Chapter 1748: Chapter 1748: The Avengers
It just so happens to be in Sanhui City, and even more coincidentally, Xiashi Duolaiti disappeared right after Blind Old Lady’s two sons.
Previously, while in Tingting Flower Town, although I paid so attention to the old lady’s past, I didn’t keep track of whether she left the town during that period like I did with Master Soran’s information. Now it seems she should have left.
“Why did she go to Tian Tian Le Group for an explanation, what was the specific reason?” Xu Huo asked again.
The technician paused for a mont, sowhat understanding his question, “The old lady’s children and grandchildren all had accidents because of Tian Tian Le Group. Isn’t it reasonable for her to resent the Tian Tian Le Group?”
Xu Huo’s fingers moved, and the Spatial Blade slit the technician’s throat. The slippery sensation of blood flowing along with the clear pain made the man cry out in shock, and simultaneously fearfully, he spilled everything he knew like beans falling from a pod.
“I’ll say! I’ll say! I’ll tell you everything! Actually, the old lady’s two sons didn’t die accidentally. I heard Tian Tian Le Group’s mines were operating illegally, and those two discovered the issue. They demanded to halt operations imdiately, but they were stopped. The young master of Tian Tian Le was afraid they would leak the information, so he orchestrated an accident to kill them!”
“Soone revealed this matter to the old lady. She originally planned to bring her family to demand justice, but unexpectedly the young master was so ruthless, daring to sabotage two spacecraft… I swear, I only modified two pieces of data according to his request. I didn’t expect the consequences to be so severe. I regretted it afterward, and I found out about these things by paying attention afterward…”
“I don’t dare say anything, no one dares to speak. I’m afraid if I say sothing, I might end up like the old lady, where only one in her family survived…”
“…I don’t know why the young master spared that old lady. Later, she followed other victim families to the Tian Tian Le building multiple tis, yet no one troubled her. The governnt even arranged a proper place for her to live, presumably for surveillance. Besides visiting the graves of her descendants, she mostly cannot leave the retirent town…”
The narrative makes sense, the only inconsistency being the young master of Tian Tian Le orchestrating a horrific spacecraft crash to prevent the old lady from revealing the truth. Under those circumstances, so people should have pieced together the truth. It didn’t beco public because the District Governnt and the mining group jointly controlled it. Destroying two spacecraft for the old lady’s family was completely unnecessary, engineering an accident is simple, so the most likely scenario is that there were too many people in the know. Since soone told the old lady, perhaps soone also told others.
Of course, most of these people have died, making the truth difficult to ascertain, and those who survived are like the old lady; exacting revenge is out of the question, and re-raising the truth is challenging.
If these people learned further of the governnt’s collaboration with the mining group, seeking revenge would be reasonable.
“What happened to these people later?” Xu Huo asked about other survivors.
“So died of illness, so are still alive, but have moved far away, cared for by the governnt, not necessarily coming to the graves.” The technician pointed out those who had passed away and said, “Many of them are disabled, and so need wheelchairs to move around.”
Xu Huo paused slightly, then asked a few more detailed questions.
“Are you trying to avenge those people?” The technician swallowed nervously, “The young master is now one of Tian Tian Le Group’s leaders, and ordinary players have a hard ti getting close to him. He rarely appears in public now.”
Seeing Xu Huo remain silent, he added, “All these years, I’ve actually suffered from guilt, but you can’t fight the system. Tian Tian Le and the governnt are in cahoots; how would they allow those events to co to light? If they find out I disclosed the information, they might not let
live…”
The technician despaired on his own, “I won’t survive… I used to worry about losing my life over this from youth to old age, now I’ve finally co to this day…”
Xu Huo ignored him and made a sound, attracting the attention of the young woman in front.
The woman was still leaning on the door; she turned back and asked, “Done?”
Xu Huo nodded, and the woman happily ran over, kicking the half-kneeling technician before leaning close and whispering, “I’m not actually insane; I ca here as an undercover agent. This hospital secretly harvests patients’ organs for sale.”
This revelation shocked the technician, who had been lanting his fate just a mont ago, causing him to raise his head in disbelief.
“I’m only telling you this secret, don’t reveal it to anyone else. The ti to close in isn’t here yet.” The woman mysteriously showed a wristband marked with numbers. “Look, tomorrow they’re going to operate on . Once I’m in the operating room, soone will storm in to catch them red-handed.”
“This is indeed a big secret; I’ll help you keep it.” Xu Huo said solemnly.
The young woman smiled contentedly.
“But I think you’re taking a big risk alone,” Xu Huo pointed at her wristband, “Why not have soone else take your place, and you act as the hero who catches them?”
The young woman hesitated then said, “Unfortunately, I have no companions who ca in with .”
Xu Huo pointed to the technician on the ground, “He’s soone I know, he can replace you.”
The technician didn’t understand his intention at all, even if he wanted to replace her, the psychiatric hospital workers aren’t fools; how could they not notice two people in the room? Especially when Xu Huo can linger here?
If he leaves, the situation in the room surely won’t be hidden from the dical staff outside.
“He’s a man, an older one.” The woman remarked, “The hospital only wants young organs.”
“Don’t worry, I can make him young.” Xu Huo applied a Disguise Mask to the technician but did not alter his physical features.
After thinking it over, the young woman nodded in agreent and pointed underneath the bed, “Tomorrow morning when they co to fetch , I’ll hide here.”
Xu Huo then turned to the technician, “Stay here for a couple more days; you won’t necessarily survive if you leave.”
The technician figured out the implications, just relaxing, but soon worried again, “This hospital harvests organs!”
After saying this, he fell silent again, considering it lucky Xu Huo didn’t kill him. Why would he save him?
Nevertheless, Xu Huo genuinely had no intention of letting him die now. Saying, “I’ll take a look,” he left the ward.
He first checked tomorrow’s surgery preparations, then visited the doctors involved, confirming no issues. Only then did he tamper slightly with the hospital equipnt, ensuring the surgery couldn’t proceed.
