. They could no longer indiscriminately use violence against Xu Huo, especially when doing so would endanger ordinary citizens of Zone 019.

Xu Huo hasn’t committed any illegal acts; even the props he uses to spread "rumors" are re dolls. He has gone to great lengths to protect Xia Xi Duolaiti’s privacy, even refraining from revealing her appearance. Publicly spreading such "rumors" is not a significant cri in Zone 019, especially since the rumors target the governnt. Ordinary citizens find themselves at odds with the authorities, and the governnt’s intense response only makes matters seem more suspicious.

Thus, as more aircraft hovered over the city, the governnt players changed their strategy, publicly requesting Xu Huo to return and cooperate with the investigation.

"Investigate what?" Xu Huo stood atop the tallest building in the city, sporting a face similar to a resident of Zone 019, and said, "From yesterday until now, more than twenty-four hours have passed, and neither the District Governnt nor the Dolaiti Family have admitted the existence of Xia Xi Duolaiti. Since you claim she does not exist, there can’t be a body kidnapped and murdered, so what exactly do you wish to investigate?"

"You’ve disrupted public order by impersonating a corpse with a doll and spreading false information. Zone 019 has the right to hold you accountable," said the man in conversation, with dark skin, a square face, and a buzz cut, dressed entirely in black, exuding a sharp, oppressive aura.

"Hold

accountable?" Xu Huo smiled slightly, "You speak with such caution, not revealing the governnt’s stance, avoiding related events, your attitude remains ambiguous... perhaps you’re afraid of saying sothing that can’t be taken back in the end."

The high-ranking governnt officials and the Dolaiti Family had yet to make a decision, creating the potential for a butterfly effect due to the actions of players working outside, leaving those individuals hesitant to act too forcefully and avoid responding directly to anything Xu Huo said.

Xu Huo was not surprised as he stood firm on the rooftop, "In that case, let’s not make things difficult for each other. I am willing to cooperate with your work here; if you have any questions, you can ask, and I will answer them fully."

This statent placed the already troubled governnt players in an even more precarious position. They could sense sothing was off due to the peculiar attitude of the governnt’s higher ranks, yet, even if they knew nothing, they couldn’t openly interrogate him.

The mining accident had beco a ticking bomb, liable to explode at the slightest misstep.

The players were at a standstill, and at this mont, the leading man received a ssage from the governnt, and after listening, he looked up at Xu Huo, "Mr. Dolaiti has agreed to et and talk with you tomorrow morning, but requests a one-on-one eting."

Xu Huo shook his head, "This matter was done as a favor to Master Soran; settling it privately won’t achieve her goal, nor mine."

The District Governnt knew he aid to complete the high-ranking instance, yet he had already acquired the painting and learned the circumstances behind Soran’s painting of the Ember Girl, effectively unraveling the instance. Revealing the true cause of the mining accident might not even significantly raise his instance rating.

"He intends to disrupt Zone 019!" the Chief Governor slamd the table.

The eting room was the sa as before, yet all participants were present, and the on-site equipnt had been turned off. Additionally, shielding props had been added. While the governnt players surrounded Xu Huo, the central governnt’s smart systems encountered issues. The protocol of ard robots in certain cities had been tampered with, nearly misidentifying Zone 019 residents as targets for elimination, instilling cold sweat in the district governnt leaders. Despite efforts to restore order, so robot protocols remained unrecovered, and these ard robots now lingered near the district governnt building. They might not breach the district governnt, but they could access nearby residential buildings, many of which house the families of governnt staff!

These circumstances compelled so of the deployed players to return, organizing gentlen to evacuate and deal with the "rebellious" robots, simultaneously scanning all structures to prevent ard robots from stashing high-power weapons in densely populated areas ahead of ti.

These operations could not be completed swiftly, and they also had to find the "Storm Factor" entry point within the system, or else robot "rebellion" could reoccur—a concern made more pressing by the anticipated reactions of Zone 019 citizens as ti stretched on. Various player organizations, independent rogue players, and ordinary people whose brains or bodies had uniquely evolved under the nurture of Evolution Potions might join the betrayal, not discounting those potentially linked to victims.

Realizing that the tangled web of problems was far from being resolved in a short tifra, the governnt personnel were in over their heads, losing the confident posture they displayed the previous day.

The death of Xu Huo couldn’t salvage anything; the District Governnt’s true concern lay with Zone 019. Xu Huo was rely a small fry trying to drag everyone down for personal gain, essentially insignificant, but proceedings had reached a point where they could no longer avoid addressing him directly.

"Why even bother with this clown?" sneered a middle-aged man seated at the end of the conference table, "Hire a player from another zone to kill him; let them fight it out and save us the trouble."

"Killing him won’t resolve this matter," the woman facing him stated, "Do you think the citizens are fools? There’s already been a player digging at Amber Square, uncovering the underground cell excavated by the Avenger, and they found lingering bloodstains confird to be human blood."

"Information on those involved—Enbo and Ms. i’s histories—has been unearthed, I don’t need to elaborate on the historical aircraft crash incident, do I?... Such blunders leave traces when overused."

"Hales’ graveyard has been located, and several internal personnel from mining groups have faced varying degrees of coercion and kidnapping. Even without physical evidence, circumstantial testimonies are sufficient."

"Additionally, there were people who worked at Tian Tian Le witnessing Soran shortly before and after Xia Xi’s disappearance—along with her several friends. At the ti, Soran had gone to pay respects to her father, and having a deep bond with Ms. i, she naturally extended her respects to the neighbor who raised her, which was not unusual..."

"Do you understand what this ans?"

"This is rely one among countless related chains; soone like Soran, who wasn’t fully involved in the event, rembered and pursued the truth for over a century, even leveraging her own death to inspire future generations. How many others like her exist in Zone 019?"

"Must this conflict really endure across generations?"
