Chapter 1596: Chapter 1596: In a Dream

"What do you an by that?" The player glared angrily at Xu Huo.

"Am I wrong?" Xu Huo’s expression remained unchanged as he reiterated, "Didn’t you all team up only after entering the dungeon? How can you be sure that the people who disappeared are as honest as you think?"

Bian Lu stopped a few of his companions who were about to lose their temper, saying, "Brother Xu, even if you don’t trust us, there’s no need for such conspiracies. Honestly, going solo might not get us out of this dungeon. Who knows who will disappear next?"

"Forget it, since we can’t agree, let’s part ways here."

After saying this, he took a few companions and left without a backward glance.

"Why deliberately provoke them?" Chi Xian asked, "Having soone to lead the way isn’t a bad thing."

"They ca here to uncover the dungeon’s content," Xu Huo said, "This is a dream-related dungeon. Even if it sounds absurd, every line of the background introduction is important in the dungeon."

One of those lines might hide a clue, a simple phrase or word that wouldn’t catch your attention the first ti around, but once enough information is gathered, it might all co together.

Anyone who can beco an Advanced Player, even if not very clever, would have accumulated so experience. In the absence of any leads, no one would dare to think that the ga’s background introduction is useless or outright dismiss it.

"That’s what I thought too, going around in circles without hitting the point. Sleep here isn’t anything strange; it’s the sa outside the dungeon," Chi Xian agreed, pausing before looking hopefully at Xu Huo, "Is this just your dungeon?"

Xu Huo did not hide it, nodding, "The dungeon quest is to find the Midsumr Night’s River of Stars."

He then briefly explained the dungeon’s background.

Chi Xian found it perplexing, "Didn’t those people say Midsumr Night’s River of Stars was a player?"

Even Xu Huo guessed that it was a player’s nickna for Midsumr Night’s River of Stars.

"It now seems to be a code na for sothing else," Xu Huo said, "But we can’t say it’s not a player nickna either. Nas in gas are all sorts of strange, and Midsumr Night’s River of Stars is a legend; it’s normal for soone to use it as a nickna. Moreover, if Young Master Mo and his group specifically ca for a player nad ’Midsumr Night’s River of Stars,’ maybe soone used this na to trick them."

Chi Xian let out a snide laugh, sowhat schadenfreude.

"However, this gives

an idea. The legendary ’Midsumr Night’s River of Stars’ might be an illusion seen by soone on the brink of death, or sothing else."

"Didn’t you say ’Midsumr Night’ is a type of mushroom?" Xu Huo looked around, "Are there any here?"

Chi Xian waved his hands, "I learned about this mushroom’s na from the locals who died at Suffocating Rainforest Station. He said there were, but I couldn’t find it on Beneath the Dinsion."

"Besides, if ’Midsumr Night’s River of Stars’ was as mystic as the background introduces it to be, the place would probably be crowded with advanced players. With so many people suffering from post-evolution syndro, who wouldn’t want to regain health?"

"Let’s find a local to ask." He continued, "This Midsumr Night’s Space might be moving. It seed like those people didn’t know that even people outside would occasionally fall into a deep sleep."

"I’ll go find soone," Xu Huo said, "You know about fungi, observe more, so you don’t end up stuck in so bewildering place."

Chi Xian gestured a reassuring sign, indicating no problem.

He didn’t need to go far, as many fungi grew among the buildings here. Since the dungeon space and the outside city both had the sleeping issue, comparing the fungi in both places might produce remarkable results.

Xu Huo attempted to wake up the people who had hidden away to sleep, but his efforts were largely in vain. Not to ntion waking them, these people wouldn’t even open their eyes to pain stimuli, maintaining a peculiar smile all along.

Without further attempts, he walked a short distance away and found a person wandering inside the dungeon.

The person was an older man who looked sowhat like Cong Yu. His visible skin was covered in contaminants and fungi, with pustules so dense they looked like raised fish scales, causing natural discomfort.

"...Galaxy...Star River..." He repeated the words while dragging his legs forward. His mutated skin nearly covered his eyes, which dully stared ahead without any life. It was as if he didn’t see the person standing in front of him and walked directly into Xu Huo.

Xu Huo made way for him and, as he passed by, took out a pack of jerky.

The sll of the food instinctively made the man turn his head back, staring straight at the jerky. Gradually, a light ca into his eyes, and he swallowed subconsciously. A second later, he snatched the jerky and started gnawing it while shouting, "Galaxy! My Galaxy! I’ve found the Galaxy!"

He spoke urgently, albeit a bit incoherently, but people here were extrely sensitive to the words "Galaxy." Two players hurriedly approached from afar. Seeing the man frantically chewing at, they were sowhat disappointed and left after a glance—they evidently had seen him before.

Xu Huo wasn’t in a rush. He had given only a small amount of at. After the man finished eating, he handed him a small bottle of water.

The man drank half of it in one go, and after a mont, looked appreciative while holding the bottle, "The water outside is so sweet."

What Xu Huo provided was just plain water.

"What do you want to ask, go ahead. Since I’ve eaten your food, I’ll tell you whatever I know," the man said, "Many people have asked , asking what the Midsumr Night’s River of Stars is and where to find it... It’s a joke. I’m a dying man. If I knew where Midsumr Night’s River of Stars was, why wouldn’t I save myself?"

"If you’re going to ask that, I really don’t know."

Perhaps the earlier people weren’t as normal in their deanor, so the man was willing to cooperate.

"Where are you from?" Xu Huo asked.

"Tan-skinned City... can’t rember what it was originally called. People there are like

with this strange affliction; outsiders call it that."

"How many days have you been here?"

"Seven or eight days, I guess. There isn’t much to eat here, and I’ve been starving for a long ti."

"Do you fall asleep every day? Did you have this problem before?"

"Of course not before. These things grew on

making it painful to sleep every night. Only after coming here did I get so good rest. It’s not just ; others feel the sa. Dreams are the good place; if only we could live in dreams forever..."

"Do you rember how long you sleep every day? It’s best if you can tell

the duration for each day."

"That... I really can’t rember. Just know that on the first day, I seed to sleep until midnight, and in the past two days, I’ve slept until morning."

Xu Huo paused upon hearing that, "Has anyone died in their sleep?"
